The second installment to Nintendo's popular game for casual gamers. It comes with one of those motion sensing enhancers too. New games include Jet Skiing, Sword Fighting and Puppy Frisbee (ugh). While it looks alright, I'm not sure I'd actually be willing to pay the full price for it. The first one came free with the Wii so that was the main appeal for me. But atleast you get a free accessory.

It's going to sell so much to be honest, casuals will buy it for the fact it's Wii sports, and I'll be buying it for the motion plus, and also because sword fighting looks fun. Good marketing Nintendo. I just hope they give developers quick access to motion plus, like some time in the next month, otherwise we won't be seeing a game that uses it until way after Wii Sports comes out.
Should be good if they give it all the great concepts wii sports had and more that it lacked. Online play would be awesome but I don't see it happening. 1:1 sword fighting though <33
Well you're paying for the MotionPlus and Wii Sports 2.
It's going to be $50.
So I'm betting a seperate MotionPlus runs you about $20-$30.
The one thing I've always hated about the Wii, although it was inevitable, was the dumb cheap motion-sensor games that had zero originality, no effort on graphics, and cost 40 bucks for a nothing game. Wii Play, along with dozens of other 3rd party crap, is what makes me lose respect for the Wii.
Wii sports was the only good one because A) It came with the Wii, so you got a free game-something these kinds of games should be (when you buy a system/accessory). And B) Wii Tennis was fun, and Wii Golf,Baseball and Bowling were good games just to go to when you got tired of Wii Tennis. The Only sub-par game was boxing, but no one really played that.
Now they added 3 non-sports? It looks like games you could have played on WiiFit.(which yeah, it was one of those motion sensing gimmick games, but the catch for people was that it got you in shape after a while). Also, besides sword fighting, can you do any of those with 2 people?
The sword fighting can very well end up like the Wii Boxing, but without the extra nunchuck thing; which is exactly what it looks like through the video.
The dog frisbee looks like the most of the gimmicky games, but in fact looks the most fun just because you can use the Wii remote pretty freely. Even though...well, how are you supposed to play with 2 people?
And lastly the jet skiiing game looks like a Balance game from Wii fit only instead of the balance board you use the Wii Remote.
I am pretty disapointed. I mean, if you're going to make another Wii sports, why not add...you know, fun sports. Basketball, (if they could) Football, Lacross, mini-golf, swimming etc. etc. etc. Of all the sports to add to a game called Wii sports, they added those?

I think the frisbee one looks the most fun, you crazy fools.

Really, how the hell would you do that? While standing still? You idiot.
and boxing was my favourite one. Maybe Tennis.

Out of all my Wii games, Wii Sports would probably be the most popular with other people (people that don't play it much or have one of their own), so I will definitely look into getting this one. I would hope though that I has more than just the 4 or 5 games the original one had, or at least make them as good as tennis and bowling were.
Out of interest, did anyone find the golfing one on the original really bad? Hope there aren't anything like it on this one.
I am sooo getting this: whenever I have random people to play the Wii with I get annoyed that WiiSports is virtually the only decent multiplayer game available, so this should be a nice addition.
For anyone still wondering about this, I picked this up today and I'd say I am thoroughly impressed. They pack in like 12 different games but the most outstanding is sword fighting. They have about 3 different modes for each game, and for sword fighting they have like a duel where you can go single player and beat the shit out of the computer or join up a second remote to beat the shit out of your friend. They also have some gay vegetable slicing one, but the third mode on sword fighting is definitely the most fun, because you pretty much just go through a course beating hundreds of Mii's to the ground as you go. That said, some of the games are sorely not as fun as this, but I would say that the majority of the games are truly entertaining.
The Wii Motion Plus accessory definitely lives up to expectations. It really shines is games like Frisbee and table tennis, where it really is 1:1 live and on screen. I remember remarking how tossing the Frisbee really felt like tossing a Frisbee, and playing table tennis was just like playing it for real. So far I haven't had any blips with inaccuracy or annoyances, and it surely reduces the cursor jumping around all the time from afar. The precision really opens up new doors for the Wii, as demonstrated in swordfighting, it is so accurate that it incorporates a good amount of skill to play, such as blocking and slicing your opponent at the right angle, as well as your swing size to strength of hit factor. Thrashing around aimlessly will get you nowhere, unlike in the previous Sports' boxing, for instance.
The multiplayer is decent enough, however many of the multiplayer options are simply turn taking competitions. Better than nothing, though. Canoeing, however, is really fun when you have a couple friends paddling along with you, as it requires at least some teamwork. And again, the table tennis is probably just as, or at least almost as good as the old Wii Sports' tennis, as well as being more difficult.
This post is too long. So, yeah, it's worth it.

To be honest. This game sucks shit, I mean it adds to the greatness that is Wii sports but every 10-20 minutes you get that shit message coming up on screen: Would you like to take a break? Just fuck off Nintendo. I will take my breaks when i say so, your not my mum.
(except my mum doesnt tell me when to take breaks cause im not one of those familys that is hardcore on rules and discipline)

So a game is bad because it gives you messages every once and a while? You real are a dumbass. And if that was an attempt to be funny then you suck even more.
Anyhow, I was real interested with how the motionplus would perform, cause I haven't even finished games like Transformers and Red Steel because I could never get a full handle on the controls. I guess if it really does amp up the control, it'll be my next purchase. After Fat Princess, of course.
I don't think the Motion+ does anything to older games. I think it's primarily for upcoming titles, which sort of sucks.

Yeah, it doesn't do shit for older games. The developers have to make their game motion plus compatable. This is actually a nice game. The swordplay is the best of all. The only problem I had with the motion plus is that sometimes during duel it would fuck up a little and my sword would make weird ass movements. Otherwise, this is actually good.

Oh, that's lame. I guess I still have sequels then. I'm still excited to hear about this swordfighting, that was the most fun part in Oblivion, because I actually tried to use skill instead of blunt force to fight people and I eventually got really good at it.
