London was awesome! The funniest bit for me was that the stand right next to Explosm (at least on Saturday) was a guy trying to hawk some manga stuff (and it wasn't even his, the artist was a 'friend' apparently). I didn't even think it was that good.

But he spent most of the day trying to get people to have a look, and the stand was pretty empty, whilst there were hordes at the next stand over. Hordes, I tell you.

I did pop back several times as the day went on but it was never quiet enough for me to get a photo of the guys. I did snag one of the banner though.

For those who don't know or care, we arrived at the C&H stall to find a "brb" sign on the table (pic above).. so we decided to wait around and take some pics. In the mean time a couple of random guys came up next to us also looking at the stall and started bad mouthing about how C&H was supposed to be really offensive. In outrage, my friends and I immediately jumped to the defence of our beloved comic… at which point the random guys calmly walk around to the other side of the table and sat down with smug grins, therein revealing their true identities!

You know people always say this about Australia, but I've never seen a snake in the wild ever and I've rarely ever seen a poisonous spider near my house.

To be fair, they're mainly found in Queensland and the Northern Territory, in the deserts and tropic forests, where its warmer and there are less people. The worst I've seen is a Funnel web spider in outer Sydney, and those damn roaches are pretty scary, if size could kill and all.

It might also be worth looking at Gencon in Australia. It's bigger than the one in SoCal, the UK and France.

Gen Con™ Australia 2008 has a great line-up of guests from around the globe including Alan Tudyk (Serenity/Firefly), Paul McGillion (Stargate Atlantis), David Nykl (Stargate Atlantis/SG-1), Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation), Chris Sabat (Dragonball Z), Tracy and Laura Hickman (Dragonlance), and local celebrity Mungo McKay (Undead).

Edit: Nevermind. "Bigger than the one in SoCal, the UK and France" still only means 10,000.
