Giantbomb.com (http://www.giantbomb.com)

Ok, so here's a site I've bin following since before it existed. Probably nobody here knows what I'm talking about, but the basic story is: Gamespot used to be really awesome, then all the guys who ran it mysteriously got fired/left for some reason and now it sucks. Then, some of those guys got together and made a new website (about videogames) called GiantBomb.

So let me tell you what it is: They do reviews, previews n all that shite. Except they're not a massive corporation, it's like 4 guys. So they only review games that people actually give a shit about. This Soul Calibur 4 video (http://www.giantbomb.com/soulcalibur-iv/61-20678/reviews/) is a pretty good example of how they go about doin things.

So what's that Wikipedia shit about? Well that's what I like about it. GiantBomb has a GIGANTIC moderated user-generated database of everything about games ever, ever.

For example, lets say you wanted to know about Steam and which games Steam supports. You'd go to the Steam support page. (http://www.giantbomb.com/steam-support/92-718/)
What if you wanted to know if a game had upgradeable weapons? Well there's a page for that with 219 games on it. (http://www.giantbomb.com/upgradeable-weapons/92-133/)
Let's get crazy. What if you wanted to play a game with nunchucks in it? You don't care what it is, you just want it to have nunchucks BECAUSE THEY'RE COOL. Well, you'd have 29 games to choose from. (http://www.giantbomb.com/nunchaku/93-707/)
Manchester United Football Club? 34 games here. (http://www.giantbomb.com/manchester-united-football-club/92-1752/)
Lets get rediculous. GAMES THAT FEATURE HAMBURGERS AS A GAMEPLAY MECHANIC. (http://www.giantbomb.com/hamburger/93-9/)
The trash can page (http://www.giantbomb.com/trash-can/93-268/), The Goomba page (http://www.giantbomb.com/goomba/94-276/), The eyepatch page (http://www.giantbomb.com/eyepatch/93-94/), G-Man (http://www.giantbomb.com/g-man/94-421/), Unreliable narrators (http://www.giantbomb.com/unreliable-narrator/92-191/), Hyrule field (http://www.giantbomb.com/hyrule-field/95-551/), Cannoncrotch (http://www.giantbomb.com/cannoncrotch/61-22515/), Boss fights (http://www.giantbomb.com/boss-fight/92-50/), Liu Kang (http://www.giantbomb.com/liu-kang/94-188/) and Will Wright (http://www.giantbomb.com/will-wright/72-1297/). I don't know if you've bin keeping track of this, but each page has it's own forum, and they're all surprisingly on topic. So if you wanted a place to talk about Solid Snake's bandana without the conversation straying off topic, you can.

Also I like how they do reviews. Instead of giving a score like 6.4 or 8.7, they giver 1-5 stars, because that's all anyone needs to know if a games awesome, good, average, bad or terrible, and it stops people comparing them all like idiots.
Just throwin it out there.

I too have been following it since Jeff Gerstman got fired, and it is really pretty awesome. You can tell the reviews are bullshitted less then a lot of other major review sites, and you know exactly who its coming from, since theres only 4 guys.

The wikipedia section is pretty cool as well for looking up random trivia bits about games and such. I can see the site being very popular.

This is the first time I have ever heard of this site, and I can honestly say this is a lot better than major corporations like IGN and Gamespot. The first way I could tell they were awesome was by giving Condemned 2 5/5. Now if only this had more spotlight, more people need to learn about this site and stop visiting Gamespot.
