View Full Version : Here. Have Some Classical Songs.
I made them and they're oven fresh.

They're just a few samples of some orchestral music I've made in the past few days.
Eat up!

It tastes so good, Kris; don't stop!
I seem to remember the title "What Trees Reach For". Is this a reworked, classical version, or a different track?

Ivory Ivan sounds a bit like the intros, outros, and interludes in some Finntroll songs. I fucking love Finntroll, so I fucking love this song. It's slightly creepy, but with a touch of class. I feel like a goblin in a top hat is about to rape me while I listen to it.
What Trees Reach for feels as though it should be applied to some form of Magic RPG or something. I'd love to have it as a soundtrack while I dueled a Knoll or Orc.
Then, on the opposite end of those scales; Via Morte is quite soothing. At the end of a pleasant movie, when a pivotal character dies is when I'd expect Via Morte to cue. The main character is sad, yet at peace with the situation and has vowed something.
All in all, they're well done, Kris. Classical music is pretty hard to pull off without sounding generic and as if you're going straight for the epic Lord of the Rings or Requiem for a Dream-esque theme.
I like Via Morte but it ends so suddenly.
It would be rad if you finished it.

Nice stuff you got going there Kris, like it all alot :)
Actually I was wondering if there could be a chance of co-operation, like that I add a bass-line to some song you've done or going to do.

Yes it is! It's originally an acoustic guitar song I made a while back.

Finntroll is great. I also really love the Kronos Quartet and they made Requiem For A Dream's music. I'm definitely influenced by them.

Of course. I'm always willing to. As long as you can send me a decent recording we can work something out. Make a bass line and I'll make a song to it. Then we'd go back and forth on it.

I'll get working with it the first thing in the morning then :)

Really awesome! I think Ivory Ivan is my favorite. What did you use to make these? (sorry for being redundant :P)

He played every instrument at the same time and recorded it with a mic he was also holding.

Oh, right. Please forgive my ignorance.

Ivory Ivan is ok but could be a lot better. I feel like it doesn't go anywhere. It just stays in that same sonic realm and never quite feels like I've hit an emotional climax or even like the song is over.
What Trees Reach For is in the same boat. That one actually has a lot of potential in my book but you end it before it gets anywhere.
Via Morte showed me more of the same. Potential, but it doesn't go anywhere. All these tracks feel unfinished to me.
Your very good at taking a melodic idea and enhancing it with other instruments. Now it's time to string together multiple ideas. I feel like your pieces are trying to get to a place and never quite getting there. A couple more melodic ideas and such should do it.

I love that movie. All time favorite right there, and your music is amazing.

They're the first movements. No where near completed or even on to the second movement.

Kris do you keep an up to date online list of the music you make? The music is great and I would like to hear more.

Those were great Kris! What program do you use? Or do you simply play all of the instruments yourself as Derilelict claims you have the ability to do?

I love classical music, and really enjoyed these. Via Morte is beautiful so far and I can't wait to see where you take it.
