which is your favorite?
I have been PES but this year it looks like FIFA could be better.

I have a friend who's currently working at EA, and been working on Fifa 09 and he says it's utter shit.

But then of course he utterly hates everything about football, football itself and any football games, so I don't trust him on that.

I think Fifa 09 will be a cracking game, there's no excuse for them to fuck it up. They've got Fifa 08 and Euro 08 to build on, so they could make a world class game. Stick in a Captain Your Team option on Fifa 09, and it would brilliant.

They're pretty much the same every year, especially since PES changed it a year or 2 ago to make it stupidly easy to score goals, like in FIFA.

Having played both demo's. I'm definitely for Pro. Fifa as usual has better menu's and set up, but once again the players run around like they're on rails. Also (this is just going off the demo) the replays in Fifa remind me horribly of PES 2008 which were terrible.

I'm not sure whether I'm the only one but I hate that in Fifa you have to use the analogue sticks (on PS3 anyway).

For me, Fifa gets 7/10.
Pro Evo get's 8.5/10.

I've always prefered FIFA. Especially when I was given PES '08 and I thought it was total crap. Maybe they'll out do FIFA for this year, but I would be very surprised. And at the very least, maybe they'll be allowed to use the England Premier League actual team names!

Pro evo, always liked them better and the new demo just proved it was better over fifa.

Pro evo, on the Wii. It's pretty much the only thing that's changed in football games in the last ten years and it kicks ass.

Pro evo, on the Wii
Yeah, I just read this (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=173569) quick overview, and I reckon Pro Evo on the Wii will be mad fun to try play with friends.
However, deep down, I'm still a true FIFA fan and always will be.

FIFA all the way, have been right back since 1998.

I dislike the PES franchise, I find the players to be really stiff and it really bugs me they don't have the licenses for the teams.

Fifa 07 and Fifa 08 were amazing games, and the best in the franchise since '98 but I have to say '09 is absolutely brilliant. I thought the changes in '07 and '8 were good but the graphics and physics in '09 is exceptional. Also, the commentary is vastly superior to PES.

Pro Evo for me this year. I tried both demos and found FIFA to be slow as shit. The characters couldn't take the ball past a blind handicapped child with downs, and on the lucky occassion when they did, they ran slower than I could. Players would NEVER make runs and when defending, would just jog and watch as you tried in vain to get in front of the computer's player. Pile of wank all round. Although a shiny one.

PES to me just seemed more fluid, fast paced, and ultimately fun. Isn't that what you get the damn things for?

FIFA 09 has been blindingly good fun thus far. PES has got a tough one to beat.

I would recommend to THIS IS NOT A POST to play FIFA with loads of friend at once; like in a house full of students, where it really comes into it's own. It's much more of a group game.

Exactly my issues with Fifa. All the players are always too muscly and buff, it's weird. Pro has shit music and menu's but that's kind of the charm to it now, it's just about the football. Scoring a goal on Pro feels so much better than one on Fifa!

Well, THEBLUENEUTRINO, I would say that football games aren't meant to be WarioWare. You either play them on your own, with one friend over or on Live or the playstation equivalent. And if FIFA needs other people to make it good, then it's not a good game.

It was Pro Evo up until 2007, then they were about equal, and then FIFA08 quite genuinely kicked the shit out of PES2008. This will be a huge year in the direction of the franchises, Seabass continues to fuck up PES and FIFA continues to imrpove. It will be FIFA for me until PES truly deserves to be back on top.

BUMP.

I've had FIFA 09 for a couple of days now, and it is abso-fucking-lutely brilliant. I didn't know how they could make FIFA 08 better but somehow they did.

It's way more responsive and fast paced and the physics are so beautiful. I foul people or let myself get fouled just to see those great ragdoll physics in action.
