This is a link to a song called "Here And Now". I made it. The mix is unmastered (quiet) so you should turn it up a little. (http://www.sectionzmusic.com/detail.asp?SZID=27356)

In case you don't feel like reading text wrapped into a long narrow strip I copied the long ass track description here for you.

I don't normally upload two tracks so close together but this was one too good to leave alone. i started with a bit of an ambient intro and it grew into this near nine minute monster. yeah i wrote lyrics and sing them on it too. I recorded the chorus and the chorus harmony first with a sore throat on tuesday, recorded the first verse next on wednesday with an even sorer throat followed by the bridge, second verse and their respective harmonies today (thursday) with a relatively more able, less sore voice. You will almost certainly notice the difference. You would have to be deaf or something not to. The vocals were recorded with a terribly shitty no-name dynamic mic. I'mm saving up for a nice condenser (possibly a Rode) so when I get it I'll probably have a shot at re-recording instead of doing the insane amount of de-essing and noise gating that I do now (which still ends up in what I think is a sub-par result).

Now here's some lyrics for you. The song is written from the perspective of a dead person who wants their loved ones to move on and start living their lives again. And away we go:

---------
[Verse1]
You've been out on your own
And staring straight at defeat
I've been gone for the best days
And now you feel incomplete
You try to tell me you're sorry
You want just one more day
This isn't where I belong now
But I wish that I could stay
And oh, you need to stop, you need to think
About the future and all it contains

[Chorus]
Here and now I
Stand unbroken
In your arms I
Find myself shattered
Here and now I
Live unspoken
In your heart my
Ashes are scattered

[Verse2]
I know you feel like a failure
I know you feel the remorse
But everyone has their time
And my time passed me by so now its yours
And oh, you need to stop, you need to think
About how much I left unchanged

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
And I know the life we had was so amazing
But you've still got so much living to do

[Chorus]

-----------

I'm definitely going to be adding to or subtracting from this based on your thoughts (and other people's thoughts). Sorry about the amount of words. You can stop reading now.

Your opinion is important to us. Please hold.

Overall, I like the sound of it and how it kind of builds up to the end. However, that's really the only thing that I thought could have been better. It's a 9 minute song that does all this sweet building up to what should've been an epic last chorus but it still feels like the other choruses. I would strongly recommend upgrading the drums from what sounded like a scripted track with ordinary fills to a lot more of a freefrom track with more common and more energetic fills. I know you mentioned that it's still a rough track in need of some fine tuning, so maybe you already knew about that.

Either way, I still like the overall development and I wouldn't mind throwing this onto my iPod even in its current form.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to flesh out the final chorus a bit.

I think what it needs is a higher harmony in the pad or something. We'll see. Thanks for the input.

It needs a lower and higher harmony that go back and forth.

Like at 4:30 where you have that nice progression. A bass solo or something. You could really bring out awesome shit if you did that.

Awesome as it is though. I wish I could sing :(

what'd you use for this one? same stuff? (program wise)

you should write more eccentric lyrics next time

also you could mash up the end with the graduation song haha

good werk

Yeah used FL Studio and a bunch of third-party VST plugins, some of which I made myself in SynthEdit (which is Windows only, so if I recall correctly you're not going to be able use it cause you're a macfag or something).
