Yep, another slight upgrade's coming (http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6196930/index.html?tag=topslot;readlink;4)

"The PSP-3000 plays the same games and offers the same media support as the older PSP models, but Sony has upgraded the system with an improved LCD screen and a new built-in microphone. The LCD is the same size and resolution as older PSP displays, but it has a "wider color gamut and anti-reflection technology," according to the latest Sony press release."

Maybe I can actually play it outside now. So, worthwhile upgrade or just minor tweaks that don't scream "UPGRADE!"?

Discuss.

Pretty obvious Sony is squeezing us all for money at this point.

Wait PSP 3000? When did the 2000 come out? They look exactly the same as the first one that came out at least I think they do. Either way the PSP has never really appealed to me save for a few games here and there.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same thing, you just have to buy it all over again. You'd be amazed at just how much better the screen looks on the 3000 though. It's great for people who don't have PSP's.

It'd be nice for people that don't have one yet, so yeah it's an upgrade.

I have a DS so I don't actually give a shit.

EDIT: fucking asshole, nitro

@ Soul - The 2000 model is the Slim PSP, came out some time ago.
Aside from the more colors and anti reflection tech, the new screen also has higher contrast and half the reaction time, which should eliminate ghosting.
Aside from this being good stuff, it also means that the PSP has reduced battery life, with upwards of half an hour less life.
I think this is enough reason for me to get a PSP.

PSP 3000 is a funny name.

Really, I think anyone who was thinking of buying a PSP would've bought one by now.
