Post stuff you've catched during concerts, signatures, pictures or encounters with artists, or cool stuff that happened during a gig

Picks I've catched (read: found on the floor after the gig):

- Pick from the singer of hildren of Bodom on my first concert
- Pick from an Atheist concert (pick says Gnostic but that's just the guitarists' other band)
- Aborted pick

Signatures I have:

- The singer from Kataklysm signed my ticket
- Celtic Frost signed my jeans shorts
- Atheist signed my booklet of Piece of Time
- Testament signed my pink inflato guitar

A picture of me and the guitarist from Atheist (the huge face) when I met them in the summer of 2007:

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e350/de_nick/26959594aw0-1.jpg

Cool balls:

- I got on stage with 20 people during a Volbeat gig

- On a festival I saw that Celtic Frost was doing signing sessions but I had nothing on me to let them sign, so I took off my shorts and let them sign it while standing in my undies in front of a row of people. It was worth every second

Signatures:
-All 5 members of Eisley on a T-shirt, set list, and tour poster.
-All 4 members of The Hush Sound + Some fat guy that played tamborine who's not officially in the band.

Here's me with Sherri from Eisley last year. Yes, I'm an ugly motherfucker.

I also said "Hi" to the bassist from Cursive once. He said "Hi" back. It was really exciting.

I have signed CD's by Common Market and Blue Scholars. They come here a lot for shows and my dad and I try to catch them as much as possible. The guys have actually started to recognize us and even called my dad out of a crowd when he was just walking by them while they were signing stuff after a show.
I also have a signed CD by the band Maktub.
Kill Hannah and Bouncing Souls also signed my Bumbershoot ticket last year.

I have a picture of the original guitarist of Kiss, Ace Frehley, holding me when I was a baby. My dad is fucking obsessed with them.

EDIT: After looking at the picture again, I realized that it was only a friend of my Dad's holding me while Ace was just sorta standing there.

The bassist from Pagans Mind gave me his sweat towel (woo HOO!) after a gig, he also signed it for me saying "To my favorite female bassist Katie - Steinar Krokmo " So that was pretty sweet. I also got a hug from the whole band, so I felt very loved!

In 1996 my first concert was two relatively unknown bands, Limp Bizkit and The Deftones. I met Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Chino, and Chi and got their autographs on my coat. I also stole a towel from the Deftones bus. Had I known then what I know now I probably would have slapped the shit out of Fred Durst at the time.

I have also met and gotten autographs from Dean and Gene Ween of Ween. And I met the Electric Six and Junior Senior after a concert.

My brother got his shoes signed by the members of Planet X/On The Virg (except Derek Sherinian had some other guy in his place whose name I can't recall for the life of me).

Get this, just after typing that last paragraph I go upstairs to get a picture. I rustle about his bedroom for a while and he comes in and asked me what I was doing so I tell him "I'm looking for the shoes you got signed by Virgil Donati and stuff". His response was "Oh. I threw those out." Fucking threw them out. What a fucking nimrod.

Well, i've not been to an actual concert yet (no good bands come here I want to see) so I don't have any autographs of my own. But, my dad has an t-shirt he bought when he attended an AC/DC concert (about...12 years ago or so) and he got his t-shirt signed by all of the band. Also, about maybe, 10 years ago or so, Molly Hatchet came here and he got the Molly Hatchet shirt he bought signed by them too.

I might be going to a Buckethead concert later this month, so who knows, I might be able to get somethign signed there.

Oh man I have tons of memorabilia. I've met a lot of bands at Warped Tours, but I've only gotten some of their signatures because I just so happened to be there, or I was already in line with a friend who wanted to meet them. The following items are things I actually cared about.

System of a Down: Small autographed poster from the Mezmerize tour. Signed by all 4 members. I didn't get to witness this myself, but a co-worker who went (and got backstage passes ) was able to get the signatures. He gave them to me cause he didn't care for SOAD much, and was only there to see Mars Volta.

Serj Tankian: On his first American tour, he signed my copy of Cool Gardens, to which he was surprised I even had a copy.

I wasn't able to get a setlist. I think the guy got offended because I said, "Sir, can I have that setlist right there?" to which he replied "Sir? Do I look that old to you?" Some chick with tits asked him after me, and he happily (carefully) untaped it and gave it to her. To get a piece of whatever, I took a sign that said "NO DRINKS ON STAGE" and Mario, the bassist of the FCC got to sign it.

On his Ozzfest date, my friend who was working security, did manage to get me a copy of that setlist.

Mastodon: Same friend who works security for concerts got me a Mastodon guitar pick.

Reel Big Fish: Autographed the back of my Creative Zen Vision: M.

Less Than Jake: Signed my In With The Out Crowd CD.

Dropkick Murphys: Signed my copy of The Warrior's Code. I told Al Barr that Never Alone was one of my favorite songs, not just from them, but from anybody. Casey Lynch heard this from the back and he said, "That's right, Never ever Alone!" :hmm:

Sounds of the Underground 2006: Several bands signed my program including Goatwhore, Job for a Cowboy, Amon Amarth, and Oderus from GWAR.

Big D and the Kids Table: Dan and David signed my shirt. You can't meet David without smelling alcohol on him. :\

I probly have a little bit more than what I listed that I actually care about, but those are the things that come to mind while I'm at school right now. But besides that, I have tons of signed condoms from bands my friends wanted to meet such as Trivium, From First to Last, Chiodos, and Taking Back Sunday :indiff:

You can't not meet David without smelling alcohol on him. :\

Wow. That's a triple negative.

I have quite a few stories, but I'll just tell a couple of my favorites.

Waited for an hour+ to be front and center at a Showbread show, and was very obviously enthusiastic (singing every word to every song, etc etc). Well, about halfway through the show Tae, one of the two vocalists, caught my eye and saw that I was really into it. In response, he dove into the crowd, grabbed me, and shared the mic with me for an entire chorus of the song they were doing at the time. 'Twas amazing.

Another time I went to see Mae, and opening for them were The Spill Canvas and Inkwell. Three quarters of the way through Mae I ended up throwing up almost on the feet of Mae's lead vocalist. Still not sure why. I hadn't even had any alcohol. Anyway, the crowd grabbed me and tossed me up front, under the incredulous gaze of the band, and Security helped me out of the area. Outside, Inkwell and The Spill Canvas wandered over and talked to me for awhile, asked how I was doing, and managed to get me some free shit (a towel, a poster, and some water) and they all signed it for me. I still have the signed "I threw up so I got a free towel" towel.

I also have signed stuff from:
-Showbread
-Project 86
-Underoath
-As I Lay Dying
-Extol
-Gorillaz (er, well, kind of)
And quite a few others.

Um.. where do I start. I have A LOT of memborilia, mostly from Aussie bands. I guess being a chick makes it a lot easier to get stuff.

My pride and joy is a drumstick that Dom from Muse gave me after their Melbourne Festival Hall gig on the 31st Jan 07.

I also have a wristband for Dragonforce and a pass for The Hives afterparties. I've been to more but they're the only ones I've needed a pass for. I have a few backstage passes lying around for shows. None too interesting. Just local bands like Little Birdy.

I occassionally do a bit of work for Evermore so I have a lot of crap signed by the band. I have every single release EVER by Motor Ace signed by the whole band. Wish I'd sold it before they broke up. And I have a heap of Gyroscope & Jebediah stuff signed/setlist/picks etc because I know them and tend to drink their riders. Chris from Jebediah actually has one of my guitar picks. I've been on tour with Jebediah & Bob Evans & Evermore at different times.

Oh and I have Chris Cheney's guitar pick & a setlist for the Living End. They played a random 200-capacity venue here so I was lucky enough to get in to that gig and be within groping distance. I met him and got a photo but I'm not sure where that photo is now.

And I have a full collection of a drumstick/guitar pick/setlist off the Subways.

I met and had an awesome night with The Darkness once when they were here for the Big Day Out. And Franz Ferdinand before another Big Day Out.

I have a lot of other stuff but these are the coolest bits. I guess being a part of such a small music community you get to know everyone and pick up a lot of stuff.

Edit: Oh and technically I could be considerd a groupie for two aussie bands but one was just a random hookup and the other I actually dated.

I high fived Matt Tuck from Bullet For My Valentine and gave thumbs up to the drummer of BFMV and a couple guys from Avenged Sevenfold. They smiled and waved at me.

I went to a Taste of Chaos one year and the singer from The Used was spitting randomly into the crowd and he hit my arm.

I almost got to meet Dallas Green, but he walked off into a crowd before I could reach him. I was so pissed about that.

Other than that I just have some guitar picks and pictures and stuff. I haven't been lucky enough to get any drum sticks or signatures.

Uhm...

I have a Lamb of God guitar pick.
Also a Breaking Benjamin guitar pick... but I gave it away cuz I don't really like them.

Stephen Tyler once cut me off in traffic. Or, at least, his limo did. The window was open, and I'm 99.8% sure it was him.

I made off with one of Craig Owens' (of Chiodos) cigarette butts. That sounds creepy, but whatevs.

Adam Siska, from The Academy Is..., flung his pick at me and it landed in my mouth. It was all sweaty and pretty gross but I loved that shit.

At an Underoath concert Spencer Chamberlain leaped off of the stage and his knee came down on my head. My friend Brittany, who was next to me, got a black eye from his shoe connecting quite firmly with her face.

Then I got to meet Craig Owens. Needless to say, my life was complete.

In 2006 I went to a Mint Chicks and Yeah Yeah Yeahs gig. The volume of the show was so loud that part of the St James theater complex fell down, injuring two concert goers. Fun times.

I a bit of signed stuff and memborilia but it's all from NZ bands which I assume most of you will have never heard of.

Was that at the concerts they had all around Australia in like, May? With Atreyu as well?

My friend touched M. Shadow's hand and she was insane for as month after.

And at Bullet's Sydney concert last year I went crowd surfing, kicked people in the head and got a wink from Moose. :hmm:

Got Setlists from, Unearth, As I lay Dying, GWAR, personalized set list from A Dozen Furies.

Also before I really got to know Bleeding Through, when I still worked at an In-N-Out burger they came in after a show and I had them sign the paper hats we have. It was pretty funny, I still have that hat to this day.

I've met Wade, George and Dallas from Alexisonfire, have pics with all three of them, and I even had the chance to speak with Dallas before a show last December. I've also got the setlist for that show, and I was the first one in the front, in the middle. Awe-fucking-some show.

Dallas usually seems pretty distant, but he was the one who came to talk to us, probably because we arrived very early for the show, so we were allowed to stay inside, while the rest of the people starting arriving around an hour and a half before the show, and all had to wait outside. He's an awesome guy, we talked for maybe 5 minutes, and he was the one who told Wade to come see us to get a picture with him.

I've spoken a couple of seconds with Wade at the first City and Colour/Black Lungs tour in the Montreal Area a couple of years ago. He's a great guy too.

I've also had George dedicate the song ''Rough Hands'' to me. I basically just screamed Rough Hands, and George looked at me, and said : Okay, we're gonna play it for you. It was probably the next one in the setlist, but I don't care, he still said it, and it was great.

I've had the singer of Guttermouth give me the microphone to sing like 10 seconds of the song ''Lipstick''.

I caught two drum sticks, one from Good Riddance, and the other from Say Anything.

I've bodysurfed only once during the Trois-Rivières Metal Fest (Local festival, 2 nights of pure Metal, awesome show) during Blinded by Faith, a pretty well-known Metal band over here, in Quebec. I'm a pretty big guy, so I though I'd never get the chance to bodysurf, but some guys, with which I've spend the first day of the Fest in the pit, came to get me on the second day, and told me they'd lift me up to do bodysurfing. Amazing experience, try Bodysurfing at least once.

That's about it.

I went to see The Darkness play a few years back when they came to SD. This is a great band. Half because they just play good, fun music, and the other half because it's the perfect level of corniness. It's a cock rock revival band, chest open full-body speedos and all, in 2000-something. How can you not love that?

Anyways, at the end of their set, they started flinging guitar picks out into the audience. I was a decent ways back and paid no attention to it. Until one hit me right in the forehead. I flinched and caught it against my chest. None of my friends believed me, but it happened! I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I eventually made it into a necklace I still wear to this day.

My pride and joy is a piece of Jonsi Birgisson's cello bow. He snapped it into pieces while playing Hafssol and through it straight into my arms, pretty much. Arms = face, of course. I also have a string from it.

Alongside that, I met iOTA after his Rocky Horror show.

I shook hands with Crafter from some shit hardcore band (is it Carpathian), but only because I thought he was the dude from Parkway Drive.

My brother's also in a fairly swish local band that gets a bit of attention, so I've met a few people through that.

Back in April I saw Anti-Flag with Street Dogs.
After the show I met the lead singer of Street Dog/Former lead singer of Dropkick Murphys, Mike McColgan.
Then just two weeks later, my girlfriend dragged me along to go see The Medic Droid. We met the band after their set. They broke into another band's van and were taping gay porn all over the place. One of the guys talking to us said "I'm sorry for my nigger lips. Their all puffy because I just got them pierced." We also met the lead singer of The White Tie Affair. He looks like a boy band version of Sid Vicious.

Back in August, I saw Kill Hannah. Meet three of guys. Got my picture with one of them, and then had those three sign the set list I stoled.
The White Tie Affair was there at Kill Hannah too, and my girlfriend got Boy-Band Sid to sign their set list he gave her.

I randomly met Serj Tankian a few months ago in Dublin. He just walked past my friends and I so we stopped him to say hi. He was so polite and sweet, nicest man ever!

I also got handed two picks from the ex-bassist of Senses Fail while he was on stage. It's a huge deal for me because they're one of my all time favorite bands.

Tim from Rise Against (can't remember his last name) randomly shook my hand after a their show aswell..it was kinda strange because if it wasn't for my friend telling me who he was, I wouldn't have know.

I good friend of mine went backstage at a The Who concert and brought me back a use pick from Pete Townshend.

I saw Heaven and Hell/Alice Cooper/Queensryche once and went backstage, for some reason Kerry King was there, signed a $5 bill and I met the bassist.

I saw Dethklok and met a guy dressed as Dr. Rockzo

I saw Into Eternity, they had a stand in guitar player, one of the best guitarists I have ever seen, and I talked to him for like a second.

I saw Heaven and Hell/Alice Cooper/Queensryche and at the end Alice Cooper through his little staff into the crowd, the guy who got it was letting people take pictures with it. I got one!

I have merchandise (usually a t-shirt) from almost every gig i've been to.

I have crappy, camera phone/hand held camera photos of most.

Videos taken on said hand held camera of Unwritten Law, Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters (these are hands down the best), and Anti-Flag.

I managed to crowd surf onto the stage with Anti-Flag, kiss Chris #2 (bassist) on the cheek, and do some ridiculous can can dance before diving off, AND caught the whole thing on video!

Caught the pick of Robert Smith, and i think his bassist, but gave both to the friend i went with as she was obsessed.

Have a bunch of picks from the Foo Fighters shows this year.

Set list from Birds Of Tokyo, as well as Less Than Jake the first time i saw them. Managed to get Chris to sign that too.

Tickets of most of the shows i've attended. Also wrist bands (GA floor entry wrist bands/18+ wrist bands) to some.

At the Guttermouth/Reel Big Fish gig, i jumped onto my exs shoulders while Guttermouth were playing Lipstick, and Mark Adkins (vocalist) stopped and pointed at me, and lifted up his shirt. I followed suit (bra was kept on, there was no tits, gtfo) and he laughed and said "I didn't want you to do it, i just like doing this. That was nice though, thank you." :hmm:

OH. AND. I grabbed Taylor Hawkins (drummer of Foo Fighters) hand while he was hi-fiving people out the window of his van, after the second show at the Opera House. Much bigger deal than everything else.

I went to a Lady Gaga concert about two weeks ago(she's rather big in Canada and making her way into the US). She kissed my sister and me on the cheek.

I got a bunch of country singers autographs and pictures with people like Jamie O'Neil, Rascall Flats, Deana Carter. I used to go to a country jamboree every summer so yeah.

And my brother was friends with Danny Hooper, but I doubt anyone knows who that is.

Met Michael Angelo Batio in case you didn't see the music thread, but I wont post the picture because apparently its just a lame excuse to let people know I met him. He also signed a poster for me.

My pride and joy is a drumstick that Dom from Muse gave me after their Melbourne Festival Hall gig on the 31st Jan 0
I'm gonna join the envy club. I'm so obsessed with Muse I'd probably die just from seeing them in person, but a drumstick and #1 ticket! I haven't really been to a concert cos I'm a bit too young until recently and there isn't really too many big bands going through where I live :(

I'm like a drumstick magnet or something:
1 from As I Lay Dying
1 from Anberlin
1 from Funeral for a Friend

My one friend was standing next to me when I caught all three. He hates me for it.

I've also got signed shirts from Everclear, August Burns Red, Flogging Molly, and Haste the Day. Have an autographed picture of Killswitch Engage that I got at a meet and greet a couple of years ago. Signed tickets from Alkaline Trio, Demon Hunter and Everclear, and pictures with the singer from Motion City Soundtrack, the bassist from AFI, Jeff Gretch (drummer for From Autumn to Ashes and Zao), and with Francis Mark(singer/drummer for From Autumn to Ashes).

Damn, I go to a lot of concerts.

I saw a concert at the Knitting Factory with 12 different ska bands playing. I went with this girl called Lizzy, and a lot of shit went down with her after that concert. Because of that concert and the shit that went down afterwards, November 2008 will be a month which will live in infamy as "The Month of Lizzy".
