Anyone would fall if some cunt shoved them hard in the back when they weren't expecting it. He wasted the gig for the hundreds / thousands of people watching and didn't even throw a punch or take someone on face-to-face. Encouraging this kind of behaviour is gay.

Noel Gallacher is one of the greatest singers / songwriters of our time and Liam does stuff too. Oasis are a great band and they're legends who - even if you don't like their music - deserve some fucking kudos.

I hope that guy got the shit kicked out of him by the bouncers / security staff.

Here's the full, uninterrupted version for everyone to enjoy. Bask in the (morning) glory that is Oasis.

Well Noel writes the songs, keeps the band together and is a far better singer and musician than Liam... explain how he's spoiled?

I'll give you that Noel is far better than Liam musically and just plain better vocals, I personally would have pushed Liam myself. But during one concert Noel just stopped playing Wonderwall and walked off stage?! I was like what the hell? So all of the sudden they stop playing and then a few minutes later they bring this other guy to play the guitar. I assume it was because they were still fighting(Noel and Liam), But it is still a bitch move. I got to see Alan after the concert though, he was like the only showing his face.

As an Oasis fangirl I may be slightly biased but I'm with Ox on this one. I don't know what the guy was trying to achieve but now he's managed to ruin a couple of shows for both the band and all the bands fans. Like, sure Noel is a mouthy twat a lot of the time, but damn is he a fucking fantastic musician.

Although it would've been funny if the guy hadn't done it with the intention of hurting him. Or if he'd done it to Liam.

If genius is proportional to number of CD's sold then Mariah Carey is the smartest woman alive.

It would be funny if it was anyone. I'd laugh if someone from a band I liked got their shit ruined. For me, Aphex Twin getting death threats and having to run under a table and DJ with only his hands showing for a gig in Stockholm is just as funny as some jerk from some jerk band getting pushed off a stage. This needs to happen more often. Except to me. That would suck.

Why Noel Is an Asshole
In a 1995 interview he expressed a wish for Damon Albarn and Alex James of rivals Blur to “catch AIDS and die”. I would also like to note Mr. Gallagher’s hate towards artist Phil Collins. Mr. Gallagher said such things as “People fucking hate cunts like Phil Collins, and if they don’t — they fucking should” and “Why did he sell so many records in the ’80s? I mean, fucking hell”, as well as “Phil Collins sells a lot of records but he makes shit albums.” Also “Vote Labour. If you don’t and the Tories get in, Phil is threatening to come back from Switzerland and live here — and none of us want that.” He also referred to Collins as “the anti-Christ”.

On Beatles Comparisons and Ripping off Other People's Music
Mr.Gallagher has not been shy about slating his idols either. When the Bealtes George Harrison accused Oasis of being little more than a “passing” fad, Gallagher replied “George was always the quiet Beatle, maybe he should keep that up.” Gallagher also criticised Green Day for plagiarising the hit “Wonderwall” in the song “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”. He stated, “If you listen, you’ll find it is exactly the same arrangement as ‘Wonderwall’.” When asked about his own habit of “nicking riffs” from other groups, Gallagher replied, “Yeah, but not whole songs! They should have the decency to wait until I am dead. I at least pay the people I steal from that courtesy.

On Thom Yorke and Radiohead
In 2007, Gallagher accused contemporary Thom York of Radiohead of boring fans saying “Thom Yorke sat at a piano singing, This is fucked up, for half an hour. We all know that, Mr Yorke… Who wants to sing the news? No matter how much you sit their twiddling, going, ‘We’re all doomed,’ at the end of the day people will always want to hear you play Creep. Get over it. I never went to fucking university. I don’t know what a paint brush is; I never went to art school.” Yorke responded by simply saying his education had taught him “to respect other artists.” Commentators observed that this is something which Gallagher has a tendency to fail to do.

On Guitar Hero:

Besides writing songs and playing for British rock band Oasis, Noel Gallagher is a walking quote machine. So, you'd think he would have an opinion on something like Guitar Hero. Well, he does: If it puts little plastic guitars into kids' hands and fires their imaginations, I think that's a good thing. It's harmless fun, innit.

I'd rather that genre of video games than somebody getting their fucking head chopped off with a samurai sword while getting fucked by a goblin up the arse with a laser. Do you know what I mean?

He also thinks that women should not be considered rock stars. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2008/sep/04/whynoelgallaghersnowomenr)

He's also made comments liek Hip Hop doesn't belong at a music festival, insulted people for covering his tunes, and continuing to insult new and successful artist when his own band hasn't made a decent album in 10 years.

He hates Phil Collins. I hate Phil Collins and think he's shit. He hates Albarn and James and thinks they're shit. I hate Albarn and James and think they're shit. There was a massive rivalry between Oasis and Blur in the mid-90's, so why should he be all diplomatic and friendly when he does like them? He shouldn't. He should be honest. If I don't like a band, I'll say so - why shouldn't he?

On Beatles Comparisons and Ripping off Other People's Music
Mr.Gallagher has not been shy about slating his idols either. When the Bealtes George Harrison accused Oasis of being little more than a “passing” fad, Gallagher replied “George was always the quiet Beatle, maybe he should keep that up.” Gallagher also criticised Green Day for plagiarising the hit “Wonderwall” in the song “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”. They should have the decency to wait until I am dead. I at least pay the people I steal from that courtesy.

George Harrison belittled him and his music - something he's proud of and has been working on his entire life which has been enjoyed by and an inspiration to millions of people. He didn't say the Beatles were shit, he just told the guy who was slagging him off to shut it - something any of us would do in the same situation. Also, Oasis are still incredibly popular and selling millions of records and touring to massive acclaim and reception around the World, 14 years after they released their first album... hardly a "passing fad".

I said earlier that he admitted his music was derivative and he has openly admitted to using other people's music in his songs - Marc Bolan being one example - but, as I said, he openly admits it. He doesn't claim to be this super-original genius, but he gives credit where it is due.

Thom Yorke keeps quiet, Noel Gallacher doesn't. If he doesn't like something or someone, he says so. In my opinion I've got more resepect for someone who has the bottle to be honest.

I said the exact same thing in the Guitar Hero thread. He's spot on with this point. It's a fun, harmless game and, if anything, it will only encourage people to try and play the guitar or get them listening to more rock & roll. A better influence than GTA or Manhunt, for example.

He also thinks that women should not be considered rock stars. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2008/sep/04/whynoelgallaghersnowomenr)

I can't see a quote from him in there that says "Women can't be rock stars", all I see is someone taking that slant on it, based on his musical tastes. In my top ten bands of all time, none would include a woman. Men make better rock 'n' roll than women and there are a lot more men out there doing it.

He's also made comments liek Hip Hop doesn't belong at a music festival, insulted people for covering his tunes, and continuing to insult new and successful artist when his own band hasn't made a decent album in 10 years.

Define "decent". Don't Believe the Truth was a massively popular album, with a successful tour and some well-known and popular songs.

I don't hate Oasis, and to be honest that video made me wince quite a bit, but I still don't know how Oasis got to be so frigging popular. Their songs are passable, but there is not a single one that really grabs your attention and says "This is something new. This is something different"

The entire band seems stuck in the past, as great as classic rock is, there needs to be progression in music.

There's a difference between honesty and being a dick, Ox. Honesty is saying you dislike someone and giving a reason why, not saying they should "get AIDS and die". He's childish and basically uses a "he called me a prick, so I'm calling him a bigger prick" motto. There's such a thing as respect, and neither Gallaghers know what that is. He deserved to be pushed off stage. I'm not saying he's any different than a lot of us, but some other people deserve to be pushed off a stage too.

Everyone seems to be overreacting to this. Plenty of people hate the Gallaghers. I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner and more often (Though I've heard that Liam had been punched in the face before), with the way that they carry themselves. But 'fan' attacks aren't really that uncommon with music. What bothers me about this is that the band just sort of made the situation worse, by leaving the stage and taking 15 minutes away from their time-slot. Getting shoved sucks, but in the end, it's just a shove. He got back up again without any visual injuries or problems, so there wasn't any real reason for them to stop the show like that.

also Ox, how can you hate phil collins?
Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

That actually happens quite often when it comes to hecklers and things. Usually, from what I've seen, they're cheering because the guy is dealt with though the means of a swift ass-kicking or something.

Then again, a crowd could just cheer because the band actually sucks and they want to see them shoved.

I can see them cheering when the guy is beat up. But it seems like there would be some booing when Noel is shoved, but I didn't catch any.

Henry Rollins wasn't pushed hard in the back by surprise, felled and injured.

Felled? Is he a tree now or something? And what was the injury? I was never clear on how badly he was hurt.

People can be felled as well as trees. Christ, read a book.

You can see him holding his back as he walks off the stage, and I believe they had to cancel a show or two immediately after.

I realize that you can technically say that someone was "felled," but I also realize that using that word in this situation makes you sound pretentious. Just say he was pushed off the stage.
He had bruised rips and hips, and did cancel at least one show.

And come on, in all honesty, how many people here have said to someone they hope they get aids and die? I know I have. It's normal when you hate someone to say you hope they die.

I have often wished AIDs on those who cross me. I stand by my view that the pusher is more of a cunt than the pushee (as much of a cunt as he is)

Just because he's honest doesn't make him not a dick. Example!

Both of these are Honest:
Your not fat, your just big boned, and maybe you should work out a little more, since it makes you feel good about yourself, I'll even do it with you.

Your a fat ugly bitch who I hate and should try and do something with your fat ugly self, I hope you get Aids and die.

Well, in that case I can only apologise that my grasp of the English language makes you feel inferior.

The fact that you tried to belittle me for not using the most base language available makes you sound like a dullard.

The day I play dumb to appease people like you is the day that Samuel Johnson rises from the grave to ask me.

Don't worry. I definitely don't feel inferior to you.
It's not a matter of playing dumb. It's a matter of using language appropriate for the situation. I didn't ask you to use base language. Which, in this case would generally be read to mean language that unrefined, and almost vulgar. Basic would fit better since there is nothing about the word felled that is refined.
Consult nearly anyone considered an authority in English language usage, or nearly any book on the subject, and you will find that choice of vocabulary is largely decided by the situation. In this situation, the word sounds out of place. It makes you sound like you're trying too hard to sound smart.
What kind of person am I anyway?

The kind of person who feels that language should be dictated by one's peers as opposed to one's intellect and feelings for fear of "sounding smart".

If I were to use language on a par with the rest of the people who use the internet, my post could have been reduced to "durrr he falled over LOLZ!!", which is not appealling to anyone, particularly me.

Obviously, I was using "base" in the sense that was appropriate - inferior in quality. (Basic, meaning less complex, or the root of something and not neccessarilly of a lesser quality, wouldn't have conveyed my opinions accurately, but thanks for trying.)

I'm not trying to sound smart... I am smart - I don't need to try.

I also never said you had to lower you language to the lowest common denominator. I'm saying that you use language appropriate for the situation. In this case, you sounded like you were trying too hard to sound smart.
And as far as what dictates your language, most experts would say that it is dictated by, well perhaps not your peers, but your audience. The two are pretty much the same in this case, however. As should be obvious, one generally talks differently when one is at a job interview than one would with a group of friends.
Also your sample "sentence" must be appealing to some people, or nobody would type such a thing. Though, I'm not sure I've actually seen anyone type "durrr" with any seriousness.
And with base, since you put most before it, you obviously meant the very lowest in quality. Nobody asked you to use the worst, just something more appropriate.
Use felled if you want. There's no rule against it. I just thought it sounded funny. Historically, felled is used to show that a person has been killed or defeated in combat, not just pushed over. That's why you sound pretentious. You're using a word most people wouldn't, and using it poorly.
Now, seeing as this is supposed to be a thread about Noel Gallagher and not about language usage, I will stop here. If you want to continue discussing language usage in an amiable manner, and more generally than this instance, send me a message. I think it's a very fun subject.
