If you know of Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas, Faith No More, Pepping Tom, The Dillinger Escape Plan, or others I might be missing, which is your favorite and why?
I prefer Mr. Bungle over all of them, with Tomahawk coming in a close second. Their native american concept album is the bomb!
Discuss.

I like Mr. Bungle, but I simply cannot wrap my head around what makes some of his shit "popular". I once saw a live performance on Youtube where all he was doing was yelling and making screeching noises to (I think?) sound like a guitar solo.
My friend is really into them, so he is gonna burn me a Fantomas CD, which from what I've heard so far is really bizarre, but that's a good thing.

Oh, everybody who likes Mr. Bungle is either a hardcore Patton fan or just wants to hear Spruance's guitar solos. Or, like me, are just in the mood for WEIRD. Pattons skill has never been writing lyrics and singing, but more of bizarre vocalization.
edit: If you seen I Am Legend, he was the one who made the infected guys' screams and such. fyi.

Mike Patton only featured on one Dillinger Escape Plan EP (titled Irony Is A Dead Scene). Not a bad release though, except the cover of Come To Daddy is pretty much ass.
A friend showed me Lovage and I quite enjoyed the sound. It was much more relaxed than I thought it would be.

In addition to what's been listed, he also was involved with Handsome Boy Modeling School, but yeah, my favorite band is Mr. Bungle. All of their albums are brilliant but I really enjoy California. I actually caught those guys live for that tour, talk about badass.

I haven't thoroughly listened to all the bands, and I don't have any Tomahawk, but from what I've heard so far, I really dig Fantômas, probly aided by the fact that Dave Lombardo is in it. Lombardo was suggested by Igor Cavalera who was originally asked to be in the band. I wish he would've accepted.

Ah, you lucky bastard. I would do ANYTHING to have seen one of their live shows.
And I just remembered Patton owns Ipecac Recordings, is anybody a fan of anyone on that label?

The drummer in my band is such a massive Mike Patton fan that it's kinda put me off. He's the kinda guy who will go on and on about something so much that even though you're pretty sure you would like, him constantly going on about it puts you off.
It also doesn't help that if he promises to make you a mix CD, he never will, but if i ask him which tracks to download he will spend the rest of the evening having a one man argument with himself as to which i should get, before saying "all of them".
Drummers eh?
But yeah, sorry I just went on a rant about some deep seated inter-band problems I've got going on.
Which Mr Bungle tracks should I check out?
