View Full Version : Saw Four.
I know there's 2 other threads, but it was before the reset.

The trailer is a pretty shitty ass trailer, it pretty much screams "NOPE WE'RE STILL MAKIN MOAR".
But this clip (http://my.break.com/media/view.aspx?ContentID=346309) is kinda cool, even though it goes against what Jigsaw was for, but I guess that's what got em killed.

I'm really excited about the fourth Saw. That clip was creepy and seems like it will be even more gruesome than the third one. Aren't they making a Saw V? Or is that just a rumor?

Saw V is set in stone.
Saw VI is a likely happening.

If you ask me, the series has potential to go on for alot longer.
I mean the story line is really secondary, what people go to see are the new ways people die, and as long as people keep getting grossed out, there's still opportunity for new movies.

The saw series is getting tired. The first one was great and the other two were mediocre at best. As far as I'm concerned , when Jigsaw died , he took the franchise with him.

I just saw the first and second one this summer. And they were awesome. As long as it doesn't start getting cheesy like the Fridays the 13ths, it should go a long way.

As long as there are ways to brutally and sadistically murder people, there will be Saw.
Oh, and a plot twist.
The first one was awesome because it was original. The second one was mediocre at best and the third one I didnt even bother seeing. Just because i knew it was shit either way. But just like everyone else has said as long as there are ways to brutally and sadistically murder people, there will be Saw.

It looks sick in my opinion, I love the Saw movies. The clip looks sick, if they have all the deaths as creative as that and like before, it'll be a four star horror movie.

They'll probably still be making them when I'm legally allowed to see them in the cinema.
It's the only film I've ever been glad to hear they're making more than three of.

The trailer on the website is fucking shit. It doesn't show you anything.
A lot of people said Saw 3 was shit, but personally, it was my favourite. Saw 2 was ballbags, but Saw 3 I loved. Anyway, they really should've let this die while it was ahead. But no no no, not the film industry. They'll milk the Saw idea dry until everybody hates it, no doubt. I'll probably still go see Saw 4 as i'm a fan of them.
Edit:/ Only just watched the second clip, and it looks pretty good. But the one on the website was balls!
I liked the first one.
I really liked the second.
And I liked the 3rd one.
The 3rd one was an odd way to end it, but I think it might've been bets to leave it there. For at least a few years.

If you ask me, even the first Saw was over-rated. I mean, it was good, but it wasn't 'omfg best movie evar' material.
They really should've just left it alone at the end of Saw III (they would've had to change the ending slightly though).

I feel about the same. The first one totally rocked my face off because it was brutal and had a twist ending you didn't see coming. The second one was ok. It was extremely slow and it didn't get good for me until the last twenty minutes. I actually went to see the third one in the theater and was utterly disappointed with it. It was horrible. Saw IV is just beating a dead horse. We get it you try and change people's lives with gruesome torture. Except it won't be the same because it isn't Jigsaw.

I liked Saw 1, 2, and 3. I'll try to see 4.
Not sure how much sense it'll make unless they do some kind of flashback crap or hes not really dead, the latter being improbable.

Personally i don't see why the Saw movies are referred to as "horror movies." When i watch them, i see nothing remotely scary, just sick.
When i was young i used to love those bits in films were they had mechanical moving bits. like the breakfast machine in Casper. They were pointless but interesting to my young eyes. Now saw seems to run along the same lines, only these machines make breakfast out of you.
In spite of all that jazz, i was tired of the series by saw 3. I just thought it was boring, sick and boring.

There really isn't a sick genre, Horror is the closest to it.

Who knows, maybe this one fails worse than Saw 3 and they'll decide not to make another.
Probably not though.

The Saw series is going to become just like Halloween, and there still making more Halloween. So we can probably expect a shit load of Saw movies. I watched the first 2 and somewhat enjoyed them, not great but i didn't shut it off in the middle of the movie.

I misread this at first. It was way funnier the way I first read it.
You know what the problem is, these people never know when to let a good thing go. So rather than it becoming a classic, it becomes mundane and easily forgotten.
I'll wait for it to come out on DVD. And by DVD I mean downloaded avi, of course.
They're bringing out another Hostel aswell, aren't they?

I like the series. I really wouldn't want it to get past 4 or 5 movies though, I think it would get too tiring after that.

I like saw 2 the best but only because of the story line, it seemed more eerie than the first. I was disappointed with the third tbh and I actually fell asleep watching it the first time round. The 4th looks ok but I guess the series is drying out with each instalment.

Hostel 3? They should've left that one at numero uno. The second was terrible, apart from when the guy's going crazy and out of the blue punches that chick in the face :D
And I couldn't agree more with what you said at the top of your post. That's exactly what I was trying to get across.

I've seen all the Saw movies, the first one was pretty good, and so was the second one, but the third sucked. I'll wait for the fourth one to come out on DVD and watch it then. Even if it isn't good, it'll give me something to freak out my weaker stomached friends with.

Probably not though.
There's movies that fail coming out every week. But they make money.
The first Saw only took about 2 million to make. But it raked in about 50 million in just the Box Office.

Since the movie is almost year old, It's not much of a spoiler:
Ya he died.
You all have horrible taste in movies.
I hope you're saying it's good because it's entertaining, not because you think it's good.
The whole idea is ridiculous, it's like porn for the masses.

Well yea.
These movies are shitstains if you think of them as art.
But they're entertainment.

Yeah.. in the movie it looked like he just got nicked in the neck; but didn't get fully cut in the jugular. He might be alive. :pop:

Before a mod gives me an infraction or anything for thread digging, let me clarify why I revived this thread.
Saw IV comes out on October 26th. I personally will try to see it on that day or soon after. I'm just curious as to know if anyone is actually going to see it or if they think it'll be a waste of their money.
If this wasn't a good enough reason to revive the thread, I understand. I just figured since it's almost here, we should see who's actually going to see it now.
Naw, they mentioned before the reset that it's actually better to revive threads.
Allows threads to get more replies and to have one official one.
Also, I'm seeing this the weekend it comes out.
It looks better than I originally thought.

I'm not even going to bother. Saw 3 was such complete crap that it made me laugh at how fast a promising franchise can plummet. Saw 1 was good because of it was a good horror movie that made it to the mainstream. It's not original (Se7en came long before), but it was good enough to please horror veterans and newbies alike.
Saw 2 was bad. The plot twist was not as good as the first, and overall it tried to be original but it wasn't as good.
Saw 3 was horrible. Plain horrible. There were three traps. Over 3/4 of the movie was a bitchfest (no more spoilers). Expecting good traps and thrills like the first? Sorry, not here. At least this movie could've ended the series when...somebody died.
Now #4 is here to haunt us? How could the directors possibly pull this off without making the plot retarded and useless? If anything, I'll just watch the traps and stuff off Youtube. Saves money and time.

The main problem with Saw IV is that Leigh Whannel is not writing it. He did a great job with the first two movies, but the third was just ok. I will probably go see this one a while after it comes out, just to give it a shot because I enjoyed the first 3.

Well, given that the original writers killed Jigsaw in the third so that no more would be made, anyone that sees this movie is an asshole and a tool. It's just a shitty film with very little thought put into it that is only being made to take your money. They keep making them because they're so cheap to make and fuckers like you guys keep giving them your money. Don't see this goddamned movie, or I will fucking hate you, and hopefully ostracize you from the Media Forum.
In fact, I'm going to consult the admins about getting the ability to instantly ban anyone looking forward to this movie.

Best post I've read today
But in all seriousness, Saw is going the way of the Friday the 13th series. Wait for it: Saw in Space.
