Closed Thread Petition

What if when certain threads close, there is an option to poll and that would decide if the thread was reopened? There are numerous threads that have been made, only to be closed because of two faggots flaming eachother, and yet, this now leaves people without a means to discuss a certain topic. I realize another thread could be made, but why bother if there already is one?

An example would be the thread on Moshing. It was really only closed because of two people bitching back and forth, and it was only like, 2 pages long.

Yes! And if a thread is dumped, there is another poll to un-dump it. Also there will be a poll for unbanning users, eliting users, making users mods and admins, allowing the creation of the same thread in multiple forums, creating more forums, creating more websites, creating more alt-accounts. There will be a poll for everything!!!!

If you really want it reopened, I'd go with Assassin by saying that PMing a mod with a good enough reason would probably get it unlocked.

Yeah, because the last five threads to be dumped really deserved a chance to be successful threads.

I think this idea would be problematic because if a bunch of people were circlejerking in a thread and it got closed, those same people could vote it open and continue the CJing.

This is a terrible idea just because of the work involved in making the poll, then following up on the results. If you really want a thread re-opened and have something to contribute to the thread, just pm a mod with the reasons.

Yeah as much as I'd like my thread to be reopened, and as much as I was annoyed with how it was really closed because two adults were circlejerking it, this idea won't really aid it. =\
