This here is a song I wrote a little while ago called "Hold On Tight" (http://www.sectionzmusic.com/detail.asp?SZID=27660)

Soft, sensual electro pop ballad with very light percussion. Vocals by me and my friend Brendan (who does vocals and songwriting and guitar-ing for our little project called "A Joyful Noise").

Lyrics (if you care):
It will take some time to adjust to this decision
I've pulled the ripcord and escaped from this collision
I'm not going to pretend that this doesnt break my heart
But fate will only bring us further and further apart

If I wait too long will this feeling still remain?
If I stand my ground will you love me all the same?
I'm not gonna give up and im not gonna change my way
But time is short and we just dont have the time to stay

So hold on tight and tomorrow will be fine
And things will be so much better down the line
So hold on tight

The phrasing probably makes a lot more sense if you hear it. Also butts.

Is there supposed to be a link to the song or something? Well anyway, the lyrics are actually pretty solid, but they do get a bit awkward at times, especially with the repetition. Well I guess that I'd need to hear it like you said.

SHITTING FUCK I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT THE LINK!

I'm literally facepalm-ing at myself right now.

Fixed.

Wow, this is excellent. In fact, this is my favorite out of all your work so far. I have no suggestions for improvement; I'm simply blown away. I can see this as a song they would play at like, the end of prom. Market this. I will buy it.

Thanks dude.

Okay the first post says the vocals are by my friend. It's actually me for the first half and then my friend comes in for that bridge and ending bit.

I'm thinking of doing an acoustic/orchestral arrangement for this also. Maybe.

This is really good. Like Talmessiah said, there's not much room for improvement. Try some minor chords from an acoustic guitar over it. Might sound nice. Or maybe just try the melody on it. Perhaps a bass instead of the acoustic guitar? No more drums though. I guess what I'm trying to say is experiment with some different instruments playing minor chords, the melody, a bassline, ect.

Great song though.

Wow, I really like this; I must have played it 4 times already. How professionally do you do this? An orchestral arrangement would be awesome.

Well I sequenced all the synths and effects at home in FL Studio, then recorded the vocals into Cubase SX at the other dude's house with a SM 58. Did the vocal mix in Cubase back at mine. Spent virtually no money on recording or whatever, it's very much a DIY affair.

Lmao no. I started actually checking these forums like 2 days ago, even though I've had an account for ages xD. Good job still.

I was listening, and cuz I'm a bass-freak, I think it needs more bass. :D

Irony ITT.

And I agree, maybe some bass would be good, but not much. Try and keep it simple, though, this song is amazing as is and serious tampering would probably do more harm than good.

I've decided that (sans mastering) this version will remain practically unaltered up until its commercial release, at which point I remove it from any sites I uploaded it to. Based on the comments here and elsewhere it seems I did a pretty sweet job of it. The only thing that I'm going to do is seperate the vocals a bit more.

In case you care about this sort of thing: the double tracks were panned hard left and right and then exported as a single stereo wav file which in hindsight was a bit silly because now there's a problem with anullment caused by the vocal compressor/limiter, which is a processor that is absolutely necessary and can't be removed. In the future I'm not going to attempt to cut corners like this =P
