This is perhaps a band that dropped straight from their mothers wombs and started kicking ass. If you have never heard of them they are an older band consisting of Jim Lea on bass, Noddy Holder on rhythm and singing, Dave Hill on guitar and drummer Don Powell. Glam rock band from the 70's but influenced quite a few artists that came later. Two of their best known songs are probably Cum on feel the Noize and Mama Weer all Crazee now which were covered by Quiet Riot.

I saw a few other bands having threads, and slade kicks way too much ass not to have one, is anyone else with me?

I've been a pretty big fan of Slade for a while now. I went through a phase where I listened to a ton of 70s era glam rock. They are kind of an unsung hero type band. Many of the huge arena rock bands of the 80s cite them as a big influence.

I prefer quiet riots version of come on feel the noise, but slade overall are quite a good band, not one of my favorites but still pretty good.

The funny thing about the Quiet Riot version was that they totally hated the song and did not want to record it. They tried to play as shittily as possible but still managed to finish the track in two takes. Ironicly it was to be their most popular song.

Really?

I thought they were fans of slade which is why they covered another few songs of theirs?

Nope. The singer was talking about it on Behind the Music or classic albums. One of those music rockumentaries.

Haha, well thats a surprise, anyone remember those adverts for nobbys crisps which had the lead singer of slade in them jumping out of a bush at people shouting "ITS NOBBY NOT NODDY!" Then running off with his big ginger chops.

Also at the height of glam rock's popularity were slade one of the biggest bands at the time?
