-Ratings don't lie. (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/946367.asp?q=rock%20revolution)
So Konami comes in 3 years too late in the current music game genre, a genre they pioneered way back when in arcades in Japan. But now, it seems like they're playing catch up to Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Here's a few reasons why:
- There's no vocals: You're out of luck, fellow crooners. You'd think Konami who also make Karaoke Revolution could easily put vocals in, but they didn't. RB and GH both have vocals so this foregoing that option is peculiar.
- All the songs are covers: This was fine back in 2005 when GH1 came out, because it was new and refreshing. Now we are spoilt with master tracks left and right. Going back to mainly covers is ass backwards. Plus, some of the songs are bad.
- The drums are ridiculous: I mean, look at it.

No symmetry and far too many pads for anyone to remember whilst looking at the screen. At least you can use the RB kit.
- The presentation is subpar: Instead of a nice isometric scrolling fretboard you got ass ugly vertical oblongs coming down with tiny coloured dots. And whilst some of the animation is nice, it's a step down from the RB/GH we're used to.
- Less value for money: RR has 40-odd tracks, all of them covers, with potential DLC down the line. Rock Band 2 has 84 on the disc and literally hundreds more. GH:WT will also sport more, better songs.
So in summary, if this came out 3 years ago, this would have fared better. As it stands, this is outdated compared to GH and RB. Since the first Guitar Hero, we've been treated to master tracks, massive DLC and tons of songs. We already have 2 game series dominating the market. There's no room here for Rock Revolution, which is a shame, as Konami were the precursors of this genre. I expected better from them.
