So basically I'm going to be recording and then selling a song on iTunes, but I can't pick a song. I've written about 8 songs, and finally, after 3 months, I have two songs left that are worthy of being sold on iTunes, but I can't decide which one to sell! So I decided I would ask you to help me decide!

I've created a very rough outline of both of the songs. Keep in mind that these are all computer-generated and since I suck horribly at programming drums, the drums in the final recording will be MUCH more complex.

Here is the first one, Artic Waters:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UTRssR3hCRY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UTRssR3hCRY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The drums in this one will still stay relatively simple but not as simple as this. I've also gone back and taken out a few measures; some repeats were unnecessary. The video was made prior to the measure cuts.

Here is the second one, though it doesn't have a name yet:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F5iOdW0o3IM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F5iOdW0o3IM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I didn't bother putting drums in this one because i'd just end up butchering them. What my drummer does in this song is WAY too complex for me to even begin to program so I decided to just leave it out completely on this one.

So, please tell me which song you liked most! And, if you have any criticism, please tell me!

Also, I will end up putting one of these up for sale. I figured there's no harm in selling a song as long as I make profit (which I will). So please don't say something like "BOTH OF THOSE SONGS SUCK FAGGOT". Well, please do if that's what you think, considering opinions are very important to me, but just be aware that it won't move me at all.

And I would also like to say please keep in mind that i've only been writing music for two years, so it's obviously not going to be anything amazing, or even great for that matter. I just want to get a head start on my career and luckily thanks to the internet I can do that. I mean, being able to go to a recording studio, record a song, then sell it online in one of the largest musical databases in the world at the age of 15 is just awesome.

I didn't particularily like the first one much, but about a minute and 15 seconds, it wasn't terrible, and then at two minutes it was better. Definately not my most favourite thing I've heard in a while.

I liked the second one alot more. It would be nice to hear with the drums sounding good. I'd definately go for selling the second one. Why don't you just try to sell both?

Both songs were really fucking boring. The first one was better, but the "build up" should have lasted only half as long as it did, if that. Also the piano should be in the build up, not at the end.

Why don't you just try to sell both?

Because it costs $20 to record a song and about $10 to upload it to itunes, and I don't know if I could make at least $60 selling those songs. I'd rather just be safe and choose one.

OK, your logic does not work here. You believe you can make $30 for either song on iTunes, yet you can't make $60 for both?

Also, sorry, Antisaint is very right. If I had to choose, I'd say song #2 but I don't think you should do either. Really, they give you a 30 second preview, and 30 seconds from either of these songs would convince me not to buy them.

Just so you know, you spelt Arctic wrong.

I don't know if you really meant Artic, but the "Arctic" as in Arctic Circle is spelt with a c.

The second one is the one I'd sell, if it were up to me. It'd be pretty sweet with some kind of tribal drum beat, like what Tool does.

I liked the second one better, but I agree, try putting in the drums and uploading it, I want to know what it sounds like. It sounds kind of flat to me with just guitar and bass.
