View Full Version : Let's talk alcohol!
Today is a very important day in American history. On this day, 75 years ago, one of the most celebrated and cherished American rights was signed into law, after more than a decade of oppression. The right to get wasted.
On December 5th, 1933, the Twenty-first Amendment was ratified, effectively ending Prohibition.
Today seems like an appropriate time to reflect, a second Thanksgiving if you will, on how great alcohol is.
Here are some interesting facts:
Beer is the oldest type of alcohol, dating back to 6000 BC. It is also the world's third most popular beverage after water and tea.
The lowest legal drinking age is 12, in Cyprus.
The highest legal drinking age is 26, in Lebanon.
So tell me about your local alcohol. What's popular? What's your drink of choice?
As far as my favorite, I'm torn between an old fashioned gin & tonic, and a Texas beer called Shiner. It really depends on my mood. If it's a special occasion I'll crack open a Paulaner Salvator or a Rogue Dead Guy, since both are kind of expensive but very delicious. Also Harp has been growing on me, but it's a little pricey as well.
Here's a terrible music video about alcohol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubfWnIid5J8
Guinness will always be number one but it being winter and its freezing standing on the terrace watching matches the hot whiskey goes down really well! Love beer and ale but nothing to the Guinness.
And alcopops are not real drinks. They're rotten.
I think beer is super duper gross and should never ever be drank unless you are already drunk.
I like whiskey.
Guinness is probably most popular here, what with it being Ireland and all. But I hate it. I like whiskey, spiced rum, and most lagers.

Great Nova Scotian beer!

Beer is great. Maybe you are just not trying good beers.
I like Rocky Mountain Bear Fuckers, it's One part tequila, one part Jack Daniels, and one part Yukon Jack. Actually I just like shots, I can't stand highballs.
But Sambucca is my favourite. I grew up with my aunts and cousins giving it to me when I was younger(I remember being as young as six and drinking it, like half a shot if that, not much).

Mulled Beer is good, for those who find beer bitter and cold in the winter.
I can't stand beer, or many kinds of alcohol for that matter. But if it'll get me drunk then horray to it!

Hey Rob I live in Texas, so I know all about the Shiner. I'm really into dark beers so Shiner Bock or "Texas Tea" as it's called is all the rave over here. There's also a big German community around here so alot of blonde beers is pretty popular as well.
Also what's great about this place are all the drink specials they have at all the bars and clubs. I mean 50 cents a shot or mixed drink, 75 cents a beer. Even when I'm broke, 5 bucks is all I need to get trashed. Throw down some Jagerbombs, Jack and coke's, and a few Bud Lights to keep the buzz going and the night is gravy for me.
If I feeel like spending money, Cabo Wabo Tequila is the shit.

Everyone here likes Heineken. I think it's horribly bitter. Corona is also insanely popular, which I'm not too interested in. Samuel Adams is my preference, but most bars don't have it. Guinness is pretty good and Newcastle is aight.
When I want to get crazy wasted, there's the straight Goose, Belvedere, Jack Daniel's and AMF (Adios Mother Fucker). Smooth sipper? Long Island with Grey Goose because they normally use cheap vodka unless you ask otherwise. Also, Malibu Coconut with cranberry juice or Jack 'n Coke. Special occasion? Patron Silver or Platinum.
I detest Jose Cuervo. It never gives me a good drunk. Always a fucked up, feeling sick drunk.
I dig on Sam Adams of all varieties. I dig on any whiskey as long as it's chilled. I can drink it warm, but don't prefer it. Prefer Jim Beam bourbon-whiskey or straight Jack Daniel's.
I also really love vodka. I drink a ton of Smirnoff, mainly because it's good and it's cheap. Comparatively anyway. Compared to Absolut, which is great, and Grey Goose, which is wondrous.
If I'm just setting out to get drunk with a good bit of people, I buy Steel Reserve 211's. It's cheap beer, it isn't too frothy, and it has extra alcohol. Honestly, I'm surprise "frothy" is actually a word.

Beer is great. Maybe you are just not trying good beers.
What I mean is if I go to a bar, I'm more likely to drink a rum and coke, a mojito, or shots, then an overpriced beer.
If we're talking about getting a keg, then thats a different issue. I'd drink Heineken on tap, but not a bottle. Same for bud, and magic hat.
Anyone ever have real, home brewed moonshine?
I live in Alabama, so yes. It's... Well, like drinking rubbing alcohol. How good and how potent it is depends on who makes it.

It's what everyone drinks when I used to live in Georgia. I'm talking about shit made in the middle of the woods with wooden distilleries and trash cans for the collectors. Ahh how I miss that white lightnight.

Johnnie Walker on the rocks is simply the best. But nothing beats a nice cold Tui beer on a hot summer day like today. I grew up drinking merlot (red wine) I still like it but only on occasions. My favorite when I was younger was 5% Woodstock bourbon an cola RTD's, but now they just make my gut ache after more than 3 of them. Of course if the goal is simply to get drunk fast Exotic Fruits Vodka Cruisers RTD's are just so ridiculously easy to drink, put a beerbong on them and a whole box is gone in a couple minutes.
Today is my third day of 15 that I'm not drinking, doing a bit of detox due to how much I've been drinking recently and the bad decisions I make whilst drunk. Also it'll lower my tolerance to it so I wont need to spend so much money over the xmas newyear holidays.

I love beer over any other drink. I am a fan of Killion's Irish Red.
As for the other drinks I like, it deponds on where I'm at. If I'm out for happy hour or a drink with my friends, I do girly drinks like Cosmos or Washington Apples. If i'm at a party,I'll drink anything striaght.

Man up and do shots of vodka you pussies. That's the only thing I'll drink, Stoli and Absolut. Smirnoff if I'm cheap or didn't buy it.
EDIT: Oh yeah and bitch beers like Smirnoff Ice and shit are great for keeping a buzz going when there's no real liquor left.

I love Smirnoff Ice from what I remember. I was pretty trash the one time I tried it. I had the grape kind. Tasted like Sprite Remix. I wouldn't mind drinking it again, though I think as a point of pride a manliness I won't drink it in front of people unless I'm already drunk.

Vodka is a bitch drink compared to other liquors. It's cool if you drink it, but for god's sake don't brag about it. There's nothing too it. Now a good scotch is better than dirty that dirty Russian trash anyday.
Scotch is delicious. I also don't mind a good champagne, beer, or gin and tonic.
And vodka is gross. The only way to make it taste good is to add something extremely sweet, and then I feel sick like I've eaten too much candy.
I dig on Sam Adams of all varieties.
I can't stand their regular lager, but the Summer Ale is one of my favorite beers.

Johnny Walker's the preference, but if I'm at a party and the beer's free, I'll go for whatever's on offer. Personal favourite beers would be Toohey's Old (thanks to Souldrinker for this), Crownies, or Coronas. Jagermeister goes down pretty well too, and all my mates drink it so it's pretty easy to get a free Jagerbomb or Mountain Don't once they're a couple in.
Maybe that was he problem... I drank a whole bottle one night. 750 mL is most likely too much of anything to drink in one night. I'll never be the same.

I think beer is absolutely fantastic, but then again, I'll drink most anything (except for Keystone Light or Sol, those are terrible). Pertaining to hard liquor, being right on the border with Mexico, I love Tequila in abundance. I also like vodka and scotch (sometimes).

a Texas beer called Shiner.
I tried that in the seediest bar in the world, just outside of Amarillo. Was actually surprised, it's a semi-decent American beer.
I got put onto AMF's while trying (and succeeding) to drink American college students under the table. It's not quite as good as a Long Island, but is still a decent way to get a nice buzz.
As for a drink of choice, it's gotta be beer, although that's been fading the longer I've been in this country. Sorry America, but your beer is fucking awful, even the locally brewed German stuff. Jack Daniels and Coke is always a safe bet.
Although in summer or anytime I'm near a beach I'm more inclined to cocktails, namely Mojitos, Pina Coladas (yes, I realise they're kinda gay, but they're still decent), or Lemon, Lime & Tequila mixes.

I like chilling with any of the coopers range (their all good) or James Squires amber ale which is my favorite Australian beer.
When drinking spirits I usually drink Captain Morgans rum which is quite good, and the Cougar Rum makes a good rum and coke but other wise is fairly heinous.
Also has anyone tried Kalashnikov Vodka? It's made by the inventor of the AK - 47 and I want to see what it's like.
I am a big fan of Scotch, Chivas or johnny Walker Black will do
If you're a fan of scotch you should try malts instead of blends.
Give Glenfiddich or Glenlivet a go, or if you must Johnny Walker Green (its the non blend version of walker)
I myself am an avid beer fan.
I am particular to a lot of foreign beers:
Asahi, Kirin, Saporro - For some reason I love all the Japanese beers, they're fairly dry but it just adds to the flavour
Heineken, Stella Artois, Becks - All European beers, Dutch, Belgian and German, have got their own distinct flavours but are all extremly smooth
as for Australian beers, I would have to say the best on would be James Boags Premium, it is just a smooth beer and the aftertaste lingers but is fairly pleasant.
Also, I've recently become a big fan of white wines, Sauvignon Blancs to be particular.
They have a fairly smooth fruity taste but aren't overly sweet and go really well with lighter meals, salad, seafood etc.
Majority of the white wines I drink are from New Zealand as for some reason the region Marlborough Ridge produces the best white wines.
The wines I prefer are - Oyster Bay, Giesen, Boatshed Bay and are all Sauvignon Blancs.
As for my drink of choice when I'm out 'partying', it has to be a flaming dr. pepper or if its a shot, a shot of tequila.

I'm sure everyone has a drink they can't stomach not because it's gross but because of a horrible experience. Mines shotting an entire bottle of jager on an empty stomach, along with a rather long embarrasing story I now can't even sniff the shit without feeling my gag reflex.
All time favourites would have to be jack daniels, jimmy, tui or double brown. Not the most fancy drinks but they're awesome for a student budget.
Oh and then theres the nights where the one reason you go out is to get your shit wrecked. In these cases it is acceptable to drink RTD's. Woodstock 8%ers, Double black smirnoff, scrumpy and 3litre kristov vodka and orange coolers are the most cost effective, easiest to drink ways to end up comad by 9pm

There's not a lot of difference between Kalashnikov and Stolichnaya, if you've tried that. Both better than Smirnoff and Absolut, but not as cool as the gun.
The only beer I'll willingly drink is Blue Moon. I've tried others and I have mixed expressions. I sort of like the 64 calorie miller or whatever it is. And as far as harder alcoholic beverages go, I like Rum (captain morgan) okay, and patron tequila isn't too bad, nor is Crown Royal.
But thats as far as my trying has gone. Oh and I've had vodka, but who hasnt.

Tooheys Old is the best beverage on the face of the earth. Anybody who doesn't drink it is a fucking pussy who needs to man up. Also, Jack Daniels is pretty great.
Ahhh, where to begin? I am well known for drinking just about anything I can get my hands on! I absolutely love Guinness ( but dont give it to me in a can or there will be shit, only straight out the tap), I love beer ( in South Africa my favourite beer is Castle), I love whiskey ( Bells), I love Brandy ( Bols and Richelieu), I love vodka ( Smirnoff and Absolute), I love shooters ( with the exception of Sambuca - I used to love it but it hurt me badly one day and I cant even look at it anymore), I enjoy gin with Lemon Twist, I love Southern Comfort. Basically I love them all like they were my children with the exception of wine, I hate wine with a passion (but will drink it if its all there is, just mix it with some orange juice or coke or something). I need a drink..

My taste for beer changes occasionally. I enjoy Bud Light sometimes and other times I can't stand it. I can always settle for a Corona with a slice of lime. There is a local brewery here and so the beer is always fresh. The thing about the local Japanese beer (mainly Asahi) is that it's a little filling and there's a slightly sweet aftertaste which is okay.
As far as liquor goes I'm not exactly picky. I prefer Jagermeister chased down with some Red Bull and a good Long Island Ice Tea. But they can't make them for shit here for some reason.
I forgot one of my favourites, when I was in Rio da Janeiro I discovered Caipirinha, that stuff is awesome! I managed to bring 2 bottles back with me and only have one left now which I will finish on christmas eve. Only problem is I have searched all over the place in SA and nobody imports kaschasa so when I am finished this bottle im screwed. Thank God it's a litre...

Anything and everything, with the exception of Jagermeister. The shit tastes like licorice, which I can't stand.
Vodka is shit unless paired with gin and an aperitif, or at least with some juice or something.
Tequila gets me violent, and whisky turns me horny.
The darker the beer, the better. Big Guinness fan. We have a local brewery - Jefferson Street - that makes this dark oatmeal-roasted beer. Spectacular for the winter, as it feels like breakfast in a glass.
EDIT: All in all, I'm a whisky man. The drink is just damned good. Jameson is the brand of choice.

Other then that, Bourbon and cokes are good, tequila is fun to shot with mates, and I love cocktails. Sangrias are fantastic. I like expensive alcohol, but it doesn't take a lot to get me drunk, so it evens out.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I'll drink jaegermeister too. It's not my favorite, but the fact that the taste of the licorice covers up the taste of the alcohol makes it bearable, especially if it's cold. We played beer pong once and I don't drink beer, so I was doing shots of Jaeger instead.

I don't have a wide variety when it comes to alcohol, unless i'm already shitfaced.
First and most importantly is Jack Daniels. I don't know what i'd do without this little fella. Pretty sure Jack Daniels is the liquor of gods.
If i get bored of that i'm either on Barcadi Breezers (yes, the second bitchiest drink there is) or vodka & cranberry juice.
If i get talked into it i'll do a Jager bomb or two, but i don't think they're anything special. Replace the Red Bull with cans of Pulse, that's a fucking Jager bomb.
And if i'm feeling the need to get myself giggly, i'll do a Quick Fuck shot. 1/3 Kaluha, 1/3 Midori, 1/3 Baileys.
I have braved Sambucca and Tequila shots in the past but they both fuck me up very badly, very quickly.

I might be allergic to gluten, which would explain my very occasional egsima, and why I always feel really sick if I only drink a beer or two. Generally if I have more than a few beer I get so drunk I don't notice the feeling and end up vomiting anyway because I'm already fucking tanked. I drink rum too, though, so I'm not out of the ballgame yet. I just need to stop drinking like a teenager and actually start enjoying my liquor.

Well, locally in Korea, the stuff is mostly shit. In a weird way, though, it grows on you. Soju for the most part is horrid stuff. If you go to the right places, you can get better, more natural kinds, but generally it's just full of chemicals. The beer is nothing to brag about. If you can handle Budweiser and such, you can get used to Korean beer.
Back in the states, though, things are different. My favorite beer is Bell's Two Hearted Ale. I love IPAs, and it's probably my favorite. Rogue Dead Guy, as Rob mentioned, is always a good one. There's Skullsplitter--I forget who makes it, or even where it's from. It's a Scotch ale, but I don't know if it's really from Scotland. And, though it kills my indie beer cred, I have to admit, that I like Corona. Put a little wedge of lime in there on a summer day, it's refreshing.
Oh, and hard liquor. I mostly drink Manhattans or Rob Roys. I also once had a nice Russian vodka, it totally blew away anything I've had in the States.

Oh yeah Bailey's is pretty fucking bomb too. It's sweet, but it's also one of those drinks you don't feel like a total pussy drinking, because it's Irish whiskey.
From my understanding baileys is in fact a girly drink and you should feel like a pussy drinking it as it is a cream based liqeur.
It has virtually no alcohol in it unlike other Irish Whiskeys, life Jamesons which to my knowledge has about 40% alcohol.
You should try an Irish car bomb if you get the chance.
Its a half pint of guiness with a depth charger 1/2 shot of baileys layered with 1/2 shot of Irish Whiskey, you have to drink it real quick or it curdles.
I've only had it a few times but its led to interesting nights.
It has 17%. I don't care how little it has though, it's fucking good.

If you're a fan of scotch you should try malts instead of blends.
Give Glenfiddich or Glenlivet a go, or if you must Johnny Walker Green (its the non blend version of walker)
Oh, I love the Glenlivet. Glenfiddich is good too, but a bit too peaty for me. Just on average, I keep the slightly more budget friendly in stock while I keep the single malts for sipping with friends on special occasions. A buddy of mine brought over some 25 Y/O single last week. It was nice, but I did not get the name. When I go to his place next week I will find out.
All in all, I am not a cheap date!
As for making me sick, I got into a drinking match with another idiot. (Me being idiot 1) The only time I ever vomited after drinking. Basically, we each had a 1.75 L of Absolute. The contest? Chug straight from the bottle until one person stops, then the remaining is measured. The poor bastard lost the game and consciousness. I kept drinking after that. I threw up for over an hour. I had toxic levels of alcohol in my system. I was hallucinating, and my friends would not let me go to sleep. I was sore all over for 2 days and could not do anything but drink water and Gatorade. Puking likely save my life. Waste of vodka and whatever else I drank if you ask me.

It's horrible and bitter, almost caustic. Maybe I haven't yet had enough to enjoy it, but it tastes like liquid awful. Am I supposed to mix it with something, or have it colder? I'm just...confused.

It's not for everyone, but yes, eventually you might enjoy it. It being nice and cold certainly helps. Most fluids are pretty terrible at room temperature.
Virtually everyone below the age of 15 hates the taste of beer for some reason. I'd like a scientific answer for it, but I'm assuming it's just because you get used to it. One day you'll crave a beer instead of a soda to quench your thirst.

It's an option, probably Japanese tradition too, but I prefer to drink it cold. I would guess that long ago when it was made there wasn't any way to chill it so they drank it hot, like tea. It's essentially a rice wine if that helps your imagination. It's very potent too.

I like some wines such as Pinot Gracio, but I wouldn't drink it unless I'm having a meal or sitting in for the evening, if I'm heading out then Jack Daniels or Jagermiester are my beverages of choice. Neat or mixed - I'm not really bothered.
Also because I work in an off license I get introduced to a lot of alcohol that I never thought I would like but now do; Tia Maria in particular actually. I also like Guinness, mostly because it has a really smooth, creamy texture, but it only actually tastes nice if its freezing cold.

Where to start...
When I want to get drunk I drink vodka.. The regular vodka-orange juice coctail is pretty good.. Also vodka with some kind of energy drink... Tho it's quite dangerous.. Then tequila shots and hot-shots of course.. Rum and coke is good occasionally...
But when I want to enjoy my alcohol I drink wine.. Or beer.. And when I'm feeling special I make myself a pineapple juice-ice cream coctail with some Bailey's... Yummy.... :)

The kid's in my town were a little off. At parties the guys would be drinking smirnoff coolers and the girls(even the sissiest of girls) would be drinking a beer. I only remeber one party where the guys drank beer I can't remeber what it was called but I believed it had the word 'red' in it. That was good. Hmmm let's see...
- Lager is ok, but I can only drink it by itself if I'm already tipsy, if not then it is good for it to be either in shandy form or with lime. If it is by itself then it has to be the good stuff, real beer. So few have tried it. They claim to have but they haven't.
- Wine is ok, again it has to be the good stuff. Cheap wine tastes like piss.
-Vodka, ah, vodka. Best served with ice cold orange juice in an ice cold glass with plenty of ice.
- Tequila, best served in a shot glass, lemon and salt provided. I do not drink this often as it makes me slutty.
Those are my main drinks.
Buy me one of those in a bar and you are so in.

I mean, they exist, but few people drink them, and it seems a lot of bartenders don't know how to make them. Don't people ever want something other than rum and coke?
A couple other drinks I like: White Russians and vodka with lime juice (not sure if it has a real name)

I avoid getting mixed drinks at bars, unless I'm familiar with the bartender. They screw it up more often than not. Mixed drinks are an at-home drink, unless it's a 2 ingredient drink that nobody could screw up, like a g&t or jack and coke. Don't try to order a Manhattan though, unless you've got low standards or a lot of trust in the bartender.
Hey Rob, did you notice a difference between American and English beer?
I'm not even sure if I tried any English beers. I had a bunch of Stella and Kronenberg since every pub in London had them on tap. Smithwicks is pretty good but I think that's Irish.

Anything and everything, with the exception of Jagermeister. The shit tastes like licorice, which I can't stand.
You sure you're not thinking of Sambucca? Jager tastes more like cough syrup.
Also gonna throw in a mention of Maker's Mark. I tried it back home and loved it but at 55 bucks a bottle it's a bit too fancypants. It's cheaper in the States, so I've been getting it anywhere I can. It's a smoother bourbon, but not in the same fashion of Slate or McKenna, which suck balls.
I see a lot of questions in here as to why we drink beer, there are 2 main reasons. The first is that it tastes so damn good (especially on a hot day and the beer must be ice cold). The second reason (for me anyway) is that beer works out cheaper for me in a pub simply because I drink it slower than other drinks. For example if you give me a brandy and coke they put so much ice in the glass theres only really 3 sips in there, the result is I sit and knock them back at an alarming rate and the tab is ridiculous. If I drink beer I will usually only have about 8 to ten drafts before I actually get tired of beer and only then will I change to brandy, that way I give myself about an hour and a half of civilised drinking while I drink my beers before all hell lets loose and I start knocking the brandy back. It actually cuts my tab in half if I do it like that!

You drink 8-10 drafts in an hour and a half? I wouldn't exactly call that slow. That's one drink every 9-11 min. How big are these drafts you're drinking? Let's say you drink a pints. If you drank 9, that would be 144 oz. That's over a gallon of beer. If you're drinking a gallon of anything in an hour and a half, I wouldn't really say you're going slow.
Are you sure you're counting your beers right?

Can't add much to what's been said, except for this one quality of wine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vinho_Verde) that is made in my homeland. It's great for traditional parties where we eat barbecued sardines (http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/portugesebarbecuedsa_71788.shtml) with broa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broa). It's awesome.
It's not as strong as regular wine, and is a tad more gassy. It's got also this green-like taste that dries your mouth a bit, so you never get sick of it, and just drink away.
Despite that, I mostly drink portuguese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bock) beer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagres_(beer))and whiskey (and Jamesons, plus some american types of whisky).

The local favorite as far as beer goes is by far Busch Light. Which, frankly, I find to be one of the most awful beverages that I've ever ingested. As for the hard stuff, vodka is the choice for the most part.
However, my preferences are completely skew to the rest of the local population. My favorite beer is easily the Corona Extra, while on the other hand I am really in the mood for a Whiskey Sour as I type. Now and then I enjoy a vodka tonic, or a Screwdriver, and the occasional sip of Jägermeister is good as well.

Dead Guy's Ale is pretty excellent. Get your hands on some Smithwick's or if you ever swing by Texas grab Brewhouse Brown Ale by Real Ale. Both are great choices.
Fat tire is a good choice, the New Belgium Brewery as a whole produces pretty quality beer.
Something I cannot get myself to enjoy is Tripel's. Are there any beer drinkers that enjoy those? I tried Victory's Golden Monkey, which is supposed to be amazing, but I couldn't find anything positive about it.

Are you sure you're counting your beers right?
Yup, I am counting right. Over here a draft is 500ml so thats about 4 litres in an hour and a half (roughly speaking, sometimes 2 hours it all depends on what mood I am in). Last night I had a real civilised night and had only 5 drafts and I was there for an hour. You see, the thing is I admit 8 is quite a bit in an hour and a half but in an hour and a half I could easily knock back 15 Brandys and a few shooters. Thats where the problem comes in because they are more expensive than the drafts!
Then you're a moron. Warm passionfruit Malibu has turned me off the stuff forever. Fuck that was bad.
Warm passionfruit Malibu has turned you off Baileys forever?
So you mixed a rum with irish cream, maybe you need to do a little more research into what alcohols should be mixed.
Also just because something is foul doesnt mean it stops you from being a pussy for drinking a girly drink.
Gannz, have you tried Knob Creek? 50% and still smooth.
I have not tried Knob Creek, nor heard of it, bit next time I'm in a classier joint I'll see if i can get some.
I'm also quite the fan of vodka, although I get called a bit of a girl for liking it. I just can't get over Belvedere or Grey Goose. They're both fairly smooth drinks and as far as vodkas go are probably two of the best ones.
The last time I got sick from alcohol was because I had smoked weed before hand, stupid gigs, but the biggest night I've had in a while had to be my 21st, went over 2 days and we started drinking 9.30 a.m. on the first day, I have virtually no recollection of either night.

Yeah. I call it a powerdrill. But it's gotta be called something else, I mean, those materials are pretty common at a good bar. Somebody's got to have invented it before me. But nobody I've talked to has ever heard of that combination. Whatever. I like it, it's good.

Plus, because of all of the juices and fresh fruit, you can buy cheap, shitty vodka and no one notices.

Steal a Gatoraid cooler, use a bottle or three of vodka, some random juices, and cut up some fruit, and throw it all together. I thought this was called a Yukaflux. Or was that only when my parents were young and it was still okay to drink while pregnant.

Hmm...I don't know. Maybe it's just a regional thing?
I like an irish lager called Harp. Its brewed in the city I live and its pretty decent. A lot of people hate it but I'm quite fond of it really, once I dig on a beer I'll stick to it loyal. It used to be a scottish beer called Tennents but I returned from the US last year and found that I really hated the taste of it.
As for spirits, anything but vodka or red wine. Those make me sick to my stomach, even smelling them.

Beware Soju... It's Korean and it will kill you.
It will get you drunk, find out where you live, then take you out while you sleep.

Theres a guy running a business out of his shitty run down apartment below ours. He sells home made alcohol.
That shit has some kick..
Depending on what type of alcohol, that may only be slightly illegal...

Warm passionfruit Malibu has turned you off Baileys forever?
So you mixed a rum with irish cream, maybe you need to do a little more research into what alcohols should be mixed.
Also just because something is foul doesnt mean it stops you from being a pussy for drinking a girly drink.
They were two seperate thoughts. I realize I didn't put a line break, but I kind of figured any human being with an IQ over 60 would be capable of realizing that obviously, when I'm talking about Malibu, I'm not talking about Bailey's.

I've got several favorites. I despise beer, and I have tried it several times. It's a taste that I just can't aquire. I'm more of a whiskey girl.
My most favoritist drink is a red snapper. It's crown, amaretto, and cranberry juice. I love a good bloody mary with dinner (or lunch or breakfast). I also like malibu and pineapples. Coffee and bailey's is nice if you're looking to get warm. If it's hot I'll drink a pina colada. If I'm looking for a cheap drunk, I'll stick with my original smirnoff ice.
I live around some hillbilly's who make moonshine. I've had my fill of it. Some brews are better than others. I think the best way to describe a good 'shine is: It doesn't have a taste, and is smooth going down. When it hits your stomach it gets super warm. I've also had some homemade strawberry wine, that was the shit.

I fuckin' love Soju, especially when you are short on Yen. Just pay for the hour and drink as much as you can.

I gave some of that to my sister last night. What a waste. I should have only given her a little bit so I could have had the rest of hers. I like it a lot better when I've already have a few drinks in me. And when It's a better quality.
Something about being mexican, I love tequila. It doesn't taste that bad and you can toss it in margaritas and drink it whenever. Margarita with brunch doesn't even look alcoholic, though I guess the shots afterwords does.

My fave is Captain Morgan and Dr. Pepper. I can drink pretty much anything except beer...ive tried and tried and just cant. I'm from Alabama...i've had moonshine....Most ppl that i know use it for medicine. If you have a cold take a shot of that go to sleep and your good! It kills everything!
Ugh...I can't stand Oberon.
Why? Are you retarded? How can you not like Belle....

I think I already mentioned soju, but it deserves more time in this forum. It is wild shit. By wild I mean disgusting and hangover inducing. It grows on you, though. My first soju experience was horrid. Never before have I been so hung over that I puke at 7 the next evening. But, that's what my first night of real Korean drinking did.
That said. The stuff grows on you. I stick mostly to the beer. But when the soju gets started, it's hard to stop.

I like Bell's. They make one of my favorite beers. But I just don't like Oberon. It's too fruity or something. I don't know really.

Stella on tap. Yummy.
It is true it is lighter and weird tasting compared to most other ales.

If you drink way too much beer it's hard to get a boner sometimes.
But then when you finally do get one it's the BEST.
So is this thread over now?
