So, how was it?
Did you have a good year? Were there any things that stopped you in your tracks and made you really think, or was it just another shitty chapter of your life?

It went by so fast I couldn't believe it. Ifinished grade twelve and my first semester of college.

Nice, I guess, I got into a university I thought I wouldn't get into. Found out about HD-movies, now I'm watching everything in HD. And stuff I can't remember right now, probably less important.

As far as personal goals go, quite uneventful. However, I've made a lot of gradual improvement to pretty much everything I enjoy. Hopefully this year I achieve at least one of the long term goals I set for myself: learn Hungarian Rhapsody No.2. Anyways, Happy New Year.

Yep, same here.
2 family deaths and a whole lot of other shit I can't be bothered to mention.
But as a whole 2008 sucked copious amounts of syphilis infested dick and I can't wait to forget about it.
Edit: Although, to be fair, lots of good stuff happened too but the problem is that for the first time in my life all the bad-stuff outweighed or weighed the same as the good stuff.
So, so eventful, filled with so many ups and downs.
If I hadn't had mono for the majority of my first semester of university, if my ridiculously awesome and expensive laptop and Wii weren't stolen, and if I was majoring in physics instead of geology, it could have been the best year of my life. Ugh, oh well.

I too was struck by a family tragedie early on this year but tried to get past that with several short lived jobs. Then I realised once again that I'm good with numbers so I took up an Accountancy course. Hopefully 2009 sees me through to Technician level.

It started off alright but slowly went downhill, although dressing as a pirate and drinking as much as I physically could was a good end. I learnt a fair bit over the year and i'm happier with the person i've become so I guess it was worth it if 09 turns out well.
I graduated, got a job, and did some other stuff. It was all pretty much leading up to 2009, when I go off to school and things, so hopefully it was worth it.

Good, actually. For the last few years I've been socially inert, in bad shape and played a MMO way too much. I started working out in the gym, quit playing the MMO and started improving my social skills.
I do spend quite a time in the front of the screen, but I don't have trouble stopping.
I go to the gym at least three times a week, got myself a six-pack and muscles.
Last night, I was in a party with 10 friends. All of them were female.
I'm really optimistic about this year. Last year of high school, which I can define as the worst in my life, and I'll finally start in a college this autumn.

More like 200H8; it were shit.
I started making games like proper style, made a shedload o money.
Turns out I've got no fucking mates anymore though. The old guys have officially disbanded, and the new guys are all 18 or 19 goin out clubbin n shit while I'm here: 17 and my stupid bastard birthday's in June. So I'm totally stranded now on my own.
I was gonna avoid startin University in September 09, but I probably should now just to get some new mates.

It beat 2007. I've been learning to cope with stress, found a new school that's a better fit, made new friends, had a girlfriend at one point, and started to take control of my life little by little. Besides, I got my family tragedies (two deaths and a divorce) out of the way in 06-07.
At best I'm going places, at worst I've become too apathetic to care about the things that don't go as well as I wish.
The good: Started dating Meagan =) Out One year Anniversary is the 24th of this month, Got my new guitar head(Which has turned out to be, by definition:The sex) Got my Ret Pally to level 80:yes:. I also stopped smoking weed, but I drank like a motherfucker this year.
The Bad: My brother died, My Best friend died (Both of which were due to car accidents, not the same accident though) My dog died, I had her since I was 5 and she was really special to me, her death wasn't exactly peaceful either.
So I guess this year was about standard, nothing outweighed the good or bad. Lots of Death this year though, My school had 3 suicides.:frown:

My year didn't end to well. But I do think it went better than some. There wasn't any deaths, least none that I can think of. There was a birth in the family so that's pretty good I guess.
EDIT: I almost had a shitty summer, but two of my best friends came down for a week and a bit so it balanced it out pretty good. Oh I guess one of my favourite horses died of a broken leg.

Good Stuff:
I started College (year 11 & 12 in Aus) and had a pretty good year school wise. I learnt heaps and got really good marks in all my subjects. I got P's so I can drive around with out my Dad and i got a car which made it even better. I came 3rd in a graphics design comp and got $100. Met alot of awesome people this year too. Went to Brisbane and Sydney for my 17th birthday.
Bad Stuff:
Got gastro whilst in Sydney and missed out on seeing the stage show of Billy Elliot. My brother moved out of home.
So I pretty much had a good year.

Hmmm, I wouldn't say this was the greatest year ever but here goes...
Good stuff: My mom got engaged to an Irishman and we should be moving to Dublin soon. My boyfriend and I have been together one full year and we keep getting closer (which makes the first bit seem kind of sad too...) and I got a lot of money.
Bad stuff: My dad died... my mom went through bankrupcy, I had to part from my bunnies, when my mom lost the house we had to move into my brother's apartment where I share a room (and bed) with my mom, I failed most of the classes in my first semester.
So yup that's some of the major stuff that happened in 2008 for me O.o

I feel bad for my parents because even though I gained my independance it means that my mum lost me and my mum, step dad, dad and my mum's first husband have all had back pain (one broke something in his back and one had to get back surgery). There's been a lot of doctor trips this year.

Longest year of my life with the most ups and downs and complete drastic life changes that normally would happen in 5 years. I'm not saying it was bad but it was long and full.
List of activities:
Recovering from illness.
Moving to a new province getting two new roommates
Meeting a boyfriend/dumping boyfriend
Travelling all over north America for 3 months straight and living out of a suitcase
Unemployment
Experiencing my first real panic attack, then one more
Moving to another province getting 6 new roommates and a cat
Getting back together with my college boyfriend
Getting dumped by boyfriend
Drastic reduction of marijuana use
1st and 2nd time using LSD
1st time trying coke
5 different jobs in total
Seeing my family for the first time in almost two years
Meeting my two year old niece for the first time.
Still when it came down to the 10 second countdown last night, I was happy and pretty at peace with the world. So I guess that sums up a pretty good year.

Not a very happy year at all for me, although this year I definitely did a lot of thinking about my future. But, this about sums it up;
- 2 of my uncles died.
- My family living in Mexico was in danger of being kidnapped or murdered by cartels demanding money, and still is.
- My family is in danger of losing a large ranch left behind from my greatgrandfather
- Broke up with my girlfriend I had been seeing for a year
Only good thing I can think of off the top of my head is that I finally found a person at my school who has a peyote plant. I'm going to go on a trip of a life-time soon, but I guess that belongs on the '09 list.

2008: The Year of the Family Tragedy
Fuckin' spot on man. I sure hope '09 trumps 08, as it's also my last year of high school (like a couple of people previously mentioned). I'll be hitting 18 very soon and hopefully I'll be going to a few good parties and stuff. Oh, and family deaths. Hopefully it stays at zero this year, theres only so many funerals I can go to in a year you know. On a global stage, I'm excited to see what Obama will bring to the table.
I just realised it's the last year of the first decade of the century. What the.

Only bad thing that happened in 2008, which was pretty huge, was a family issue that started in the beginning of the year and is now thankfully comming to an end.
I've made the decision of changing schools in january 2008 which gave my life a complete twist and basically made my year fuckin' awesome. I study something which I really enjoy, I've made lots of new friends, grown a lot of personality, and have found love (again). I actually can't be much happier with my life at the moment.

This year had a lotta ups and downs, but to sum it up into a title concerning my year relationship wise, it'd be called; "Fuck Stephen Over Year". I say this cause it ended my 2 year relationship, and any other relationship I got into, it never lasted and was full of empty words and promises, really.
On the up side, I got a lot more gigs for dancing, I finished College, trained harder, became a better dancer and person as a whole, thought hard bout my life and future, and sorted out a plan for how things need to go if I don't get the cruise line job from the audition that's taking place in February.
Overall, I have to say it was a good year for me, even with the being fucked over stuff.

Mine was friggin awesome. Best year yet if I dare say, though that's not hard.
I got a job labouring earning $1000 a week, saved up $15000, then broke up with my insane bitch girlfriend of 18 horrible months. Left the job and started hanging out with old friends whom I missed dearly, didn't get a new job but lived like a king off of my savings. Started clubbing, raving and taking copious amounts of ecstasy.
Now my savings are running low so I'm starting the new year by going clean untill I've got another job, my license, a car and hopefully the heart of a girl I'm very much attracted to.

2008 really sucked a whole bunch of balls. I realized that you actually have to have a job in order to get by and that being 18 really isn't all that fun because I've started feeling all grown up and it terrifies me. Teamed up with a whole host of other stuff this year that truly sucked meant that it wasn't that great.
However, I must note that my trump card that meant 2008 wasn't actually the worst year of my life and was actually pretty good was the fact I got a girlfriend way back in February who was and still is fantastic. And she got me an Xbox 360 for christmas with GOW 2 and Fable 2. I love her.
All in all, I believe I have learned some "life lessons" and have generally become a better person. Aside from the fact that I spend all my college time on forums.

Then, I went to school at one of the shittiest places for anyone with any need for social activity to go EVER, alienated some of my friends due to drunken antics, lost that girlfriend because we both gave up on our relationship, and have been wallowing in boredom and narrowly escaping depression all winter. FUCK winter.
Also, I got a really nice car for cheap and got me a summer job that should earn me about 18 grand. I don't know what to think, so I'll just go be cool and have a smoke.
Started off epic, then after that first three hours, it blew horribly.

It was an interesting ride, though I don't think I'd do it again.

My 2008 was FAST!
And don't give me that "each year goes by faster than the last" crap, because my '07 seemed freaking eternal...
