It's very probable. ): Taking a look at their gallery (http://store.exoticworldgifts.com/prostores/servlet/Categories?category=Elephant Paintings) they mostly do that picture in the video, or flowers, over and over with only a bit of variety. Elephants are dichromatic too (http://www.genetics.org/cgi/content/abstract/170/1/335) - they can't see past green in the spectrum (so no yellow or red).

It was beautiful to watch though.

I would have believed it up until it drew the eye and ear outline. Those are nearly pointless details that only a modern person would give a crap about (look at ancient human cave paintings -- they don't bother with such trivial details). The whole flower part was bogus.

The footage looked too blurry, digital effects look crisp. Also, why would someone go through all the trouble of faking an elephant painting a picture?

No it isn't, look at their gallery (link listed in an above post). There are at least a dozen different pictures of nearly exactly the same drawing of an elephant in that pose holding a red flower with a second stalk. Either the elephant is remarkably unimaginative, or it's obviously been trained to draw that exact figure.

You do realize the zoo keepers have some responsibility to keep the animals stimulated. Elephants are used to manipulating things with their trunks. It's a good way to keep the elephant entertained and thinking as well as drawing in visiters/ raising money by selling the pictures.

It's quite evidently been brutally trained to follow a series of generic movements that will result in some abstract looking flower. Believe me sonny-jim, that elephant is not entertained. That is one depressed fucking elephant. If it's the zookeepers job to keep the elephant entertained, throw a small spoilt child into it's cage and let it go to town and stomp the shit out of the kid. That will cheer it up. Or let a female elephant into its compound, that way it can stop painting flowers like a faggot and get some.
