DARK SIDE OF THE MOON (http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w310/arielncz/darkside.png)
Well this is the first thing in Photoshop I've actually worked hard on. Took me a while to make, around 4 hours, mostly because all I know how to use are the eraser and brush tool. I did it following a series of random tutorials I looked up as I went. I am really happy with the results, but if you think some things need to be changed I probably won't hesitate to fix it.
EDIT: NEW AND FIXED (http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w310/arielncz/darksidealternateyeah.jpg)

This is amazing. I just set it as my background.

I've seen countless fan renditions of this album cover but I have to say this is by far the best one. Wallpaper'd it :D It's simply perfect.
I've been working for 3 months on a sketch of the Animals cover but my hard drive decided it was time for it to die and take all my hard work with it and since then i've been too afraid to try again. Maybe this will serve as a motivator :>

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. This is an alternate cover I also made. Not sure which one I like better though.

It's well made and pretty decent. I wouldn't say it's anything special though, but that's just me.

They're pretty cool, I like the second one more than the first.
Hats of!

Awesome dude. One of the coolest versions I've seen.
Now, do Meddle.

My favorite Pink Floyd cover is Momentary Lapse of Reason but I don't think I can remake that one.

You can probably do something cool and different with the Wall. That shouldnt be too hard.

Outstanding
The only thing that I think looks a bit off is the rainbows shooting out of the triangle. Everything else has an incredible cosmic feel to it, but then the rainbow just looks too solid compared to the subtlety the rest of the design carries.
The gradient also looks like it jumps from solid white to the transparency a bit too hastily, I think it needs to be blended just a little bit more.
Other than those two things, it is a very clean, and very beautiful recreation of a classic symbol.
Edit: Shit didn't see the alternate one. Definitely better.

Yeah I agree it wasn't very balanced with the original light rays, they would be better without the cosmic theme, maybe they would go with a more glossy theme. I also took into consideration what you said about the gradient, so now I made the gradient bigger and I used a "pin light" layer style, I like how it looks.
Here's the fixed version.

Also, this morning my screen was a bit dusty and it kind of looked like a starry sky background behind the prism and it looked pretty cool. I don't know if I should add them though. If I did the stars would be smaller and more scattered than the ones inside of the prism.

That just may be the coolest DSotM cover I have ever seen, you got skills. I doubt youy take requests for other album covers though. Do you?
Hats of!

Sure, but that's a big difference, 'cause that one's a photo. Hmm, you could however try and do something like this guy (http://www.flickr.com/photos/24792080@N05/sets/72157604354352653/) does.

I like your second one better- but both are amazing. You have some photoshop skillz. Especially with the minimal tools you said you used.

I drew this just now on a wooden box I got from my dad, I'm pretty happy with it, but every time I pass by and look I it I detail it a bit more. I also drew one of the faces on a big black piece of poster paper but I left it at a friends house.

Wow, very, very cool. You should make a tutorial or something, they're hard to find these days.

There is a Dark Side of the Moon video tutorial which isn't very helpful because it's just a video of a guy doing it in Photoshop without explaining shit. I did this following random tutorials I found along the way. I made at least 6 different types of rainbows before finally deciding on that one.
To make a tutorial I'd have to draw the whole thing again which I honestly don't think I can do unless I found the original tutorials I followed.
Ah that's class, I like! Saved for future use as a desktop BG ;)
Edit: lol I just noticed my user title, that's awesome. i wanna keep that no matter how many posts I get.

Do you know any decent tutorial sites? I looked around tutorialized.com and found it quite useless.

I also like the second one better. The rainbow colors look much better than the first one.

That is very good but not as good as other pictures I've seen in another website. If any of you are curios or want to see the amazing art other people have created or even want to make something cool in photoshop, then head on down to...

I hope you check it out. You'll regret it... I think.
