While working on another short, Dave and I got sidetracked last week and came up with this little thing. It's pretty quick, I hope you folks enjoy it. I almost feel bad that it's been so long since the last short and here we are, giving you something 30 seconds long that we made in two days.
But then I take some pills and feel alright.
I present to you: The Hard Way (http://www.explosm.net/movies/148/)
It's worth noting that this is the first short that Dave, Chase and myself have collaborated on. We learned that we work very efficiently together. Why should you guys care? Because this might mean more shorts. It's a lot easier to animate when we're not working solo. Reply and let us know what you think of it.
Incidentally this short is the reason today's comic is going up so late. Stay tuned for that. We should just set up webcams so that our sleep deprivation can entertain you directly. :(

I had realized it has been a long time since there has been a short. Though this one was small and simple, I thought it was pretty funny.
That was great! I totally didn't see that coming =P It was definitely worth the long wait =)

i was like, WTF, then i was laughing... really. that's one of the best!
I'm not that much of a fan.
The gunshot could have sounded better, and when he was getting trampled his voice should have been muffled or something.
But animation-wise it was all solid.
You should've held that awesome sunflare shot longer.
Still funny.
Working together = less laziness right.
I bet Chase is all on your asses. Keep it up!

Why are webcams so alluring? Real people just use it to talk about their inane boring lives one dull second at a time.
As for the short, I loved the close up shot. It really built the tension for the ending, which just made it sweeter. Cool stuff.

I watched it in class, and when it ended, my teacher surpised me by saying "What the heck was that? it was freaking hilarious!"
And that made it even better than it already was, and it was pretty good to begin with.

I think I'm gonna actually try this webcam thing. Are there any good sites that let you broadcast? I know about Stickam.
Blogtv.com and Justin.tv are two other good ones that I know.
Watching somebody animate is about the most boring thing you can do, just to warn you guys. It's almost as boring as actually animating.

I just realized that the shorts are just animated comic strips.
And that's the brilliance of them. This one felt exactly like the comic strip, at least in terms of the style and structure of the joke. And I like it: it had the feel of the kind of C&H strip that got me hooked in the first place, and it's the kind that I always enjoy most. Keep it up!

well, i watched it first at HOME without sound.
only cause my mum was in the room and i thought the short might be dirty or rude.
you know... "the hard way"
but after i watched it, it looked pretty safe to put the sound on and laugh all over again!

Haha, didn't see the end coming. My favorite part is when the fat guy runs by frowning instead of grinning. Everytime I see that there's a new short I get all jumpy and exited and "Oh, yes! A new short!!" This was really worth getting all jumpy about. Made me crack up.

I'm not the Rob from stickdeath, that's Rob Lewis. He vanished at some point, but I dug his stuff when I was 14 and it's most of the reason I started doing stick figure animations.
