If there was a thread for this, sorry, but I couldn't find it.
Anyone else here play Saints' Row 2? I've always found it (since the first game, at least) as a lot more fun than Grand Theft Auto, with the off-the-wall humor and vast customization. Also, it's got a really fun co-op mode, which is why I was checking to see if anyone else is up to play this on Xbox Live.

This should probly be in Game Time but eh.
Was it a good game anyway? Like any better or different than the first one? (Which I have yet to beat :( )
GTA4 is way more advanced than SR2. SR to me, seems like a watered down GTA it lacks the storyline, and all the extras. GTA just seems a lot more polished.

nvm
I wish they would fix up the shooting system. I'd be so much more into Saints Row if they just added that slight 'tactical' feel.
Other than that, i kinda enjoy the series. GTA is a lot more advanced and professional than SR, but its still very fun if you enjoy nonsense and being an absolute dickhead about your sandbox games. Nothing quite matches jumping from a helicopter butt-naked.
I cant say much for the story either, but i love SR's style of humour. Johnny Gat is always hilarious.

Being a major fan of GTA and Saints Row, I can say they're both good but they're much different. Yes, GTA is more polished but that's because of the big as budget Rockstar has.
Saints Row just has a different feel to it. It's more relaxed. If you haven't played it, and you like sandbox games, pick it up. It's worth a look at.
As far as things go, I got it the day it came out and I still play every now and then. I'm always down for some co-op or just to help you with something. (look up my gamertag in the other thread)
Just message me and tell me you're from explosm.

Alright, as for quality questions.
It really depends on what you want. If you want a hardcore, polished city simulator and epic "rags-to-riches" story, go GTA4.
Saints' Row 2 is, simply, hilariously irreverent. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and doesn't -try- to be better than GTA4. The gunplay is fun, if not quite precise, and the level of customization is great, and what sets it above GTA4 (I'm a customization whore.)
Also, my gamertag is Disastersaurus for anyone who wants to play.
Yeh, well why buy SR when you can now get GTA4 for 20$ on ebay?

Hey man, I think you're missing what we're saying. This isn't about which game is better. It's a different game with a completely different style and feel to it.

I loved Saints Row 2, moreso than GTAIV. The Septic Avenger and Drug Trfficking missions were really fun, and the return of some familiar faces was a welcome addition. I also like how it didn't just end after you finished the story. That really annoyed me in the original.

Well it's kind of hard to continue when you're blown up on a boat and put in a coma.

They could've always, oh, I don't know, ended it differently. Preferably in a non-shit way.
The ending to the original left a lot of doors open. If they wanted to they could've followed through with some epic conspiracy thing.
Then again, i dont think people play Saints Row for the story.
