So I broke down and rented this game on PS3. You know what? It's actually not bad. Yes, you heard that right. It's not bad.

It's a very straightforward action game that borrows heavily from other popular titles, such as Gears of War, Resident Evil 5, The Club and Halo.
Despite being uninspired, extremely linear and borderline brainless, it's very frantic and highly entertaining. There is a nicely crafted combo/point system and tons of unlockables you can achieve. Although the game is short as hell (5-7 hours max), there is plenty of replay value. The controls are responsive, the shooting is easy and satisfying and the graphics are pretty decent. The driving levels and the rail shooter sequences are pretty cool. There's also an online co-op option, which is pretty fun. In my opinion, it works. It simply works. Not a AAA title by a long shot, but a pretty decent one nonetheless.
As you'd expect from a Fiddy game, the plot is nonexistent and there is a metric fuck-ton of "gangsta talk" which comes off more humorous than annoying. Of course, Fiddy's gangsta rap is always blasting in the background. I'm sure you didn't expect otherwise. The cutscenes are simply hilarious and completely over the top.
Yeah... give it a rent. It's a good weekender.
