Some of you may not know this, but I really like boss fights. To me they are an art form. Post some really fuckin sexy boss fights, the less likely I am to have played it the better. Allright fine, the real reason I'm doing this is research, but join in anyway.

Lets get that out of the way first. Shadow of (etc) is a game about boss fights, and I think this one best communicates how completely fuckin insane and amazing they are. At close range, it looks like you're fighting a damn building. Xtreme.

DEVIL MAY CRY: The fire guy on DMC 4

Devil May Cry is a dumb game for idiots and I like it. It's got fuckin outragious boss fights, and this is a good example. Well it's the best example I could get on Youtube without the player ruining it by exposing a hole in the AI over and over again.
DMC 4 especially because when you press circle he does something ridiculous and shouts OH SLAM DUNK!!

It's this giant spaceship with a bunch of panels flying around it so you can't hit it. Does that remind you of anything?
By the way this game is extravagant.

This man is stupidly good at bosses. It's ridiculous, but he makes perfect ones every time without fail. What a prick.
By the way, Noitu Love 2 is an action platformer controlled primarily with the mouse, which is a stupid idea that could never work. It's pretty much all bosses all the time and it's fabulous. Also it's EVOLUTION spelled backwards??? Yes.

FUCK YEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. No description needed, other than that you're shootin' tentacles, shootin' into the mouth of a giant squid thing, shootin' saws or whatever. I don't think any of the interesting weapons are in this video, though.

This game is intense, and I nearly shit my pants when I first saw Dagon.

Other than this, I love the Zelda bosses and Shadow of the Colossus.

Obviously. It isn't the most action-packed boss fight, but the humour is what makes it so fun and memorable. So if you're using this for one of your games Smelly, try some humour (though that's hardly something you're not familiar with).

I've never played this game, but this boss fight looks freakin' amazing. It's so huge, and fighting from the rooftops while it's smashing the building you're on looks so fun. :hmm:

A boss made out of smaller enemies. This idea has been used in many games, but I still think this is a primary example of how it should be done.

I hate water bosses and Super Mario Galaxy didn't forgive. Basically a giant skeleton fish that you have to kill while swimming. Though it was actually fun.

Basically you have to make the same formation as the boss's eye formation. And in between doing this, you have to jump on to the smaller Gyorg so you don't fall off.

I can't find the video for it, but there are some epic fights in Mega Man Legends.

In the first fight you're squaring off against this twenty foot tall spider-bot that shoots bombs and has a laser gun, and destroys all houses in between it and you to kill your butthole.

After a while, you have to fight a whole bunch of smaller robots that drive really fast at you and destroy buildings, EVEN IF THEY'RE NOT IN YOUR WAY. You have to kill all little robots before all the buildings blow up.

Later, you fight a much larger robot that also shoots bombs and lasers and destroys shit in its path. Same concept as the first boss, but still fucking rad.

I have to agree. If I recall, some people really hated that game. Seems to have earned a bit of a cult following. I loved it.

Some of the bosses were definitely quite massive. Great fun indeed.

Leviathan was much harder than the Hivemind, and there was zero grav, so that's an added bonus. Leviathan fight was epic.

It may not be a "Boss fight" as normally thought of, but the final mission in Ace Combat 5 was intense. You, as a fighter jet pilot, have to take down a giant satellite that is falling to Earth in a plot to destroy a city. The game's storyline was really good, and this was an amazing ending to it. Plus, the music may be the best fight music I've ever heard. It was epic.

The double dragon boss from phantom hourglass. You use the the dungeons item in every possible way it could have been used. I espicially liked how it came back in different forms, each requireing their own strategy.
