View Full Version : Some quick banners I've been working on

Here are some quick banners made using GIMP. I had first uploaded them on another forum a couple of years ago. I had completely forgotten them until recently. Most of these are made in less than 30 minutes, sometimes even 15 minutes, so don't judge me too harshly, as I was new to graphic editing at the time as well. I have lots, so I'll just upload 'em all in one thread instead of pointlessly uploading a bunch of them.

I lost a few of them when I got my new laptop, but these are the ones that I can scavenge.

Maybe you should post in that 'not worth starting a thread about' thread. If it took you under half an hour when you first started messing with graphics, why would it be worth us caring about? It sounds like you don't even care about them.

I'm going to make lots of these, and unlike Metalhead, I won't post hundreds of individual posts pertaining about a single object.

I am an amateur at this. Anything else means I do it for a living.

I liked the one with the generic video game characters but not the one with the homosexual filter.

Looks like every other banner ever on the net, a cropped image involving someone else's artwork.
Since these were posted for (presumably) constructive criticism, I'll do my best to criticise constructively. As I said it looks the same as all the other banners on the internet so I can't really say anything there.
The left guy on the first banner (Rakion) is blurry as hell, was that intentional or did you just get a really bad picture of him? The text in the second image is just way out of place, the third image could be mistaken for a strange fantasy fetish, as pointed out by exetra, the last image is just plain, plain.
If you cannot tell I have a dislike for this type of "art". Since these were done years ago when you were still new to graphic art, maybe you should post some new banners that will absolutely change my view on the art form. Or like a drawing or something.
