I've seen almost every episode and I just watched the last one for the first time 3hours long. I'll admit, I got misty. :wail:
I've tried watching this show many times and it really just bored me. I just couldn't bring myself to care.
Maybe it's because too many people around me keep telling me how good it was. Maybe I was expecting way too much.

I really reallllly love this show. And the first time I watched the last episode/mini-movie it made me cry too. I think the reason why I've been able to get so into this show and enjoy it so much is Alan Alda's acting. He's a genius and has so much energy and power and is so emotional.

Yes, he's pretty much groucho marx reincarnated. And once he really gets rolling its a very involving show. My parents used to watch it when I was a kid and I hated it. But it's all very witty and smart humor which is my favorite kind, I just couldn't get it then. That and the characters have a lot of depth.

I used to watch it in the evenings as a kid, because it was one of the only fucking things on, but I loved it.
The movie that served as the last episode is Goodbye, Farewell and Amen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodbye,_Farewell_and_Amen), I remember it fondly. I havn't seen it in a few years though, maybe it's not as good as I remember. Need to get my hands on it.

Thought I would add
February 28, 1983. Written by a large number of collaborators (including series star Alan Alda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Alda)), and directed by Alda, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen," as of 2009, is still the single most watched episode of a television series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-watched_television_broadcasts) in American history.
Fucking love this show. A few years back I watched it a lot with my grandfather back when I pretty much lived with him. I got back into it a few months ago when a friend of mine would TiVo it. I'd always end up watching it with him for a while whilst waiting on my other friend (who was his roommate).

I literally watched it last week and it's still just as awesome. The whole series hasn't really dated at all.

Mash is by far one of the greatest shows ever made. Ill admit the getting a little upset on more than just the final episode.
The one in season 6 (I think) when Hawkeye sends Radar out to get laid and he ends up getting injured, with Hawkeye being unable to handle it was a big one for me.
