A restoration of this N64 classic is coming to the xbox live arcade. This would be the second port to the arcade by 4J studios of the banjo series. The game will feature numerous enhancments (better frame rate, hd graphics) and implement the scrapped stop 'n' swop concept. It will be out on april 29th for 1200 microsoft points. The original banjo kazooie for the arcade was one of the few things I did not regret buying, and I expect no less from the sequel.

This is great, I played mine for the 64 up until it gave out two weeks ago.
I hope the graphics don't ruin the sentimental meaning.

Oh god. Now those retards who believed in the whole stop'n'swap thing years ago will go bat shit crazy.
Loved the Banjo games though. When my net comes back to full speed I'm definitely having a look.

Stop'n'Swop was one of the reasons why the Memory Card was so important, and showed how technologically outmoded the N64 was compared to the PS1.
I enjoyed this game, but I still felt the first one was so much better. Maybe if the frame-rate here is rock solid, it might be a million times more playable.

Its coming to XBLA on the 29th of April. I cant wait, it will be sweet. I played it for 100 hours as a kid, i just used to split up and glide around levels with Kazooie all the time. The reason stop and Stop'n'Swop was never fully implemented was because of a proposed hardware change in the N64 before Tooie's release. You were going to be able to collect the eggs, do something in the game to load the collected eggs into the memory, then turn off you N64 and put in Tooie within 10 seconds and boot it up again. It kept the data of the eggs in the memory or something and you could reap the benefits in Banjo Tooie. BUT the N64 Engineers decided to do some new upgrade on the N64 that for some reason let stuff stay in the memory for only 1 second after it was turned off. So just before BJK was released they had to take out that feature, but left the collectable eggs there.
The first version of N64s were going to be able to do it and the new ones werent :(
The Xbox 360 will definitely do it, so it should be great. I found that info on the Stop'n'Swop a while ago on google, you could probably find the info yourself if your interested in it.

One of these days I'm gonna have to get some Microsoft Points and buy all of these. If only I could find my orginal Banjo Kazooie N64 game :wail:

i think they are 800ms points each. Not too bad. The one thing i hate is how MS points come in 500's and games are in 200, 400, 800, 1200 and even 1600. Having it like that means you buy more MS points than you need every time you want to buy something. The only time you get equal value for your money is if you buy more ms points and use them all up rather than leaving them all there.
I usually buy themes or gamer pictures with the leftovers.

Both games are 1200 points.
I don't really care about Stop 'N' Swop anymore. All it did for Banjo Kazooie XBLA was unlock a few vehicle parts in Nuts and Bolts. Fuck that shit. I don't expect Banjo Tooie to do much else with it.

At first I thought it would unlock gay vehichle parts too, but it wouldn't make much sense, switch the items that unlocked things in nuts and bolts, to banjo tooie only to have them unlock more of the same? They are still the same items, why would putting them in tooie unlock more vehichle parts.
The n64 cartridges from the first game will be replaced by gold, silver and bronze egg's, while the pink blue and yellow eggs will unlock something different from the original.
And the offical price is 1200 microsoft points.
