Steam just gave me this game for free, I think. Well, I opened up Steam to fix the graphics settings on Team Fortress 2 since my graphics card came today and I noticed that it said Unreal Tournament 3 has not been installed or something like that.

So, does anyone play this and if so, is it good? It's still installing so I don't have a chance to try it out.

How did it just give it to you for free? UT3 is a pretty sweet game by the way.

I honestly have no idea. I really just opened up Steam and it said it wasn't installed. I only have two games on there, so one more kind of shocked me. I was like, "Where did this come from?"

Maybe it came from my new graphics card. NO IDEA. It doesn't say anything about a free game, though.

I doubt it would just pop up there randomly, even if it did come with the graphics card. Maybe someone gifted it to you or you popped in a bootleg CD key for the game at some point?

It was $5 a while back maybe you bought it. It is pretty awesome for an unreal game.

I couldn't think of anyone who would gift it to me and I don't use bootleg games or anything. I pay for all my games to make sure I don't feel poor even if I'm short on money.

And, I didn't buy it. It's just weird.

Well thank your good fortune then. Enjoy the game.

Is it because this weekend is another UT3-for-free weekend?
Check if it has any days remaining or similar.

If I have any gripe with the game itself, it's that your AI teammates in campaign mode are completely and utterly braindead.

3.0 days left. Must be some kind of promotion. Huh, I guess I might buy if I like it, then. Seeing as how it's pretty cheap.

I just checked my steam and I have the same thing UT3 with 2.9 days left.

Yeah, it's going to take 1.2 days to install. Holy balls.

Well that sucks... I'm probably just gonna install it tonight during our off-peak times.

I played the original Unreal way back in the day and loved it. Then I played the Unreal Tournament games and loved them too. I have yet to play the third one though. I'm curious as to how it compares.

Hoverboard. I'm in if this is good. Definitely.

Unreal Tournament is good if you like to jump straight into the fight. I loved playing this game online because I could join any match and be straight in the thick of it killing people within like 30 seconds.

I have it for the 360 but the online community is really small as is per usual compared to the PC community. It's fun as balls though.

I really love the checkpoint style maps where you have to connect bases to their main base and then destroy it. All the vehicles are heaps fun and playing with friends is fucking hilarious. A group of us just went round on hover boards and latching onto vehicles and hitching rides then launching off ramps 'n shit. So much fun.

I used to play the original, Doom-esque graphics Unreal when I was younger and loved it, but never I've never played the new ones. Are they completely different or just as good?

The graphics in the first Unreal were anything but Doom-esque.

Yeah I take that back. But how does the old game compare with the newer ones?

I only play UT2004, I've been meaning to download this one but it's what? around 7GBs?
And how the old game compares to the newer ones, it's the whole basis of the game, you're on a tournament for your life, plus you get to see some old gameplay like classic DM, TDM, or CTF.
I see that they removed Bombing Run from UTIII, that one rocked online if you knew how to play it.
