Oh thanks Youtube, that's just about the dumbest frame to start on.

A short 3D animation scene I made to basically practice and get better at it.
It was looking good when I was making it, but when I watch it as one big scene it feels more ametuer. I could probably refine some stuff, and it'd probably look better within a more interesting environment, but I gave myself a deadline to finish within May, and today is May 31st. I actually clipped a line off the end cos I didn't finish it. I kind of want to work on a different scene now.
I need to do more stuff like this for a new showreel, but every time I start workin on it I get distracted and build on that game in Flash :/
I was having some problems with changing the camera. There are some parts where I probably should've kept it where it was, but no way am I having a guy off-screen saying I'LL HAVE SOME TOASTED WHITE BREAD PLEASE when I've just spent like a day animating it.

Some people might not notice, but TRIVIA: it's the same guy copied 3 times with minor changes. I think that's funny.

Everyone seems to ask these questions so I'll just answer them straight up: The audio is from Blues Brothers, and I made this in 3DSMAX.
Also it turns out that Four Fried Chickens and A Coke is an actual blues band, which- Fantastic. I wouldn't want the Related Videos collumn filled with anything else. That's perfect.

That was pretty sweet. I epecially like the end. Good choice of movie to clip this out of.

Four Fried Chickens And A Coke has to be the most epic name for a band I have ever heard.

EDIT: Looking at this a second time, it's really cool and I think you should make a full animated short from your own storyline and dialogue. I already like the two guys as the main characters.

I like it; you can definitely see it has loads of potential. What sort of ideas do you have for different scenes?

Did the people remind anyone else of Team Fortress 2's style of character design?

Now you mention it, the mouths are similar insofar as they are very long and thin. Thats it.

If you were to put a background on that, I think it would look a whole lot more professional.

No? It doesen't look like TF2 at all really.

It probably looks like TF2 as far as the character models are very simple and made to be easy to animate expressively. The character (http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3259/24575390.png) is a free download guy someone recommended in a lecture because it's got a very morphable face.
It was a lady from Rare ltd. :hmm:

Probably other scenes from other films. The next one I'm gonna start RIGHT NOW though is: a little chase scene I've wanted to do for ages.
I want to make a whole bunch of stuff, but I need to have a new showreel for the 16th of June AAAARRRRRGGHHHHH.

You can also change the thumbnail on the video you know?

Real nice. The way he leans in at the end and makes that expression is perfect. And yeah the thumbnail is unfortunate.

Very nice. The expression on the second guy's face at the end is perfect.
And, I don't know why, but one of my videos is in the Related section... o.O

I found it a little amusing when the guy notices a creak and looks down at it. Very nicely done.

The animation on the mouths is really good. Right on, yo. It's just a bit choppy in some parts.
