View Full Version : Robin Hood

wtf? Russel Crowe? I guess it could work, I just always saw Robin as like, well, pretty much the opposite of Crowe. I thought robin hood was like a wiry skinny guy.
Thoughts?

All I can say is this better not be a kiddy version. And Russel Crowe doesn't seem that bad a choice, he just doesn't look like a Robin Hood.

Yeah, exactly. It looks like they're going to actually show him fighting for the Lion or whatever so that will be cool.

Russell Crowe would probably be my last choice as Robin Hood. They need a taller and leaner person to portray him. The body of Ryan Reynolds would be ideal.
I would pick tom cruise before I would pick russel crowe tbh.
Like you said, someone fuckin lean. I'm not sure.
Shia Lebouf haha, if he were older.

I always pictured Robin Hood as younger.
I'm a bit confused by the summary of the movie, because they're calling him "Richard Coeur de Lion" (Lionheart?) which I always thought was a different guy than Robin Hood. I hope they don't fuck it up like they did Arthur (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0349683/).

Russell Crowe could very well be shit in this. However, Cate Blanchett can pretty much act any role ever so she could redeem it a little bit. Not hugely excited for this, personally.

Oh woah, I totally read the summary wrong. Good, that means they're not fucking that part of the story up. I still think they should have gone for someone younger.
Hats of!

I donno, I think Crowe can do a fine Hood. However, I believe most people would want to see a more romanced version of him. So this film may flop.

You guys are only imagining Robin Hood as tall and skinny because thats the way popular culture always presented him. Just like vampires are always well to-do, count type people. Even though thats only because of a single movie. It's about time someone steps outside the boundaries of popular thought. I like it when that happens.

Russell Crowe has already gone on the record stating he's refused to wear tights while playing the role, and is attempting to bring in historical records to show that tights weren't invented until after Robin Hood's time.
Fucking faggot.

Crowe's a good actor, but this really doesn't fit him. I'd personally pick Leonardo DiCaprio, but only because I think he should be in every movie ever.
Still, it's better than them picking Vin Diesel.
"I spent 10 months just reading Robin Hood books - the history, the mythology, the original ballads, the legend - and then you've got 100 years of cinematic history as well. So this has got to be the best one ever done, otherwise I should be doing something else."
Jesus Christ, I've got a newfound respect for this guy, if he's telling the truth.

In that picture on imdb, it looks like he's wearing blue jeans. I think Cate Blanchett is a good choice.
CI'd personally pick Leonardo DiCaprio,
holy shit that would've been amazing.

You'll find most good actors spend months researching their roles. Crowe is pretty well known for how much effort he puts in.

I love Crowe as an actor. Like most I don't think he really looks like a Robin Hood, but I hope he pulls it off nicely.
Well, he's gotta be better than Costner.

Cary Elwes woulda been awesome if he was taking it seriously.
This will hopefully be the disaster that ends Ridley Scott's career.
