I was at this thing for my little sister at her church and my family and I sat next to this mom and her son. The son, about 12, who I described in a text message to somebody as, and I quote: He looks normal but he's fat and slightly sunburned with an ugly face and freckles. He tried to sit on his mom's lap and she looked very uncomfortable.
Okay, here's where the title of the topic comes in. He was apparently retarded. He was yelling and whooping and making these funny noises and making me pretty giggly. He, in all honesty, didn't look retarded in the least. There wasn't anything to note his mental disability other than these yells and whoops, which were very distracting.

Now, the first thing I thought of was "Man, this guy is pretty funny, he should be a comedian or something." I thought he was merely being a Kaufman, entertaining himself by happily yelling at random times, but I was wrong. After a few more minutes of hearing these uncoordinated whoops and hollers I realized that he wasn't trying to make anybody laugh, he was only communicating. The funniest thing to me about the whole experience is that he incessantly tried to climb onto his mother's lap throughout the entire show. It was hiiiiiilarious. The mother, who probably weighed about 110(pretty hot actually) kept moving away from her retarded son who was probably of equal weight.

Anyways, is it mean to laugh at retarded people? I honestly don't think so. They don't care so why should anybody else?
