That. I'm in my computer, surfing online, chatting, music, or working, anything and it suddenly displays that screen, and nothing responds, so I have to restart it manually... It doesn't have a 'trigger'; it has happened at different moments, doing different stuff. It first happened once when I tried to play "Gang Garrison" or something like that, it displayed that screen, so I figured it had something to do with my graphics card and uninstalled the game. But then it happened again outta nowhere about a month later. It seldom happened but now it happens at least once a week, and the rate is increasing..
Does anyone know what is it?

Looks like a Blue Screen of Death with a faulty display driver. If you use a graphics card it could be failing due to a fault, and then not being able to display the error message.

If you use on-board video it could be a whole host of other things. we need to know stuff like your spec. and whether you over clock, temperatures and settings. If those words seems frightening its a good thing; if you fuck stuff up trying to upgrade, its usually worse than stuff just failing on its own!

2 processors running - Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz
1.60 GHz, with 768 MB of RAM
Video Card: VIA Chrome9 HC IGP (VIA Chrome9 HC IGP)
Its Windows XP SP2, and has also Linux Ubuntu 8.10 in a separate partition.

I have never overclocked this PC, the temperatures are always good I guess (It never feels hot). I've never tried to upgrade my hardware the DIY way because I fear screwing up...

I think your video card's dyin' there. By the sound of your video card it looks like you're using onboard graphics, just buy a new video card, that'll probably fix it.

I agree with Shawnshank, seems the logical solution. Besides, getting a new Graphics Card is always exciting.
