hey hey hey, this is my band, called exxon valdez (http://myspace.com/theexxonvaldez).
i'd love some critiques.
if theres something you'd rather have me post then a myspace, i'd appreciate any suggestions.
That was awful and even then the awful didn't even start for like 30 seconds. Get better. At everything.
You need a singer that isn't ass.

1. Become better singers.
2. Pick one person to sing at a time.
3. Turn down the vocals/up the guitar.
Just because it seemed like a good idea, doesn't mean it sounds good. You're not an A'cappella choir, your voices are not angelic. You might be able to pull off a normal band, but loose this crap you have going on.

yeah.. thats only one singer, i just double tracked it left and right. and that was a second recording, the first one the vocals were barely audible and the guitar was too loud, so i tried to correct it and over-mixed the vocals this time, and didn't realize it until it was already on my computer. what did you think of the actual music part of it, though?

Is that a mexican guy with a lisp singing? If you're going to play acoustic, maybe you should sing as though it's an acoustic song, not something off the newest CD by some emo band who thinks a 10 word-long name is "punk". I kind of liked the guitar though, if that counts for anything.

I wouldn't exactly call it music. Your guitar towards the end (or at least where I couldn't bear to listen any further) was just as annoying as the singing. It was dull and repetitive in a 2:00 song. What does that tell you really?
That's a mind-fuck. Not in a good way. It's a mind-rape. Ditch the lisping asshole and don't play the vocals over the vocals, it's bad.

Stop. Just stop.
Well, maybe try getting someone who doesn't sound so whiney.
But if not, stop.
Wow, thats a joke right? It sounds like you have 2 different speech impediments.
Try taking speech therapy before opening your mouth anymore. And the funky double vocals isn't covering it up.
The guitar sucks. The only decent part was the opening riff.

What was that?
I was okay with the opening riff. Then the singing started, and wow, I think part of my brain died.
Not only are there speech impediments, but you're whining and so out of key it hurts.

I expected a lot worse going by the comments.
It was pretty good imo. I really like the lead guitar.
It's all quite quirky.
Also, I thought the singing was good. It has a very classic rock feel to me (Rush, Zeppelin, et all).

I couldn't even hear it because of your over-dubbed vocals :argh:

Even though it sucks right now, the singer has a unique voice and with proper training that may lead somewhere.
Too bad the dual-voice crap sounds like shit.
And wtf?
