This could very well be one of the best rock supergroups in a long time. Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones are playing a show in Chicago on August 9th after Lollapalooza. I've looked around, there isn't any music on the internet yet, and the show is sold out (and 18+ anyway), so at the moment there isnt a way to hear what these guys sound like. According to some news sites, we should expect an album October 23rd.

Put in your email and itll give you links to myspace, twitter, and facebook...theres nothing on them though.

Hmm...I'm interested in this from the names. But if I can't get any information...well, that sucks.

Bump.

I've been following them for awhile. Somebody recorded some high quality live versions of their songs and put them on Youtube. Link to their first song, and just look at 'More From:' for the rest. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4gSjh6xmm4) I was supposed to see them in Austin at ACL Music Festival but I didn't have enough people going, school interfering etc etc.

I'm excited to get their self-titled album, which 'should' come out before 2010.

That song seems pretty badass. I was concerned that Dave Grohl's involvement was going to make them as bland as the Foo Fighters now are, but I'm glad I've been proven wrong.

This (http://www.last.fm/music/Them+Crooked+Vultures/+videos/+1-iBckNeRMXDY) sounds amazing. Also, "them crooked vultures" is a pretty cool band name. Definitely interested in them.

A forum already? Well that was kind of quick. I see they have some plays on last fm. Are those just live tracks?

I've checked out some of the live stuff on youtube and whatever, definitely even more excited for this. I was kind of thinking the same thing Laurence, but he's definitely way better on the skins than he is fronting a band. And Desert, was that the date on the site a few months ago? With all this secrecy and everything it seems they'd be more subtle with the release date, but I guess that would be the only reason to put a date like that up there.

Yeah, I can't stop listening to it. The live versions were good, but this is definitely much better to listen to.

That was pretty awesome, Dave Grohl can actually be a really good drummer outside of Nirvana. Also, John Paul Jones makes it bound to be awesome.

Fuck yeah this is so going to Kick ass, after all they are the three most badass musicians from the past decade.

Yeah, I never really realized how talented he was until I picked up Songs For The Deaf, the Queens of the Stone Age album he drummed on.

Sounds pretty average. Dave Grohl is a homo.

He may be, but he is a Good drummer. You can listen to Probot and listen to how talented he is on the drums.

Apologies for the double post, but they have the entire album streaming on Youtube now. I have a band concert to play in, so I only got up to Dead End Friends but I love it. I definitely plan on listening to the entire thing when I get back.

Yeah, just listened to the whole album. Bandoliers, Spinning in Daffodils and Gunman are all awesome songs. I hope these guys end up coming somewhere near my city, from the videos I've seen they put on a fucking great one.

My friend has tickets to their show here in Portland on the 22nd or 23rd I believe. Something like that anyway, unfortunately I'll be in San Francisco at the time but oh well.

The cool thing about this group, is that each musician has a distinctive style and vibe that they can bring to the table, and none of them will really stand out as the 'best' or most prominent in the band. Ya know... it's just three dudes that love rock n roll, playing rock n roll, trying to distance themselves from the expectations set by their previous bands.

I might check these guys out next week. Will let everyone know how they sound live if I go.

Just downloaded the whole album, it's great. I've been listening to it straight through with the exception of Interlude with Ludes. A little bit repetitive and I think it could've used more Homme singing, but i'll give it an 8/10
