If my friend was killed as an unfortunate bystander hit by a speeding car that was driven by a mad carjacker who was fleeing the cops, would that make me be offended by Grand Theft Auto and tell people talking about it to shut up?

Alright let me clarify

I'm just interested that it's taboo to joke about rape (not on explosm but you know what I mean), basically because it's happened to real people, but shouldn't this apply to violence? "AHAHA HE KNOCKED THAT DUDE'S HEAD CLEAN OFF!" "Dude shut up my dad was decapitated for treachery last year."

I'm pretty sure a HUGE amount of people out there were killed quite violently.
