New Rammstein album set to release on Oct 20th

Yeah. Been nearly 5 years since their last album release. They were my absolute favorite band for a couple years, a couple years ago.

EDIT: "Pussy" single + the song Rammlied are now out. Leaked, I think, not sure.

Not looking forward to that much, but I hope the album is as epic-sounding (and I use that word by its definition meaning) as some of their previous stuff.

So yeah, anyone else like them?

Holy shit, I didn't even know they were back together.

I've been a fan, ever since I knew them. So I'm definatly stoked for this, however I think the earlier albums are better than Rosenrot.

They never fell apart. Just been taking a break. And yeah, Rosenrot isn't as good as the previous stuff but still had some solid stuff on there.

I liked Rosenrot for what it was, but it was definitely different. But how could you not like the creepy feeling of Spring, or Feuer und Wasser?

I hope this means an eventual American tour. :(

They've actually been considering an American tour for 2010. Right now it's just a European tour but they've been considering it in interviews and stuff.

It's a damn shame, I'd really have liked to see them before they most likely quit within 5 years or less. Even if they come to the US I probably won't be able to see them.

Right, "Pussy" single has been leaked and is all over the internet, and the accompanying song "Rammlied" is out too.

Thoughts on Pussy: Not to be taken seriously, pretty funny shit. (in English) "You've got a pussy, I've got a dick, so what's the problem, let's do it quick. Take me now before it's too late, life's too short and I can't wait, take me now or go to (something), I can't get laid in Germany!" Great riffs and electronic sounds.

Thoughts on Rammlied: Seems like a bit of an ode to themselves (I heard "legende" in the lyrics) but it's definitely a spiritual successor to their song "Rammstein" off the first album - chorus is "RAMM...*guitar*...STEIN!!" Harder and longer than Pussy and I'd say better. Some of the trademark church-like choirs in the background too. Pretty great.

Well, Rammstein's officially-released singles have never been the best off the albums, and Rammlied was originally a B-side really, so I'm still expecting better from the album after this long of a wait. There's still 9 other songs for me to potentially love. But it's definitely pretty great as a first impression.

EDIT: Album cover. Shit's fucked up lol. They really do thrive off of controversy. Wonder if it'll be censored anywhere cause of the nudity.

Been listening to the new album. It's harder and faster than most of their most recent albums, it's definitely pretty damn good. If I was to get someone to like the band this wouldn't be the first album I'd recommend, but like I said, it's still pretty damn good.

Couldn't agree more. Its good but nothing like Mutter or previous albums. Pussy has such funny lyrics though, I laughed out loud on the bus this morning when the chorus kicked in

This album strikes me as the most potentially polarizing to their fanbase. It's got some interesting stuff and is the most varied, but it's got the most potential for older fans to hate it, as only a handful of the songs approach the raw brutality of Herzeleid and Sehnsucht.

I kept hearing about the controversial nature of the Pussy video and I finally watched it. It was nothing controversial and I was like dammit, media spinning things out of proportion again, calling this a porno...there's just a bunch of boob shots and stuff.

Then I got to the last minute of the video and I was like ...oh. I see.

So I finally listened to the album all the way through, about 3 times in a row actually.

Now, I'm not going to say I was disappointed in the album, I thought it was pretty great, not their best, but a pretty good album. Just when I compare it to older albums, I always prefer the older albums.

In the first few songs I actually like the emphasized synth sounds they've placed, like the ones in Rammlied.

Favorite songs: Rammlied, Buckstabu, Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da, Waidmann's Heil, and Wiener Blut.

Fruhling in Paris was better than I thought it would be for such a gay song title. I like Pussy but it's like Te Quiero Puta from Rosenrot, its only fun every once in a while.
