Psychadelic Chill???

I'm looking for some space-y sounding chill music. Pink Floyd-esque without random clocks and phones going off. Something I can groove to while *ahem* "chilling".

I figure you guys have a pretty fucking broad range of musical taste, someone here has to know of some bands that might fulfill my needs.

Um if by "chilling" you mean smoking the devils weed (MARIJUANA!!!) I will have to report you to the police immediately. But until they come and arrest your for life I will suggest King Crimson. Also Butthole Surfers, while not that Pink Floyd esque, are pretty trippy.

I second this. Phish is one of my favorite bands.

If you like The Grateful Dead, you'd probably like Phish, and vice-versa.

I dunno how psychedelic they are, but Sigur Ros are the absolute chillest band ever.

Although I havn't really listened to them much, Explosions in the Sky seem pretty decent for chill out music.

As always you guys deliver. I'm currently enjoying the fuck out of Phish. I don't know how I've never listened to them before, they're so far up my alley it's practically rape.

I've listened to Sigur Ros before and they're all right but yeah it gets a little calmer when they come on. It's not really a buzz kill, more of a buzz chill. Which is perfect sometimes, though. Works nicely right after Comfortably Numb ends.

I wrote down all the bands you guys suggested and I'm going to systematically work my way through them. I'll probably download most but I'm definitely going to try to find some hard copy albums by both Phish and King Crimson.
