I've just recently started listening to this man, and find him oddly listenable. It's like Kurt Cobain and Nick Drake had a kid. Can anyone give me suggestions as to what albums would be worth looking into? I've listened a few of his songs, Angeles, Twilight, Between the Bars, Memory Lane, Everything Means Nothing To Me (My Favorite), and a few others.

My favorite is XO, particularly because waltz #2 is so beautiful with it's haunting vocals, tinkling piano yet these really dark suicidal lyrics. I got to know that one really well cos I've done a cover of it before. This whole album is on some places sweet and touching and in others a brilliant insight onto a really troubled mind.

Can't say I don't like any of his stuff. From A Basement On A Hill is my favorite at the moment. XO and his self titled are really good too. Waltz #2 is probably my favorite song of his.
Listen to Heatmiser too. His more Rock oriented band.

Roman Candle has No Name #1, and that's one of the best things he ever did. I recommend checking out that song somehow.
A good album to start on is probably Either/Or. Everything on that album is great. 2:45 AM is one of the few songs that busts me up every time I listen to it. I hate to give you a different suggestion than anyone else, but it probably really is the best thing to start on. XO is great, but not as full of essentials. Same with his self-titled. The man didn't do anything bad, so it's really hard to pick any single album. My first was Figure 8, and that's a fucking amazing album.
Start with Either/Or, but make it a point to hear all of them. You won't be disappointed.
