What kind of music does everyone like? The kind of music a person listens to tells a lot about them, plus I've been curious lately.

I'm going to guess and say you are 12-14 years old, Am I right?
I went through the same music phase.

Right now I'm listening to two types of music. Half and half.
90's rap when I'm high, because its slow and easy to understand. Very trance-like.

And heavy metal, Shit like Carcass( i know its old, they still rock)
Amon amarth , soilwork, COB, bathory, God forbid (I'll never get tired of them)
Dream theater, and a lil of trivium.

I don't think I'll ever go as hardcore as goatwhore or cannibal corpse because I really cant get into it as much as I listen.

I'd recommend artists like Nas, Immortal Technique, Atmosphere, Blackalicious, MF Doom, Ice Cube and Jedi Mind Tricks. Those are all pretty good but it really depends on what you like your rap to be about.

There's plenty more that I listen to but those are jus some of my favorites.
By the way I think 3-6 Mafia is shit. So if you want to take my opinion be wary that these artists are very different from 3-6 Mafia.

I listen to shitty indie bands that no one likes such as Metric, Neutral Milk Hotel, Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade, The Essex Green, and many others. I also enjoy the musical styling of They Might Be Giants, The White Stripes, and The Arcade Fire.

I like most types of rock & metal...there are a few genres which I try & stay as far away from as possible though, like hardcore & emo...too unoriginal for my taste, no offence to anyone who likes them.
My favourite 2 genres are glam & sleaze rock...bands such as:

Buckcherry
Motley Crue
Vains Of Jenna
Guns 'n' Roses
Babylon Bombs
Velvet Revolver
Skid Row
KISS...etc etc

I'm also a big fan of old school metal:
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Metallica
Slayer
Black Sabbath
Motorhead

Also, who doesn't like straight up rock n roll like the Rolling Stones & Aerosmith?

Rock on.

I'm into all kinds of metal, although my favorite is Black metal. I guess Power is next, and then Goregrind.

I like most kinds of Rock and some metal, but I'm more into the first. Well, actually I just hear anything I like. It's kinda hard to define my music taste - maybe you could say, if there are some good guitar parts in a song, i like it. When I'm supposed to tell what I like about a song, it's always the guitars. Anyway, check my last.fm-profile if you want to: http://www.lastfm.de/user/Wurst_Freddi
And yes, there are even some hip hop acts. Even that's not really my music taste, but there are always exceptions.

Anything but emo. Guns N' Roses, Lamb of God, Tupac Shakur, Daughtry, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Amon Amarth, Soulja Boi, Joe Satriani, Three Days Grace... Lot of variety. I like rock cuz it's catchy, metal cuz it's extreme and meaningful, shred cuz it's what I wanna sound like, rap/r&b cuz you can dance to it, techno cuz it's got the best bass beat (lolliteration), country cuz it's, well, it's country. The only thing I can't stand listening to is people screaming and whining about how their life sucks over mediocre at best guitar and shit melodies. No offense, fans of emo, just not for me.
