Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46V-6rZt_tk)

Expected to come out October 12th.

Apparently both Vin Diesel and Jason Statham were going to play the parts of Agent 47. Jason Statham actually got voted as the video games fans choice but turned down the role.

Thoughts? Personally, I'm excited for it. While it definately won't be the best movie ever created it'll probably be a decent action flick with some kick ass killings by everyone's favorite Hitman.

That sucks that John Stathan turned down the role I think that he would probably be better for this movie than Vin.

Even though I want this to be a good movie it probably wont since nearly all movies based on video games have sucked balls. Though I might still see this.

I just hope that the Halo movie is good too. I might see this movie. I haven't played the franchise but I heard its pretty realistic.

I also heard that they are making a Rainbow Six or Spilinter Cell movie which in time I hope to see.

Frankly the trailer disappoints me.
It looks way to much like an action flick when the whole point of the game was to be a kind of "Hidden in plain view" killer.
I'll probably see it anyway though XD

Isn't it, Jason Statham? Vin Diesel isn't going to be 47 either. It's Timothy Olyphant.

I saw the trailer. While I'm a fan, I can't say that it has a very Hitman like feel to it.

Yep, it is Jason. That my friends is why you don't create threads with more than 1 window open :ahe:

Both Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell are being made into movies with expected release dates of 2010. The rights have also been bought for a Gears of War movie.

As much as I would've liked Jason Statham, it would've just been like watching the Transporter. Vin Diesel wouldn't have worked either. I'm glad they picked an actor that isn't too well known, though even in the trailer he shows too much emotion.

It might turn out OK, but I'm not expecting much from this one.

I just hope that the Halo movie is good too.
Don't lie to yourself, you know that one will suck horribly.

The rights have also been bought for a Gears of War movie.
Part of the script for that was leaked a while ago, and it seriously looks promising. As long as they don't fuck up the characters, or overdo a script, it'll rock.

What Kwanza and Intestiny said; it's Timothy Olyphant. I think this movie is going to be shit. Plain and simple.

I hope it surprises me.

Shit your right, its gonna suck ass if they don't have the voice actors.

Both Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell are being made into movies with expected release dates of 2010.

Either way, I'm not expecting the shiznit, I just expect more of a "good movie". But the Halo movie I'm expecting more of a crash and burn just like the heindenburg.

Olyphant... Has he ever actually played a charater that you weren't supposed to hate? I think my mind is programmed to hate him too much, so I'll probably hate him in this movie.

To be honest, Statham would have been the best choice and I've been saying that for years. It does suck that he turned it down. It seems right up his alley. It's the only kind of role he plays.

Yeah, but they might as well have called it Transporter 3. Still better than Olyphant, though.

The movie might've even excelled in it's soundtrack, but NOPE. They aren't getting Jesper Kyd to do it, so it'll blow. The soundtrack in the games was always a selling point for me.

Allen

Yeah, that's what I heard, and it pissed me off. The soundtrack created the perfect atmosphere for the game. Though the movie will probably feel nothing like the game anyway, so meh...

Kyd's rendition of Ave Maria was beautiful, the one in the trailer was butchered. It really pissed me off.

To those who haven't heard it, it's from Blood Money.

Now, compare that to the awful one in the trailer, and you'll see why Kyd missing is really tragic.

Why did Jason turn it down? To do War?

Why did Jason turn it down? To do War?

Probably, but at least War puts him in an original type of role where he plays as a professional killer in a fast-paced, adrenaline fueled underworld.

The teaser trailer looked pretty good. I'm not sure if I've ever seen Timothy Olyphant in any films before so I can't really say whether or not he'd make a good 47, but I think David Bateson (47's voice) is a dead ringer for him. I was actually looking for Silent Assassin earlier too.

Not too sure on that one, maybe they just didn't feel he was right for the part. I'm just happy as long as Vin Diesel isn't in it.

If Vin Diesel is in it, I'll watch it. He is one of my favourite actors. Actually, I would probably watch it anyway, I played all the games. Should be cool.

I'm glad Vin Diesel didn't do it, don't think he's that great an actor and wouldn't have done the role any justice. I just hope that there's more stealth in the movie than what the trailr shows. Hopefully its just marketing, explosions sell and all.

This Olyphant fellow, I must look him up his name doesn't ring a bell.

I never really liked Vin Diesel, he was kind of cool when he was in xXx... but when he did that one movie where he was a babysitter ruined it entirely.

I'm hoping that the explosion is a distraction. I've done it before in the games; set up a mine and then blow it up to get everyone to check it out. Then again, if there were guards running towards it that most likely isn't the case.

It does show at least some promise. Check out the scene where Agent 47 is at the doorway with his gun pointed at one of the men in the room. Both men are completely oblivious and (judging by how the games are played) if Agent 47 can get that close to his target without some kind of alarm going off then he most likely used some stealth or killed some dudes and took their clothes.

Agreed. Way too many explosions, even though I commonly used the RU-AP Bomb on people. The movie should be all about garrote/syringe/single shot to the back of the head/sniping/stealing clothes.

What you do in the game, not what you think will make people go "WOAHMG EXPLOSION!"

Will Halo still be directed by the dude from lord of the rings?

Halo movie at this point is considered dead, since no-one has really gone ahead with it yet.

Fox has bought the rights to it now and says that it will go on. It'll still be ass though.

New trailer, click the one on the left. I have to say, I'm at least a bit more excited about this movie, now. I'm getting used to Olyphant, and he looks pretty slick in the suit.

Crap man, I had only seen the teaser. That looks awesome.

I have to bitch about the guns in the "T" being what looks like PP9's though.

47's are Ballers, 1911's I believe.

And 47 doesn't have to shave...

I think David isn't going to be in Hitman mainly because he doesn't appeal to the audience... "Audience" being America, which is insulting the game really.

Instead they want someone who looks like a kid and has never played a hitman game so has no idea who 47 is.

That trailer just made me even more excited. It shows potential. We'll at least get to see some awesome action sequences.

But what's up with the girl? Agent 47 has no emotions. He can't love.

To be perfectly honest, as much as I loved the Hitman games and as fun as they are, the original plot was a bit dry. I think a little deviation in the film wouldn't hurt at all.

I think all things said and done the movie is still going to be really good. Jason Statham couldn't have played an authentic Agent 47 because Jason Statham is way to gung-ho and guns-ablazing.

Also; I will be seriously pissed off if that girl in red turns out to be a love interest or something. I will fucking hunt down the director and shoot him if this is the case.

Or maybe she is a target and he's lured her there to kill her. Yeah, I like this version better.

This is supposed to be the script.. I dont really wanna read through it to check if its the real thing, but its been distributed around on IMDB.

Some dude on IMDB about the script:

I read the script today and liked it. It started out solid and showed you that 47 was a no-nonsense sort of person and that he would do anything to get the job done. As the monologue spoke for itself. The action sequences are well built, not overgoing like in some movies, but staying at their limit and not packing on too much collateral. Especially the train station sequence. In a normal action movie, the hero would be on top of some booth shooting wildly at the enemies, but not 47. He just moved through the crowd, found cover, and took out his opponents in a subtle and somewhat private location. The romance is defended with the conspiracy type sub-plot. We have some great bad guys and the good thing is, some of them live, which makes room for a sequel...

All in all, Hitman lives up to the games with its generic Silent Assassin atmosphere and a nice bland of subtle comedy and romance. Although rushed and lacking some deep thoughts as to the nature of 47 himself and not really feeling like a product of the games, it is still sure to express 47's character on the big screen this fall.

8/10 Is my score.

I agree with most people in this thread, I seriously hope they have stealth to it. That's basically the game, when I heard there was going to be a movie I was looking forward to some perfectly executed kills. I love this game, and I'm glad Vin didn't get the role.

i think tim could pull off the violence bit , i mean weve all seen the girl next door, he was a fucking nutcase in that , im sure hell do ok. but overall it is a very bad choice, hes too young to be a professional killer
