Currently, I'm running a laptop with a 1.7Ghz Proc, and 256MB of RAM. Still using XP as well. Luckily, it's virus and ad/spy/malware free, therefore still runs pretty fast.
If you do have a machine with some pretty awesome specs we are going to need Windows System screenshots, or the equivalent for Mac's and Linux etc.
In other words, pics or it's a lie.
Also, did you build it yourself, or buy it readymade.
G&S material me thinks.
I'm running a G5 Mac Pro with 2 x 3.0GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon processors.
Currently 5GB ram, awaiting my 2GB per slot sticks which will take me up to 16GB ram.
2 x 30 inch cinema displays.
Approximately 1.5 TB harddrive space.
I win - thread over.

I don't know my laptop specs, but it plays WoW, and until it doesn't I'm not fussed about the shitty technical details.

You just admitted to playing WoW. Respect just jumped out the proverbial window, landed on the concrete and got hit by a double decker bus.

You know we're both wasting our days on an internet forum based around stick comics, right? Also, you vist the Prussian Blue website.
You upgraded. :P
Well no, my Video drive's have been RAIDED to a single 1.3TB drive. My system drive is a further 250GB. Thus, through the complicated mathematical process known as addition, we get "approximately 1.5TB harddrive space."

You're running XP with that kind of processor and the minimum RAM requirements. I doubt that's "fast."

I have a laptop, that runs on Windows 95. and nearly 50MB of RAM. With a 400MB Hard-Drive. Old-school.
I'd rather have the most souped up computer I can get. Mine gets about 1.60GHz and on Duo Core.

I just build up my new pc (built myself)
Specs:
22" Daewoo monitor (1680x1050 HD res)
Intel Core2Quad Q6600(4x2.4 gHz processors)
2GB DD2 Ram (I want to upgrade it to 2GB Dual Channel because its so cheap right now, about $60 for 2gb ddr2 ram here)
NVidea 8800GTS with 320mb ram - Basically I'm waiting for the new 9series to come out, when I'll sell this and buy one of the top range 9 series - about twice as powerful as this)
DVD writer
Crappy stereo speakers
Crappy mouse + Keyboard
~300GB HDD space - also might upgrade soon since it's so cheap to get even a 500gb Seagate. Although eventually they will bring out HDD with a buffer of about 100mb compared tro 16 or 32, which means way faster load speeds.
What im most proud of is the build itself - I built it in a Micro ATX case with watercooling on a budget, granted i could do with some new peripherals the whole machine only cost me about $1600 - the monitor being a fair $230 chunk of that. The uATX case is black and had clear plastic panels on each side- so i toook them out and repalced it with some black wire mesh (which i cut and painted myself) and then put in some Blue LEDs to create a nice glow - i'll see if i can take some pictures with my webcam.

I have no idea what any of this means but my computer specs is telling me I have an Intel Pengium 4 3ghz; 2gb ram; XP Home Service Pack 2 and my video card is a NVIDIA GEForce 8500GT.
Like Quaddy, mine plays WoW so I'm happy :)

I have an Intel quad-core with 4 GB DDR2 RAM, 800gb of HDD space (2 HDs, I have a lot of media). Nvidia GEforce 8500gt video card, SoundBlaster XI-FI fatality sound card running on XP pro. I built it and am currently saving up for a better video card.
oh and I also have dual monitors. Theres a lot of room for improvement but I'm happy with it.

Heh, oh man. Well I'm on a HP Pavillion from 2000.
20G of hard drive space (nearly half of which is taken up by music alone).
Power supply replaced with one from a computer from the early 90's (So the casing won't fit back on).
Probably a whole armyforce of viruses since I do all my downloading and all the risky stuff on this machine.
Intel Celeron Processor
797 MHz and just recently upraded to 256 MB of RAM
Also, I'm running XP, but it's always been bogged down so I finally took the initiative to streamline my properties so that, although I'm running XP, it actually runs pretty smoothly.
I really only use this computer as a music center and occasionally web browsing when I can't use the laptop my family has.

How the fuck can you run WoW and Counterstrike with:
-1.6ghz
-512 mb ram
-128mb video card
That shouldn't work, or if it does, it must lag like fuck.
I have trouble running BF1942 with 2.4ghz, 512mb, 64mb video card, mainly because of the video card, but when my dad had his old computer that had 2.2ghz, 512mb, 128mb, he couldn't run CS:S because it lagged like fuck.

iMac. The one's with the swivel heads.
OS X Tiger, 800 mhz, 1gig Ram, I don't even know the graphics card.
It's somewhere around 7 years old. Runs WoW fine.
My computer is a mix between shit and awesome.
My Motherboard is like bitchin with graphics and hella memory. (GeForce 6600 or something and 3 GB of RAM). And it's some Dell.
But my moniter is the worst. It's a different brand, it's one of the huge-desktop computers (My flat-screen broke :wail:) and It changes color-shades. Even though I'm color-blind, it's still annoying to see the color shade jump back and forth...

800mhz? And 3gb ram? I don't know much about apple products, but, the fuck?
On a pc you can't connect a shitty old CPU to a really good Motherboard, just doesn't work.
Maybe you have something like this? 3x 1GB DDR2 800mhz RAM, and then your CPU would be something else, like above 2.0ghz.
Ok so I had a look at the Minimum Requirements for WoW, and I am suprised.
Windows® System 98/ME/2000/XP OS:
* 800 MHz or higher CPU.
* 256 MB or more of RAM.
* 32 MB 3D graphics card with hardware Transform and Lighting, such as GeForce 2 or better.
* 4 GB or more of available hard drive space.
* DirectX® 9.0c or above.
* A 56k or higher modem with an Internet connection.
Mac® System OS X 10.3.5 OS:
* 933 MHz or higher G4 or G5 processor.
* 512 MB RAM or higher. DDR RAM recommended.
* ATI or NVIDIA video hardware with 32 MB VRAM or more.
* 4 GB or more of available hard drive space.
* MacOS X 10.3.5 or newer.
* A 56k or higher modem with an Internet connection.
I would have thought the minimum would be something like this:
* 1.8 GHz or higher CPU.
* 512 MB or more of RAM.
* 128 MB 3D graphics card with hardware Transform and Lighting, such as GeForce 2 or better.
* 4 GB or more of available hard drive space.
* DirectX® 9.0c or above.
* A 56k or higher modem with an Internet connection.
But from what I've heard, the Recommended are like, 1gb ram, 2.4ghz cpu, 256mb video card.
Meh, I'm really confused as to how you can play such a game on such a shitty computer o.O

They both work fine :indiff: WoW runs at 40 fps steady and CS:S runs at about 50. The only problems I ever have with lag are my internet, not my computer.
Edit: Most of my WoW graphics are turned low.. Not minimum though, just lower than maximum. CS:S, on the other hand, I haven't touched the settings for.

Weird... I have given up on playing Battlefield 1942, because it just lags too bloody much, get more than 20 players on a map, and i start getting jolty, I am running before mentioned, 512mb ram, 2.4ghz, 64mb vid card. I have been running on lowest possible settings, and it still lags. Isn't my internet though, 4mb/s download, 2mb/s upload.

You just admitted to playing WoW. Respect just jumped out the proverbial window, landed on the concrete and got hit by a double decker bus.
Funnily, enough my respect for him, jumped back in. Though it is a little flat still...
I have:
-1.77ghz
-1 gb ram
-128mb video card
and wow runs fine for me, which is all i play on nowadays. (and i hardly play it now) Personally i can't see how you could fill a 1.5TB hard drive.
Edit: I believe blizz set the minimum requirements to that so they could get more customers. That information is from pre-beta and WoW is more -believe it or not- polygon heavy nowadays.

4 GB Dual Channel 667 MHz RAM

250GB HD
And my 20" Samsung SyncMaster 2032BW monitor

3.06ghz Pentium 4
1GB ram
256mb Radeon X550
200GB hard drive
Windows XP Media Center Edition
I need a new graphics card pretty badly. Mine still plays city of heroes fine but I tried the Bioshock demo and because my card uses Shader 2.0 it can't run it without the fix. I've started to run into games where I can't even play at the bare minimum, though this isn't that big a deal because the shader 2.0 stuff is pretty limited to just bioshock. I'm probably going to pick up some more ram soon and another hard drive.
3.40 ghz P4
2 GB DDR2 RAM
256 mb ATI x300 (Getting the nVidia 8800 ultra for my birthday next month)
160 GB HDD
Windows XP Pro
It cant play many games because of the shitty graphics card but other than that, it's a fine piece of machinery. Cant wait for the new processors to be released in november. When I get Vista and a new motherboard with more RAM slots I'll upgrade to about 10 GB RAM.

Mine is a piece. These are approximations-
RAM- 350mb
Processor- 1.6 ghz
Graphics Card- Radion 9000 (or something close) 64mb
Hard Drive- 80GB
OS- Windows XP
And it's something of a frankenstien too. It started as a Windows 95 piece of shit when I got it in 2001. Then, I got an upgrade on the HDD, from 8 gigs to 80. Then I got a new graphics card, went through 5 monitors, 4 keyboards, and 3 mouses. Basically, now it has a cream-colored case, black monitor, white keyboard, and gray mouse. It looks fucking ugly.
Just the basics of my omfgwtfpwnz computer:
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
4GB DDR2 RAM
Intel Duo Core 6600 @ 2.40 GHz.
Oh and ofcourse, Windows XP SP1! Ain't gonna get that crappy Vista, nono.
P4 2.4ghz with 1.5bgs of ram.
9600xt video card.
I need to upgrade but there is no need when I dont really play games.

Also my PC specs are shitty : AMD Sempron 1.6GHz, 256 mb ram and a Nvidia 6200 video card that has 128 mb ram.
Gonna post my Laptop specs, when I get on it.
