No, it's a very old comic I made months and months ago. I posted it in the old Fan Art, I was just pointing out that they were similar.

That was kind of the point I was trying to make. If somebody who isn't known for his great comics makes something like that he gets flamed, but when a famous comic maker makes it, it's good. That's not right. You should rate a comic on the comic, not the maker.

I feel kinda bleh because I actually really liked Mr. Bird. Yeah, I know it was predictable, but I felt like it captured something... the simple naivety of children, their trials against nature, experiencing life, etc. Maybe I'm in the wrong place with some of this stuff.

The art isn't as good as I hoped, and the whole "necrophilia" joke might be over-played out, but I figured it was a good place to start. I'm planning on starting to use a tablet soon so hopefully my art gets better?

(As for actual flash tips, what smoothening do you guys use? It was defaulted to 50 when I opened it up, but I found that to be brutally overdoing it. I eventually set it to 40 (which explains the somewhat change in style and drawing within this one comic) and felt better with it, but then again, I wouldn't know)

Criticism appreciated, and if you feel like telling me I suck, that's cool too, I actually have a self-esteem that isn't destroyed by internet comments :P

I'd also like to say that I really like Ursers', Shagg's, Hats of's, Relap's and other people's work from the first couple pages. xD

as for the file format saving, I did save it as a .png at first, but for some odd reason when I loaded it into image shack it was completely black.... hmmm, maybe I clicked the wrong file and in fact saved it as something else...

Hm...indeed, Germany's media does apply censorship in a way. I absolutely hate it that they cut out all the scenes with violence in it out of movies, which means all the showdowns. GREAT. Also, I fail to see the point of games like Empire Earth being adult-only (!).

Then again, we have no problem at all with nudity or controverse issues. Okay, it depends on the issues - noone will be able to produce a film that glorifies Hitler, for example, even as a joke. But that's country-specific, ofc.

I wouldn't say our media was STRICTER than others. It has its own rules, rules most of us find stupid, including me...but that's just a system that's overprotective, not overregulative. I would be more pissed at having to live in a country as prude as America, when it comes to issues that have to be kept from the eyes of children (aka SEX)...or alcohol only at 21, now THAT's overly strict ^^.

Back to the point, I loved most of the recent comics - thank you all for making this thread enjoyable. Happy birthday, MI.
