Tony Scott is apparently remaking one of the coolest films ever made: The Warriors. Not much is known about it except for the fact that the gang and Cyrus will have the same names (as of now). It is also rumored that the movie is going to be the follow up of Tony Scott's film Deja Vu.

Why can't us Americans leave awesome movies alone? The Warriors is an amazing film and had some of the most memorable dialogue, characters, and scenes. I hope to God Tony Scott gets this film right; which is highly unlikely.

The original Warriors movie was awesome, but it pales in comparison to the actual book. I suppose I could use the same line of argument against the original movie vs. the book, but I won't because I enjoyed it so much.

Modern film has been bereft of unique and interesting ideas for quite some time now. When someone is out of original ideas, what do they do? They rehash somebody else's idea under the guise of "re visioning." These films are usually good for eye candy, but lack any kind of substance whatsoever.

Nothing wrong with the original. It's one of my favourite films ever and i doubt very much that you can find anyone apart from a choir boy who can say "WAAAAARRRIIIOOOORRRSSS, COOMME OOOUTTT TO PPLAAAYYYY-EEEEEE-AAAYYYYYY" as well as the original bloke.

I loved the original, and there's really no reason to make it over again...

But then again, this is the man who did Domino, there's a chance he won't fuck it up.

I read somewhere a while ago it is going to be set in LA and have completely different gangs and characters. It will have the same plot - the main gang needs to get back home. That, and Cyrus of course, is all they are keeping from the original, apparently.

Warriors is a fucking CLASSIC film. No doubt this will be a fucked up remake, no matter how good he is or how hard he tries. I'm thinking of never, ever watching the remake before I've even seen anything about it.
