A C&H forum

There are a lot of dumb C&H related threads in the GF, and they always end the same way. Everyone mocks the poster, and it gets dumped.

What if I made a forum for C&H discussion. That way we could sort of keep people who join the forums just because of C&H in their own little place.

I think anything worthwhile about C&H can be put in general. The reasons the threads are dumped most of the time is "lololz todays comic was teh good!" I don't think a C&H forums will stop those threads, just redirect them.

Also i mean what would the forum be used for? Maybe a discussion on the days comic, but i think that would get old really fast. We have a fan art thread already, so unless you let people post fan art there i don't think that it would be used enough to do any good.

Well it would be a good idea, but you'll mainly get "I loved today's comic lol!" So unless you want that, it won't end well.

Maybe if you were to do that, you could also make it sort of like a welcoming new people thing. Because that could work out really well. Another forum I used to post on had one, newbs could ask about stuff and get a feel for the place there before posting in the other parts.

I think most threads that get dumped are "i dont get todays comic, lul" or "what do you guyz use to draw" and then everyone from spame swarms in and redirects them to lemonparty or tubgirl. A C&H forum would just be a discussion/art forum. There wouldn't be too new of a concept, but it's not that bad of an idea.

I think you've tried something similar to this several times with a "discuss today's comic" thread which all invariably get closed because it just ends up being people giving a rating out of 10 or saying "I loved todays comic!","Todays comic was shit.". I don't see a whole forum for that working any better.

That's a good idea. You could put in FAQs and a little biography about the site and the Admins. You could also put in all the rules, and it might help the forum from having a huge surge of noobs that will just go and break the rules. 300TH POST

We already have a forum for people to act like retards in, and it's called Spame. A C&H forum would be pretty dumb, Rob.

It always happens because spamers like to run into the GF and post in crappy threads. Just like how they hate the GF, but ironically are always ready to make birthdays threads in it.

But nevertheless, a forum strictly for C&H sounds like a great idea. I'm just afraid spame would ruin it like everything else.

There could really only be two threads about C&H: "Discuss Today's Comic" and "What's Your Favourite C&H Strip?"

Wasn't the description "All things Explosm and some things non-Explosm. Indeed, it is a general forum." I'm pretty sure Cyanide and happiness fits under all things explosm. We don't really need a C&H board because there are very little topics worth discussing on C&H. The main reason they get dumped are because they're stupid.

YES! There needs to be a place where people can actually talk about the comics without getting flamed. Seems to me this is a comic forum yet whenever someone brings up the comics it's a bad thing. What's up with that?!

Part of it is because the forum community far outdates C&H. A lot of people are here for the forums and don't give two shits about the comics, which is fine.

But a lot of C&H fans assume everyone is gonna be gung-ho about their "WHICH C&H COMIC REPRESENTS YOU" thread, and then when it gets dumped they probably think we're a bunch of assholes.

I think those thread are for people that don't read the faq. They read the comics, which they find amussing, and think,"Hey I wonder how they do that? I KNOW! I'll make a thread in the forums because when I send them an email it (more than likely) gets ignored."

I know you guys get a shit load of emails everyday about the comics and people submitting their ideas for comics and their MSpaint or GIMP renditions of their favorite web comic. You guys should have an auto responder email thinger that points them to the faq or some crap.

OR MAYBE! You guys should do a little and funny tutorial on how to make comics. Make a total mock of it.

Most of those questions could be dealt with via a single thread in the Showcase Showdown.

The only topics that would be in that forum are "What did you think of today's comic" (But 1 thread per day), "WHICH IZ UR FAV COMIXXX" and "HO ZOMBIE 2000!?!?!?"

What is there to discuss about a webcomic that changes its story and art design every single day?
