Because I really don't care to see 5 birthday threads on the front page of the GF every day.

Happy birthday!

Post boost b&. :fmita:

Anyways, 5 threads isn't really that many considering they drop down the list quite fast, and I generally see 0-3 a day, not 5. A subforum might be plausible but I'm not bothered by the threads.

It seems like a bad idea, because it's encouraging what is essentially spam, but they piss me off too.
e: There are 4 in the gf right now.

Happy birthday!

Yeah, that was actually part of the reason I changed my birthday last week. People care so damn much about their postcounts, they'll make a thread about anything. And lo and behold, the first 2 posters were Kenneh and Cristo, 2 of the three biggest post-boosters on this site. Arkain was on TO or I'm sure he woulda been there.

I don't understand why the mods and admins still allow them.
I saw someone the other day who's first post was a happy birthday post. :indiff:

I don't believe we need a birthday forum, there should just be no birthday threads at all. PM them if you really care.

There aren't enough Birthday threads to have there own forum.

This has to be the worst idea for a forum, i mean all you would say was "happy birthday!" Over and over.

The few birthday threads aren't really that big a deal. What makes them a pain in the ass is someone coming back and bumping them after a week and saying "OMG Happy bil8ted birfday!111!!". They should just be closed at the end of the day.

There should just be an automatic announcement thingy on the top of the main forums that says, "Happy Birthday, (enter users with 300+ posts and 5 months+ account age)"

Then if people want to personally wish the person a happy birthday, we have a spame.

Yeah, I really couldn't think of a way to get them out of GF without a subforum. =/

I'm not bothered by birthday threads, and I certainly don't think they warrant an entire forum

I've seen this happen, and it doesn't work well. They turn out to be really gay.
