Now, I know there is already a Halo 3 thread, but its just about the game in general, so I thought how about having a thread soley for the purpose of posting screenshots taken during the game and linking us to clips you've uploaded. It'll be our own Explosm-Halo3 community without the other users on the Bungie.net website.

Nope. You can't edit the Elephants. I've gotten that to happen as well. I think you just have them drive into each other (one goes under, the other goes over), and one might eventually flip over. I kind of forget, but I've done it.

I think the best feature of halo 3 are the screenshots and videos. It's stops people from totally bullshitting stories.

If they say something happened then you can easily ask them for a video or a pic.

That's a cool one. I got one at my friend's house where my body was floating in the air and doing a karate kick (even though I was dead), but that friend doesn't have xbox live, so I can't share it.

Taking Pictures. If you have Xbox-Live and it's connected to Bungie.net you can go to the theatre and record or take pictures, those pictures will upload to bungie.net on your username after maybe 24 hours, you can then download the whole file (Big enough to be a background for my big ass monitor.) and put it on your photobucket or whatever as you please.

Resizing does work, It's just that your Cache still uses that big image. Clear your cache or just wait it out, because it SHOULD be resized.

It records everything you play automatically. But it's not really 'saved'. You should be able to view your last 25 Games. If you pick a video, you can tell it to save, or just view it, fast forward to the cool part, hit X, then hit record. It'll be saved as a clip.

They unlock some gameplay changes in campaign. One of them gives you one hit kill with melee and another gives the covenant more powerful attacks. You can turn them on and off which is a good thing because I wouldn't want to go up against a brute with twice as much ammo, more armour and a load of grenades in Legendary.

Skulls can make the Campaign harder and give you more Campaign points.

Collecting all the skulls gives you one set of armor.

Have you guys tried Legendary with that skull that makes them enemies throw more grenades? Jesus man, I need to take a picture of that. There was at least 6 Plasma Grenades every few seconds coming right at you, and they would stick you nearly everytime!

I couldn't get past that level with that skull on.

This guy was dicking around that little base on Last Resort, so I chucked a grenade in, thinking I had frags and it would bounce around the corner at him. It ended up being a spike, which was good because he came around the corner at me and I shotgunned him right as the grenade blew.

When I actually try to get those lone wolves achievements, I fail, when I'm just messing around I get them :P (only one left is steppin razor, which is gonna be a biotch because I don't go for the sword normally) Good old high ground, same map where I got mongoose mowdown. First time I got the splazer I amazed my self with 3 direct kills (every other time I used the damn thing I'd miss) I died with one shot left and nearly got it off too. Few minutes later went back up there and got it again, saw a mongoose leaving the base, jumped to the other side splazer already chargin and as I was tracking him that nice elite decided to line up nicely while he feebly shot at the mongoose :)

I loaded up sandtrap in forge the other day to try to flip it, was surprisingly easy (angled it on a ramp and piled some eplosives in the higher end) but I was unable to get teh damn thing to fly in the air :P Of course I forgot about power cores or whatever their called (not fusion coils but the taller things)

I was playing Doubles Online with my friend, and we decided to play the VIP game in Sandtrap. So the game goes on, nothing incredibly special.. until I got the Gravity Hammer. The enemy was coming at my with a mongoose, so I decided to throw a nade down a few feet ahead of him so it would explode under him. It worked, but that's only the beggining. So, he comes flipping at me on the mongoose in mid-air. What do I do? I fuckin' smacked that mongoose with the hammer while he was still flipping. The mongoose explodes and sends him like 100 feet away. It was awesome.

I felt quite proud... :salute:

That would be awesome to see. If you haven't played 25 games since then go over his house and find the video of it, edit it to that particular clip and upload it to bungie.net so we can all see it.

Everything you play is automatically recorded, as a whole game. Up to 25 past games, I do believe. But for clips, screens, etc, etc, you have to do it manually.

It's too big to post straight, and if you make it smaller it loses the effect.. Me and my friend were dicking around in Forge, and he went to take the trash out.. So I spawned all the fusion coils I could around him, then stuck him with a plasma grenade. This is the result. Also, my file share has 3 clips (http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/FileShare.aspx?gamertag=TempestD3vil), I believe I am red in each of them, but it should be easy to find me anyway.

I was quite impressed with both of these because they don't fully show whats happening. In the first one I'm behind the guy on the right killing them both with a grav hammer but from the angle it looks like the guy is beating the other one down. In the second the guy does actually die after I shoot the fusion coils but I took it the second before he dies so it looks like he survives.

Basically, me and some friends where playing Ninjas vs Samurais, a gametype I made up, on Sandtrap. I added Mongooses, because everyone was bugging me so badly, and start driving one. My friend hops on the back with a Gravity Hammer and I drive up to a Sand Dune for us to hide, which is when he hops off. I'm confused as hell, thinking he brushed the right bumper by accident, and he just looks at me, then slams the hammer into the ground. I got sent flying so far that I hit the invisible wall on the other side of the level.

As soon as I threw it, I saw his name flash across my screen, and when he turned the corner to shoot me he got stuck. I thought it was awesome. Nevermind the fact that I got blown up by his grenade shortly after.

One of my games while waiting for the living dead playlist, shotty snipers on the pit. I just finish shooting some guys down the tunnle and see another guy on radar, I can tell he's in the invis tunnel, and its a good bet he'll be invisible, I was right, but I still managed to snipe him :)

Just updated my file share (http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/FileShare.aspx?gamertag=TempestD3vil) once again, this time with my first Killtacular. What's so special about this one, though, is I was playing ranked Team Slayer. AKA, there's only 4 people on their team. I came up from the bottom of Narrows with the shotgun, blasted a guy who was walking into the wall (They were lagging really bad, that's why this was so satisfying), turned around and shot a guy hiding behind another wall. Turned to my right, got another one running at me, his friend backed up but then tried to jump over me. Then, after I threw a grenade (Badly, I might add), the second guy I killed turned the corner after respawning and I got him again. If I had switched to my plasma grenade I could have had 7, and I SHOULD have had 6, but the lag made my melee not hit at the very end.

I just got a killing spree as the VIP (with a pistol) with nobody protecting me, I would have lasted longer but I was under the impression that 75% of my shield would be enough to withstand a melee... I was wrong. It'd be on my file share but its being stupid and doesn't want to fully load now.

And spud, I accepted your FR. What I do is if I remember me, or somebody else doing something cool in a game, I'll go watch it after wards, find it, get the best camera angle I can think of, and take a snap shot. I wish when recording you could slow/speed up the game, you can't even move faster when recording, I really need a capture card :P

I once had a killing spree with a flag, in Valhalla. I just camped in the cellar underneath the flag stand, all the other team came pouring in, so I just bashed em one by one.

Capture the flag on valhalla is so easy! Grab a mongoose, take the river, go to the direct front of the base, walk up the front ramp, grab the flag, walk backwards, use the man cannon, hope you don't die, and hope someone with a vehicle is close to where you land. Then score.

I should post a video of me doing that, I scored pretty quick once.

One time, I was messing with a grav lift and juggled two Plasma Grenades on one, until it hit the ceiling, and bounced off toward me and stuck myself.

I know, the first time I did it, I had to walk all the way to my own base from the middle, and almost got killed.

The second time, (In the same game) a warthog happened to be nearby and he picked me up. Usually someone will be more worried about picking up weapons, equipment and the missile launcher more than grabbing a mongoose. Usually you can grab one of them before someone rides away in them. Other-wise. Man-Cannon then walking to their base. Flag Steal and Man-Cannon back works sometimes. (Usually those who took the Mongoose or Warthog won't take the river path and be open to attack from the missile launcher, so they won't make it.

I'd rather not have to trust my teammates :) Plus, vehicles are missle traps and most drivers are constantly tipping them over as well. I've been known for being the only person to notice the "Missles In Bound" sound or the ever so silent splaser sound and abandoning ship just before I die and hear "Why did you get...." as they get pwned :) I only veto one thing on Halo, thats territories, offense/defense SUCKS, the only way you can win is if your group goes as a whole to each node (since it can't be taken back) or you get lucky and just wtfpwn the other team. I don't like having to depend on my team to win, me having hte most kills by far and still losing, isn't fun, I'm so glad I still get exp and sometimes even skill points for doing so now. Infact, my highest level was 32 in TS but it went down to 30 again, so I thought maybe that was my max. I go back to playing Lone Wolves which I was at 21 at the time and keep playing trying to get to my next rank, I get so high in level (35) that I skipped 3 ranks to Commander, then I went up to 40, but I still have alot of exp to gain to rank again, but I think by that time I'm gonna shoot for 50. The reason I do so much better in FFA is I don't have to rely on my teammates being good. Which I love :)

Go into normal and turn on 5 of the skulls: Famine, Thunderstorm, Mythic, Catch, and Tough Luck. You should be able to get it easy because it's normal, even with a few deaths I was getting 17000+.

This made me laugh and groan at the same time. I'm the blue guy, and was driving across the middle, and had just passed a guy on my team who had the laser.
The red guy was driving dead for me, so I decided to play chicken with him. In the end, neither of us gave up, which meant a head on collision.

Sharpshooter is a fairly boring clip, I simply uploaded it to chronicle my Killing Frenzy and Sharpshooter (10 sniper rifle kills in a row) on Shotty Snipers Valhalla. I didn't want to upload this one, but for some reason Bungie.net isn't showing that game, or the medals for it. It's like it never happened. :indiff:

Overkill is me getting an Overkill on Lone Wolves, Snowbound. I'm pretty sure the 4 people I was playing knew each other, and were trying to get achievements. They kept congregating on top of one of the buildings with the Spartan Laser trying to kill each other.. So I just had a field day with the shotgun and beam rifle. Thanks for the achievements, guys. :)

I'm sure some of you have seen the "Warthog Catapult" video, a guy gets to the highest reachable point (by foot) and launches a warthog to around the area where the banshee spawns, but the best part is, he was in it :) Inspired by this I had the idea to make to warthogs collide.. which maybe possible but I havn't tried such a deep undertaking, what I did instead... was rework his launch :)

The original guy had a simpler version (that wasn't floating in mid air either) A crate, a radio tower, a warthog sitting on the tower, with the maximum allowed fusion coils and a handful of plasma batteries at the bottom, that respawned as soon as they were destroyed. Truthfully I just took his bombs, but I'm not using all of them, my biggest problem is finding out the right setup, the position of EVERYTHING, changes EVERYTHING about how it goes. Warthog position, ramp position, explosive position, nade position. I don't have the same setup thats shown in the video (I just kept saving over the last while I changed stuff) but I have what I'm currently toying around with on my file share, the old setup didn't allow for many explosives because it had huge gaps so this time, I used two barricades for a kinda bowl effect, though they are causing problems of their own. :)

BTW, its not too hard to get things to float, but can be tedious. The only thing I know for sure that works is receiving nodes (for teleporters). If you say, stack two crates, and delete teh bottom one, the top one will float... until you hit it, but if you put a receiver node between them, it will stay, so I had to keep building up and up to that point :) Fun stuff.

Added more to my ever-expanding file share. I had to buy Bungie Pro so I could fit them. I added Bank Shot to my file share, it chronicles something pretty cool I did trying to launch a Mongoose on Last Resort. Also, Dead Bird is me sniping one of the yellow birds that fly around on The Pit.. I wondered to myself if they could be shot, so I tried, and sure enough, their corpses even fall to the ground.

EDIT: I'd post my player snapshot, but for some reason the one on my profile isn't what my guy looks like now. :indiff: I made his armor pink and purple and gave him the cat emblem.. Because what's more embarrassing than getting beaten in Lone Wolves by a pink guy with a cat?

All I have left is Maybe Next Time Buddy (I have no clue how I'm going to get this one without boosting, I've gotten all the others legit but this is rediculous) Headshot Honcho, which I don't understand, I need to look at the description again because I know it says ranked playlist or campaign, but I wonder if it counts team slayer, because I know I've gotten 10 headshot kills in at least one shotty snipers.. though I do get body kills alot.

Other than that, beating Campaign on Heroic/Legendary (I soloed up to Covenant on heroic then went back to normal for skulls) and like 7/9 campaign scoring achievements. Anybody feel like helping meh?

Yeah, board the same vehicle within 10 seconds after being boarded in lone wolves. But from what I've seen, theres only two possible ways for it to happen, one, you boost (which I don't want to do, havn't yet) or get boarded by a idiot who allows you to board him on accident. I kept trying it on the ghost but the guy would either drive off, kill me, or I'd die as he boarded me, and since I can barely move and can't even jump it makes boarding them even harder. So whenever I'm on a map with a mongoose I try those... but nobody wants to board em, one guy got on teh back which didn't count. lol

Did you play during the living dead event? I got my steppen razor during that, along with over kill (which I would have gotten eventually) but I don't like going for cheap weapons so steppen razor would have been a while :P

As for your other achievements, aside from boosting (I don't really care about helping somebody else, but rather not boost my self) I can just give you advice.

Two For One, easiest ways are wait for two people to be on a mongoose, or two people in a fire/melee fight. I got mine on high ground. Grabbed the splazer and saw a guy in the mongoose leaving the base, so I jumped to the other side with it chargin, another guy was going after the mongoose, I lined the mup, yelled "IMA CHARGIN MAH LAZER!" and zapped em :)

Lee R Wilson is my most recent medal, even though I'm a grenade whore I had never gotten 5 sticks in a lone wolves match, so what I started doing was only killing with plasmas if I had them. Didn't help that I don't memorize every map to know where the plasmas are, I got three one game, then got 6 in snowbound (which seems to be the easiest) I knew where plasmas spawned there, now came the part of sticky people. If your only trying to stick from afar then you won't get many, unless your crazy good at sticking and in which case you would already have the medal. What I liked to do was run at them and stick them.

Killing Frenzy, best advice, take advantage of people fighting :) Nades can be your best friend.

Steppen Razor I got in the zombie playlist, so I have really no advice except wait for crazy king on the pit and try to camp the hills.

I got Mongoose mowdown on highground, I kept trying but end up falling too far behind on kills and stop, till I got it on accident on high ground, ran straight into a guy who was busy fighting somebody else. Warning though, you can only get a splatter hitting them at full speed if they have full shields, or you can nudge them if their low.

As for your second quote, yeah I know the feeling. Sometimes I'll play BTB to relax, unranked and not having to worry about anything is nice. One game was on valhalla, I go straight for the laser and usual and notice something strange... a guy nearly at the top of the enemy base, and he's sniping. I thought "What a tard, he has to realize that he's gonna be reported by everybody in this game right?" After teh game, of course my curiosity led me to the replay, where I saw that he just took the banshee and flew up there, I HATE when people do that, but its not cheating :P I wonder how many people even bothered to look before reporting him though.

I'm getting increasingly pissed off at lone wolves, I'm currently 40, and been spending the past few games trying to get that damn vehicle medal and as result I've been going back down to 38 then up to 40 again, but it seems, the higher ranked the match, the more cheap they are. Snowbound always turns into a camping match, I grab the ghost and they are already camping down there, I manage to kill a few spawners but then they gang up on me, so I decided to play their game and ended up losing by only 2 kills :) Gaurdian matches turn into hide around corner with shotty/mauler/hammer games, its very irritating. Especially, oddball on snowbound, remind me to start vetoing that, only thing worse than shield camping is camping with a one hit kill lunge weapon.

Well, just some updates.. I have all of my achievements except campaign (I'll look for you sometime DarkMountain, when my internet is acting calm.

And Two for One. I still need that one. It's ridiculously hard to do in a normal game, people move too much in all of mine. I have to admit I played a game and they were boosting. I figured eh, what the hell, why not.. Got my Killing Frenzy and Steppin' Razor there. I also got my Mongoose Mowdown and Better Luck Next Time Buddy in a boosting game, but I wasn't actually boosting. The guys kept trying to kill me, so I decided fuck it and just started to kill them. I hit a guy who rocketed me with the mongoose, and someone else had been shooting him, so he died. Then, after that, I boarded this guy while he was trying to get his achievement and he reboarded, so I said fuck that and took the ghost back right as I was dying.

I got Lee R Wilson Memorial on Guardian. I was trying to get my Killing Frenzy and some fucker killed me at 8, so I got pissed, said fuck it, and just started collecting plasmas and going kamikaze. I had 8 sticks by the end of the match, but I lost because it was Crazy King. :\

So all I have left is 7/9 meta, Heroic, Legendary, and Two for One (Which I will never get :() Dammit I want that Security helmet.

EDIT: And of course I have to whore my file share. Added two new plasma grenade things. One of these happened in a game where I just happened to be bitching about how plasmas don't love me anymore, right before the stick. (Narrows). Leave some comments on my videos or something.. Maybe I can get the Recon set. :rolleyes:

I just thought of a way of getting Maybe Next Time Buddy though I don't know if it counts, theres also another way but I doubt it works.

Well I was on high ground devasting with the ghost, and got boarded, he killed me in 2 hits and ran off, I crossed my fingers hoping I'd spawn in the base (where he was heading) and I did, and I boarded him, but no achievement. Looked at the replay and from the type I got kicked out to the time I boarded him it was 11 seconds, I dunno if dying cancels it out but i'd be nice if it didn't :)

Anyway, the way I just thought of was probably obvious to most of you, getting out of the vehicle when they board you. I was used to not having any negative effects from being kicked out so I just let them do it, but I think, if I get out before they kick me I'll have a much better chance, I won't be near death and I wont be stunned either.

I don't think it counts if you jump out before you're boarded, though. Also, two new clips in the file share, two no-scopes on the same guy, in the same level, not even a minute apart. I bet he's maaad.

No, I mean jumping out right after they board you, before they kick you out. It has to count because really, thats the only way it would work in a real game.

Almost everything in my file share (http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/FileShare.aspx?gamertag=TempestD3vil) has been updated since my last post in here. That includes a Soccer map and gametype that me and Oberlin made on Foundry, and an infection map and gametype that I made on foundry. Also, videos galore. I doubt I'll update too much though, I have Rock Band now, Halo 3 is sitting idly on my shelf.
