What if you'd remake Ban Kamp, but only put a list of people that are currently banned. It would be pretty handy, because alot of people are banned for a long period while nobody knows, so there'd be no confusion about who's banned. The list could be ordered by postcount or join date or something, so it isn't clogged up with stupid poopheads.

I am not sure how annoying the ban camp was for the mods, but I think the members enjoyed it. I do not think bringing it back will hurt anything, so why not.

I don't think alot of people are getting what I'm saying, so I'll post an example:

Let's say Relaps gets a two week ban for posting nudes.
How it would look when Relaps gets banned:

Relaps : posting nsfw images : banned from 01/10/07 till 14/10/07
noob : being gay : banned from 25/09/07 till 02/10/07
noob : being gay : banned from 25/09/07 till 02/10/07
noob : being gay : banned from 25/09/07 till 02/10/07

A couple days later, Tempest gets banned for pming his cock to people
How it would look:

Relaps : posting nsfw images : banned from 01/10/07 till 14/10/07
Tempest: pming nsfw images : banned from 05/10/07 till 08/10/07
noob: being gay : banned from 02/10/07 till 28/10/07
noob: being gay : banned from 02/10/07 till 28/10/07

Then, when Tempest gets unbanned, it looks like this:

Relaps : posting nsfw images : banned from 01/10/07 till 14/10/07
noob: being gay : banned from 02/10/07 till 28/10/07
noob: being gay : banned from 02/10/07 till 28/10/07

It looks complicated but it isn't

Oh, ok, I see what you mean now. I thought you meant bringing back the old ban kamp that had a list of everyone who had been banned. That's actually a really cool idea, in my opinion. Lets just see if Rob and Kwanza will implement it.

You can't easily see the number of infrac points or reasons.

You can see the reasons just the same as you could before. The problem is you have no idea knowing who is to'd or for how long.

You can see the reasons just the same as you could before. The problem is you have no idea knowing who is to'd or for how long.

You have to click on every thread, and sometimes it's nice to scroll through and skim them for funny ones.

You don't have to click the thread for the reasons, they are right there in the titles. Exactly like it was before if you want to see the post in which the to came from you'd have to click it and visit the thread.

I was only here for like 3 days before ban kamp went away :( But it did seem good. My finger gets sore from clicking on every single dump, reading, clicking back, scrolling down would be nicer.
And I don't get what you mean Tempest.

The user dump is pretty ok, I like the setup but like assman said there is no way to tell who is banned at any given time. That would be useful.

Ban lists like this (http://forums.somethingawful.com/banlist.php) and this (http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showbans.php?) are pretty good. Uncluttered, show how long the bans have left, everything you want to see.

I like the Facepunch one better, it shows how long people have left until they're unbanned.

Only thing I don't like is not being able to click somewhere so that it will take you to the posts that they got the infraction for. I suppose that's because for those things none of them actually exist or that since it's a culmination of points there isn't one specific post that it stems from.

Ah so you don't. My bad, I probably meant to say number of points, not sure since I haven't even been into the User Dump lately because it sucks so much.

I like the look of the beta Ban Kamp so far, but there's no link to the posts that earned infractions.

Awesome. How is it displayed when there is a permaban though?
Will there be a separate list for permaban, or will the person just appear in ban kamp then disappear after a few days?

I'm going to work on a new one that pulls infractions instead. Like a cleaner User Dump. You'll be able to search by username, and sort things. I'll also jam it packed with features people will never use so you can't say I didn't do it.

Hmm, with some tweaking I wonder if this idea could work.. Clearly don't make it editable by users, but if it doesn't require a code fix (Which I know you said earlier making infractions visible in profiles did), maybe list how many infraction points a user has, a list of their infraction reasons, etc.. Easier to spot constant troublemakers that way.

So you're saying that every infraction ever, will be in there? And then you just type something like "Cristo" into the user name slot, and it'd bring up every time he has every been banned?

Ah, much better. An archive of old bans below it would make it almost perfect. As someone else said, a link to a post would be nice, but I guess that doesn't work so well with the points system.
