Ok, new forum equals a new set of rules. Please reply with your ideas for posting rules & thread guidlines so I can steal them, change them, and sticky them for the official Games & Surveys rules.

I think post boost thread games should be forbidden.

Why? So you post count can go up? So you can look cooler?
Post boost "games" are just circle-jerking newb fests. That was how the old G&S used to be before InTransit and J-Rex became mods of it.
Rating avatars and signatures aren't games in my opinion.
You know I was being sarcastic, right?
Hence the :indiff:.

Post counts shouldn't even count in this forum.

If someone breaks the rules of the thread, ban them. That's kind of obvious, but that's not happening.
Ban for posting everytime someone else posts in that thread.
Have a list of games that aren't allowed ( Counting game, 3 word story etc.), If other games pop up, that shouldn't be allowed, close and add them to the list but don't ban the person.
Agreed with Coconuts. I think that people should get some post counts in here, but any blatantly obvious attempt should be shut down and dealt with.

Post boosting should be dealt with an infraction and post reduction, instead of just an infraction. If the post count is reduced to twice the number of times they post boosted (Ex: Poster boosted 4 posts, they get 8 taken off their p[ost count) they'll probably think twice about boosting.

just take of post counts here.
it would solve 99% of the problems.

Hey, you should be a mod!

For once (even if he was kidding) he's right. You should apply, you'd rock as a mod.

One thing that I noticed was that there were many games that got through that shouldn't have, due mostly to the fact that mods tend to pick favorites. When someone makes a thread, the mods shouldn't be allowed to see who made it until it's been approved or denied, therefor erasing any favoritism from mods.

but their is an extent to it you shouldnt just post random as shit to get your posts up, but if its in a game or something as long as it isnt like rating avatars or some stupid ass shit like tht. But other than that i think its fine to have post boosting games.
The same games and surveys shouldn't keep popping up a week or so after the first one died. The dead should stay dead.

I guess we now know who the new mod is for this forum.
They didn't announce my name yet, Ban... don't spoil it! :mmyes:
I think it'd work to put in a subforum for ridiculous games that shouldn't have post count, but that people would like to play.
And then alternately, in the regular section post count still applies. Some threads in here actually require thought, conversation, and interaction.
i.e. Your Favorite Band Sucks.
As opposed to, Would You Rather.

The subforum idea is nice, but it could become a second spame or basically a worse off version of what the G&S was originally.

I hate you guys. I'll fix it now.
Also, if a new mod doesn't get picked earlier, I'll probably close this and post up some actual rules tonight.

Any particular reason I can't post threads? Anything to do with me having been banned for three days until earlier today?

You need to have made a certain number of posts before you can create a thread. By memory it's 50. (although I could be wrong). It's there to help prevent bots and stupid people filling up the forum.
Just don't go resurrecting or spamming up other threads to try to boost your count.

New threads need to be approved by myself before they show up for everyone to see. There isn't anything other then an old rule that isn't enforced that says you need to make a certain number of posts before you can make a thread.
Far, how long does this approval process take? And how do we know if a thread has been rejected? Will you PM us and explain why?
It's isn't really a process, the thread shows up for me on the forums allone and I click approve or I just leave it alone. I can only get on about once a day lately and that's when I'll approve the threads. There is no system in place right now in which if a thread is rejected the creator of the thread gets notified but if there is enough call for it I could certainly do so. There aren't that many threads made and even less that I reject so it shouldn't be too hard.

'Newb' isn't a word. Methinks that you spend too much time on the net.

Since this did get bumped, I think there should be a cap on how many posts you can do in a game. RessXalcor has 235 posts in "Get To Know Each Other." Thats nearly half his total. I don't know about you, but it just seems like post boosting.

I thought we decided long ago that anyone who post boosts cares too much about their post count and is unimportant for that very reason, so we just turn the other cheek. says the explosmateer
That actually sounds like a good idea. Something like making the max posts in one game, that isn't those RPG/story games, around 50. Any post after and they get banned forlike a day or two.
They just take over threads and make them suck is the point.
THere really isn't a way for me to regulate a cap in a certain thread.
I didn't think G&S posts counted anyway.
Am I wrong?

Yea I noticed this too and was talking to KOC about it. It seems a little ridiculous that someone can have 236 post in that thread and have only joined like 3 months ago. I know a lot of people in thread have got banned for post boosting but he seems the worst case of it and is getting off scott free. Since you can't put a cap you could just warn him or something, and yes G&S post count.

Actually, you are. :fmita:
Report people you see post boosting, it makes my job a hell of a lot easier than people just complaining about something and me having to go look for the offending posts.
Still you do realize, except for the more thought intensive games I've allowed in, like the RPG, basically all G&S is for is post boosting. You can't really get a discussion going out of anything here.

Unless I choose to disagree with you and post a picture that describes my emotions, and the person below me posts a picture to beat my picture. I'm sure this time such a thread wouldn't go to shit.

Post count doesn't matter. Look at me. I've been consistently disliked for the past 6 months, but i'm in the top 3 pages of posters on the member list. So is Arkain. :ahe:
