Don't remember a thread being made on this topic, and I think it would be fun to discuss. What is the most meaningful sentence/lyric/quote you have heard? You can choose to explain what you interpret the meaning as, or you could just leave it open for interpretation. It can be about anything, but extra points for 'meaning of existence' type quotes, remember to reference so people can delve deeper if they wish.

First one I can think of is:

Personally, although I am in no way religious, I really like the 23rd Psalm:

Don't remember a thread being made on this topic, and I think it would be fun to discuss. What is the most meaningful sentence/lyric/quote you have heard? You can choose to explain what you interpret the meaning as, or you could just leave it open for interpretation. It can be about anything, but extra points for 'meaning of existence' type quotes, remember to reference so people can delve deeper if they wish.

Its true that Owen was using it ironically, but it was taken from an ode by Horace, who was using it sincerely. Owen is questioning if it is truly right, and Horace was saying that is was, so whether is is deep or not depends on your view of patriotism and fighting and all that shit.
