If you know the guy then you might as well summon them. They can't steal your loot anyway and you both get souls when either of you kill demons. I stayed solo for 99% of the game because I take my time with things and search every nook and cranny. I hate people who rush on ahead. It's amazing how much hidden loot you find and how many souls you get if you explore. You can find great gear, find items to upgrade your gear and above all - upgrade your stats.

If you do prefer to rush, then you NEED summons for bosses and latter stages because your underdeveloped character will get slaughtered almost immediately. My guy was a tank because I did a fair bit of grinding along the way and I still had a hard time with some bosses - so I can't even fathom how you'll hope to get anywhere solo with a rushed character.

What the fuck, end-boss is a total easybake cake.
And in my opinion the credits were prettier then the end cut-scene.

Who choose evil? I did good, on next playtrough I will do evil.

And I can't find half the loot some people have already mentioned they've gotten this far (ring of fire resistance for example).

Depends on your character's Luck doesn't it? Some classes have higher luck than others as I have read.

You'll find it soon, once you get to the NPC you have to save to be precise.

Wow the "New Game +" is a hell of a lot harder than the standard game. You get a ton of souls too, which is awesome.

Ah yeah, finally beat the spider. Got fed up with melee failure and just got a bow to pick him off. Got my ring and still on my way. I love this game.

Is there a spot which I can return to the nexus close to after I meet Patches/vendor in 2-2?

Buy the "Evacuate" miracle. It costs 20,000 souls but it's extremely helpful.

By the way, the game's publisher Atlus was surprised with how well received the game was and the sales were much higher than they anticipated. They will bring more copies of it to stores so those of you who were having trouble finding it will be able to get one soon. Deluxe Edition copies are totally gone and will not be reprinted sadly.

Excellent. When you beat the game, you start a "New Game +" where start from the beginning of the game but keep your stats, skills and non-quest related equipment. The difficulty just ramps up significantly. After that there's "New Game ++" and so on. The best items usually aren't found in the first playthrough and it takes a minimum of 3-4 to earn a Platnium. There are black and white tendencies which depending on how good or shitty you play and how much of a dick you are to NPC's and other players can have big impacts on what happens.

My friend got a slim for this game. I really appreciate games, like this one, and indeed it ROCKS. For games like this, where they are awesome with no advertising is just brilliant.

This game came out of absolutely nowhere for me too. I literally learned about it through a random clicking of this thread and damn am I glad I did. (or am I? seeing as I'm fucking stuck because of the server downtime lately

So after about 120 hours, 5 consecutive play throughs and a soul level of 205... I've obtained the Platinum trophy for this game. Feeling damn good about myself at the moment. :D

Well you need at least four playthroughs for all trophies and then Platinum. I etched into my fifth because of the blackened World Tendencies they brought onto us as a Halloween gig.

My Soul Level got that high because of one particular trophy, which proved to be the hardest one to get: Pure Bladestone. This item is incredibly rare. About 25 of those hours was spent farming the fourth world... probably around 200 times over. I got a shit ton of souls and upgraded my stats to Tank status.

I am just about to finish my first playthrough, and I am going to say, I am somewhat dissapointed with the difficulty of this game =/. I hear all the time it is very hard, and though I did die every once in a while, I found myself, especially towards the end, pretty much going through entire levels without dying, and that includes bosses. I will play new game+ because I hear it is harder, but its kinda funny. At first I heard "right from the start its impossible!" then "oh beat one or two bosses and it gets tough!". Then I hear "Just play till the end, thats when it truly gets hard" and finally "Play New Game+, its so much harder!". Its not that I don't believe it gets harder on the second playthrough, I just find it funny xD. So far the only thing I have tried multiple times and have yet to do is getting the phosphorescent pole from the black phantom in 3-1 (I have gotten all the other black phantom weapon drops w/o trouble). His attacks kill me in two hits even with my shield blocking xD

Bullshit I say. I can trounce through my consecutive New Game ++++ and beyond in under 6 hours with minimal deaths but there's absolutely no denying the sheer rage and frustration I experienced my first time. It. Is. Fucking. Hard.

I was a Thief in the beginning. Start class means nothing though because in the end, your character will be accustomed to your own playstyle. I chose to build jack of all trades character. I poured most of my stats into Vitality for high HP, endurance for stamina and equipment burden (so I can wear good equipment and still be quick) and magic for extra MP and magic slots. I didn't completely ignore anything. Every stat of mine had around 30 points. These particular few had 40+

See now, what I want to do is to unload all of my points into the stats that'll make me absorb damage like nothing. Vitality and Endurance are obvious, but what about other defenses?

Don't worry about other defenses. Bleed and plague are a joke. Getting either is a rare thing and it's easily fixed with a Lotus. Poison is more of a pain in the ass because it's very common in world 5 but also easily fixed with a Lotus.

Im not denying the frustration of this game. There are points where I would die about 2 or 3 times, and would get ticked off having to play up to the end of the level again, but the fun of the game would get me to keep going forward. I just don't think it lived up to the hype that I heard from people, maybe its because I play rpg's a lot. I dont know, my first play through was about 25/30 hours long with leaving it on overnight once, so it took about 17 hours. But I'm pumped to play through new game+! I'm planning on getting the platinum trophy which can take quite a few playthroughs, and I'm sure the next few playthroughs will be difficult, I just never felted "challenged" in this game, but then again, the last time I actually did feel challenged was when I played a no sphere grid/no summon game of final fantasy X.

Can someone please explain to me how the fuck I find Biorr of Twin Fangs?

I just defeated the Penetrator boss. I got the Iron Key Ring (or w/e) from the Minister in that level. I go back to 1-1 and the gate on the left at the very beginning is still closed. Do I have to have pure white/black tendency?

Yes you need pure white/black tendency but that takes you to executioner Miralda, Biorr of Twin Fangs you find in 1-2 in a jail cell with a key you find in 1-3. After that, he helps you with the penetrator boss and the dragon in 1-4.

I defeated the tower knight and grinded for souls helping other people do it.

So you can go back and help.

Glitch.

That was related to the fat minister enemy in the 3rd section of World 1. He's not a normal enemy. Once you get near him or attack him from afar, he triggers a cutscene which shows him mocking you and walking into the Fog behind him. There was a bug however which would cause him not to trigger the cutscene when you go around behind him. He just basically stood there, completely invincible. Players on consecutive playthroughs were able to cast Soul Sucker on him repeatedly and get infinite souls. I think it was patched. No one has gotten close to that many souls legitimately.

Yes! I finally got an armour upgrade. I killed Yurt when he returned to the Nexus then went off two 2-4 to finish the Blue Dragon. Biorr died in the battle so I got his set (except the shield and armour because they were too heavy). Just trying to balance the armour and still being able to roll quickly. Just a few more points in endurance and it should do it.

No that's not what I meant, there is a monotone of 'depression' in the game, I haven't found any 'up' yet. Just nothing to make me feel more positive for maybe just a cut scene.
